Hi Did you add any sheets of newspaper to the bottom of the 1st tray. It is true if you keep the food covered you do not smell the rotting food. Even with the lid off if you have enough bedding you wont smell anything. I have found with my WF360 if I let the food rot before I feed the bin they eat the food even faster.
@Allen2045 Thanks for your note and your compliment. I put a sheet of newspaper down when I start the first tray. initially keeps fines from falling though. Yea to letting food age. I have slide shows on my blog the wormist dot com about nuking kitchen scraps so they break down quicker. I collect from a farm market for my big bins. In the summer I leave that stuff in black bags in the sun for a week. They can go through it quick.
