He was the defense secretary. The Ampatuans are duly elected officials. What could he do to "control the reign of the Ampatuans"? Nothing. The question is, who put them in power in the first place? That, I think is literally the root of the problem.

It is widely belived that Gibo was acting in support of his uncle, Danding Cojuangco who had pending cases with the Supreme Court. Considering that move, I now know that he is not as clean as he looks.

For his own personal reasons, Gibo apparently did not work as hard as he could have in pursuing that impeachment bid, since it is believed to be one of the reasons why he had a rift with Danding Cojuangco. This was cited by sources interviewed by the Philippine Daily Inquirer. His decision to cut clean from Cojuangco just shows his sense of independence.

If you want an objective assessment of how the government handled the post-Ondoy operations, you should take the word of the United Nations, which commended the government for its quick response.

@mareha This is a fan video. It's meant to extol the leadership qualities of Gibo that other people may not know about or choose not to know because of their bias for other candidates. Why did you say that the pictures are all praises without basis? For me, each photo is equivalent to a thousand words.

@welostit Of course you can prevent a massacre, and I think Gibo has some of the blood on his hands when he did nothing to control the reign of the Ampatuans. Advise Mangandadatus not to run against the Ampatuans? CRAZY! Where is the TALINO that he supposedly has? I know of people who will vote for him because he is articulate and looks clean.

@dhrrychu You can only prevent a massacre if you have that anti-crime system they used in "The Minority Report." Can you tell me how Gibo could have controlled "the reign of the Ampatuans"? He was the defense secretary. The Ampatuans are duly elected officials. What could he do to "control the reign of the Ampatuans"? Nothing. The question is, who put them in power in the first place? That, I think is literally the root of the problem.

@welostit But please, he should walk his talk! As Congressman, he led the move to impeach the Chief Justice Davide which almost led to a constitutional cris. It is widely belived that Gibo was acting in support of his uncle, Danding Cojuangco who had pending cases with the Supreme Court. Considering that move, I now know that he is not as clean as he looks.

@dhrrychu Gibo was president of the NPC, which was founded by his uncle, when he made that move to impeach Chief Justice Davide. For his own personal reasons, Gibo apparently did not work as hard as he could have in pursuing that impeachment bid, since it is believed to be one of the reasons why he had a rift with Danding Cojuangco. This was cited by sources interviewed by the Philippine Daily Inquirer. His decision to cut clean from Cojuangco just shows his sense of independence.

@welostit With Ondoy, since he is not God, he cannot prevent it. But he did not pass the test! He looked like a scared, wet cat in front of the cameras during the disaster. And as head of NDCC, we could have been more prepared for disasters. Sadly, under his leadership, the NDCC was not. It was BF BAYANI, who was prepared.

@dhrrychu Scared, wet cat? Maybe you saw him when he had just waded through almost chest-deep waters just to get to his office in Camp Aquinaldo. The NDCC is just a coordinator of different agencies involved in disaster response and relief and they just had to make do with what they had at the time. If you want an objective assessment of how the government handled the post-Ondoy operations, you should take the word of the United Nations, which commended the government for its quick response.

GIBO decried the decision by the DOJ to clear two members of the Ampatuan family from the suit. You reckon which is the real threat to the country?
