It's pretty much the exact same show. There have been a few minor tweaks since the very first run of this show in 1998 (and also some changes that occur when hosting the show in a touring theater vs. on Broadway where the show is permanent) but if it ain't broke, don't fix it I guess ;) Hope you can see the show later this year, it truly is an experience of a lifetime.
If you watch the trailer for the lion king, muted, with a Black Eyed Peas song playing to it (any song, it doesn't really matter) it makes it sooo much better :)
I know this comment is probably going to get a lot of thumb down replies, but I personally don't like the whole idea of the masks being on TOP of someone's head... but I do love the idea of someone not being covered up with a whole suit of fur! LOL! THAT was an improvement!
i wanna see this musical sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo badly!!!! I <3 this movie and could watch it over and over. I BET IT ROCKED!!!!
This was technically the first Broadway show I ever saw, even if it was the tour cast, and I loved it! I will always have a special place in my heart for The Lion King.
Me too, i saw it when my high school choir class went to L.A. nd we saw the tour cast. My first broadway show(tour) i will never forget seeing. Simply amazing =)
I have seen it 2 times in Los Angeles. Unbelievable! It's THE best thing you will ever see! I was always fascinated by the masks and puppets. When my little brother heard the music and looked at pictures, He made masks out of paper and sang and danced on the couch. It is truly a phenomenon.
I haven't seen the show, but I can't tell you how much I want to. I cry just watcing these video's on youtube!!!! My school is taking us to New York next year, and we are going to Broadway, so I may be able to see it then!!!! YAYY!!! But I get chills just thinking about it. Not to mention crying. Broadyway is truly magical. There is no such thing as impossible when it comes to broadway. They can do anything. ;)
iv'e seen this twice in london westend and it is bloody breath taking.. i have seen most of the westend shows and this has been in my top three with wicked and billy elliot
seriously...it's beyond your imagination...wow, i just respect the cast so much and the music just goes straight to your heart..it's seriously amazing
It's a totally awesome performance! Extremely touching and better than the animated Disney movie. Definitely worth the ticket price, too. I saw this play a couple of months ago at Minskoff Theatre, NYC and cried. It's that emotional! I was the first person to jump up and clap for the standing ovation that night. The talented acting and dancing; the costumes; the props--and the music is what really did me in. This was the most beautiful performance I've ever seen. A must-see for sure!!!
this is only the cast who travel america, but there is a cast who just stay at the same theatre in broadway, im fromn england so im not entirely sure what you need to do
That´s one of my greatest wish in my life; just once to be able to see it! Maybe this future summer, if I visit New York. Just the music alone can make my tears appear!
the young nala in this video is meeeee. i was young nala for 10 months in the cheetah tour. :) this was when we were touring in seattle. i miss this so much! i like watching this... it makes me remember all the puppets and stuff. haaha :)

In 1982 some political group in the city decided Seattle's nickname as the "Emerald City." I guess because of all the evergreen trees and natural beauty that we supposedly have here. I guess there could be worse city nicknames.
