I liked both versions of the film... sure I know how the real book went, but seriously, I thought this was a good movie... depends what side you're on I guess... hardcore fans of the book will probably be mad, but I'm a fan of the story, the idea, so I loved this (AND the 1963 one). Golding was a genius, British accents or not!

The same object that allows piggy to see, read, and be intelligent is what gives the kids access to fire. The glasses are a symbol for human intelligence. This story is brilliant.

Is this from the very begining? I read the book and I don't think this is from the very begining. Also, Jack didn't swear that much in the book, and where is the "littlun" with the mulberry scar? He was supposed to die when the fire burns the woods.
