  • Larry,

Thanks for getting back with me. Let us know when you have your new YouTubeChannel set up. Thanks

    Ironheadbro

  • Very Nice Job! If I am not mistaken, this is Jimmy Swaggarts rendition of this song. How did you come to play it? You have it down almost note for note. I am looking for your tutor videos. Do you have them? I also play a lot like Jimmy Swaggart, but there are a few things he does i just can't figure out. ie.. runs. Wondering if you could help me with them? Thanks and God Bless.

  • @dpsjr52368 Thank you so much! Actually, I do not emulate Swaggart, but have heard him play so many songs growing up that my style actually 'sprouted' from that influence lol. I do plan on doing How To videos, but am very involved with Gospel Studio work. Hope to have some soon. Do you have videos of yourself that I might listen to?

  • Larry, Ive been checking back to see if youve posted more songs with the camara above the keyboard. Thanks

    Ironheadbro

  • IhB

I'll be posting again this weekend. With all new gear and camera. I want your opinion most of all. Will also be posting some "how to" videos as well as more performance based stuff.

**BUT ALSO, look for my videos coming soon on my new channel called LarrYsMuSicChaNNEL on Youtube...coming soon ;-)

Glad to have you as a friend here.

    Larry.

  • @ironheadbro Very sorry for taking so long to get videos underway. Involved in some heavy studio work and have been enormously busy, but this is a priority that I will get underway asap. Godspeed, Larry

  • Larry, I love your music , you play very well.

  • Larry, Love your gospel style. Could you replay this song (and any other songs with the same style) but with the camara above the keyboard so I can learn how you are "tickling those ivories". I play by ear and watching . Thanks

  • thanks ironheadbro.

I do plan on doing more videos in the upcoming weeks that have better sound and video....but also showing technique as well as style.

    Thanks for commenting!

  • Hey Larry, I thought I'd look you up and say hello. ~SPB

  • Hey Sam.

How are things? Did you find me a good tower? :)

  • hey larry.. im from alaska, living in a village and these are the kind of gospel we play here.. dont know how to read notes but i do learn by listening n im gettin there on how to play this one.. ONE request is Love was When.. God bless n keep it up.

  • Thank yo so much Brenda! I love the old campmeeting songs - Used to be a musician for a tent revival preacher in the late 70's. Do you plan on posting videos?

PS I also play by ear...never play the same song the same way twice lol.

Godspeed and hope to hear from you again.

    Larry

  • o wow!! loved it! i absolutely love this style of music, i play the piano and organ at my church a lot. check out my vids that i hav, could you give me any tips?? God Bless!!

  • Thanks Gibbo. I listened to "I'll Fly Away" on your site and you are really good. A suggestion would be to play while not looking, expecting to make mistakes and play notes out of rhythm a bit to stretch the boundaries a little. You have great timing on your notes so learn to play what I call 'off beat' notes...which add Gibbo's own personality to the mix ;-)

  • thanx a lot for responding to my comment!!! i will try to work on your suggestion, i appreciate it a lot; im trying to lear as much as i can. do u know anything about playing the hammond organ?

  • YEP, I can Hear A little Jimmy Swaggart there buddy... Go for it..

everyone look at my comment I made to the video of John Starnes,, " HE CAME TO ME"

I posted a comment on there to a reply I had on Jimmy Swaggart, everyone needs to read it..

  • That's exactly what this version reminded me of! Peace.

  • That was what I wanted exactly. Thanks for willingly sharing with a stranger

  • May I know what are the four notes you played once at the end of the piano and once more at a further end?

  • Yes, I beleive you are refering to a repeated 4 note run. The notes were A, Bb, B and G and then repeat those 4 notes on the next octave. One thing to note and that is if you "rake" the flat note (Bb in this instance) down to the major note, (Bb rake down to B) it gives a jazz like feeling to the run. Hope this helps!

  • That was exactly what I wanted and do not know how to express. Thanks for yr kindness in helping.

  • You are very welcome!

  • Very good for the lst try. Like old Christian songs.

  • Thanks!

  • Larry great job check out my Music page at

Bebo dot com. Look under Music4himnow.

  • wow, thanks so much for the comment. Your organ playing reminds me of the days of Tent meetings I used to attend. Love your style! Hope to hear more from you and will go to your site on Bebo now. Godspeed!

  • Very nice!
