What an absolutely amazing version of this song!!!! Selah has the best version ever. God will always Raise Me Up no matter how low my soul gets. He has done it many times.
This song is very special to me because even though I fall God will always be there to raise me up God is always going to be there for you through the bad and good so dont feel left out or unloved because God loves you
God raised us up to more than what we can be!! Amen!! Our Lord Jesus believes in our potential to become greater and with Christ we can do greater works than what He did. God is always near to raise us up and no matter how much we may fall He is there to lift us up. Call upon the Lord and He will answer you.. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.. Praise God for Selah what beautiful worship the brings us to feel the presence of God..
Amen!! And if you don't believe in God, it's okay. Don't worry, we will try not to say that we told you so after you die and find out He is real. It's sad, really, and I pitty all of you. The worst punishment in life is to have no hope and no faith in a supreme being. But if that's how you roll, I'm praying for you, whether you like it or not. I know you will need it. God bless you.
I cry, yes cry, every single time I hear this song. How often I have needed Christ to come and raise me up and He has every single time. Apart from Him I can do nothing. Praise God and thank you Selah for your ministry.
"There is no life, no life without its hunger, each restless heart beats so imperfectly but when you come and i am filled with wonder, sometimes i think i glimpse eternity" beautiful!!!
"There is no life, no life without its hunger, each restless beats so imperfectly but when You come and i am filled with wonder, sometimes i think i glimpse eternity" beautiful!!!
When you are down, feeling so alone, where your soul is hurting so bad, tears in your eyes, and you feel like life has kicked you and the darkness is so heavy in you, put this song on...and remember that god does love you, and that you are never, ever, ever alone.......it has worked for me plenty of times. God bless you all, and may you have a blessed holiday season with your family.
I dont know about anyone else, but when those bagpipes come in, i friggin loose it, goosebumps and tears....what can i say it touches a part of my heart that isnt often touched. amazing.
who is the woman singing with them? That's not Nicol is it?? Her voice sounds different. maybe she was a transitional fill-in singer because I think this is around the time that Nicol left the group.
um, pardon me, is Selah a group or individual singer? i have this single but this is the 1st time i've seen this video! i'll be using this song for our church's fathers' day video!
@iluvrey4ever They are a group. They started out "officially" back in the 90's with Todd and Nicol Spondberg, a brother and sister who grew up in the Congo where their parents were missionaries, along with their good friend Alan Hall. Nicol left several years ago for a less demandign solo career so she could spend more time with her family. Amy Perry now fills out the group in place of Nicol.
Amazing Song!!!! It brings me into tears. This songs reminds me that no matter what happens Jesus and God will be there to raise me up and carry me if I fall and can't get up. God Bless You! Thank You so much for putting this song on here! WOW!!! :')
@Believerinchrist995 I think its really sad when people sing this song but not to God. People do that a lot. How could people sing such a good song, and not give glory to God?
@2benlovinbffs The original song was not written to god. Perhaps it was, but there is nothing in these lyrics that suggests this is about God. In fact, one could argue that the lyrics are not doctrinal at all. Of course, most "christian's" today could give a care if something is doctrinal...I'm merely pointing out that this is not a christian song, persay. Selah has a wonderful cover of this song tho!
@mywgac10 Why would you put Christians in quotation marks? And for your information I am a christian and I do care if something is doctrinal. True Christians that believe in the Bible believe that in everything you do do it for the glory of God. So don't tell me or any other christians what we care about, you wouldn't know, because you have made it pretty clear that you are not a christian.
Absolutely beautiful! What a talent and they are using it like God wants! Amazing!! God bless you all. Would love to see them live, do they travel the world?
@eXBouncers .I could never argue you that don't believe. But i say i believe. because of the feel i got when i first time i saw my son.Or the first time i fell in love, and the hope for something better then in this life.if you stop and look around you see him in every one face. You are good person. i think you will have your chance.Till then my peace be with you and good fortune.
@ravenoustheband god bless you. go to church. you will find god. he's real. who do you think created the world? these guys are good but praise them? . no no no!
@ravenoustheband umm well just to let u knw who do u think created u how dou think every man and womans structre can look alike ghow is it that every man have 1 less rib than women who do u think created the heavens and universe !!!!! duh dur God!!! hes not a fictional charceter hes 100% real and real life
@mrmcjigglez My mother and father silly. They look alike as we are all part of one animal......every man has one less rib as that is part of the genetic structure of this certain animal... Who do I think think created the Heavens, there isnt a heaven. And the universes...well thats the science/space part of which I dont have much knowledge of, but briefly I believe they are created by light, gases and other molecular reactions. You are an American arent you....ha ha..thought so
@mrmcjigglez You may want to check your facts before you start posting. It really makes the cause of Christ look completely ignorant when people insist that men have one less rib than women. If your finger were cut off, that wouldn't get passed down to your children. Just because Adam had his rib removed doesn't mean it was passed down to later generations. As Christians, we should be more careful about being accurate than our opponents. They can afford to be wrong; we can't.
Just for the corectness...the music was written by Secret Garden's Rolf Løvland and the lyrics by Brendan Graham. In 2001 this song had its first time performance in Ireland...sung by the Irish singer of Secred Garden...Brian Kennedy.
I heard Josh Groban's version beforew I heard this one, but this one is my favorite by far ! I'd heard it on the local Christian station several times before I heard who the artist was. Their voices are beautiful and put real meaning to the song ! Glad I found it on here !
Thanks. I didn't know that. I had heard his first so didn't know. I just knew that their version is much better and much more powerful. Thanks again for the info. I feally enjoy this group !
I like this song and Selah themselves but that's not correct. It was written and sung by Brian Kennedy for his band Secret Garden, Both Josh Groban's and Selah's versions are covers.
I found Selah singing YOU RAISE ME UP and fell in love with the song. Then, Josh Groban sang it and it became a huge hit. I know the song is an old folk song, but I thought Josh Groban should have given up the song to Selah and not adopt the song for his popularity. Without this song, Josh Groban is already multi-millionaire. It's just my 5 cents for struggling Christian singers. BTW, each singer of Selah has amazing voices.
Einstein is probably the best known and most highly revered scientist of the twentieth century, and is associated with major revolutions in our thinking about time, gravity, and the conversion of matter to energy (E=mc2). Although never coming to belief in a personal God, he recognized the impossibility of a non-created universe. The Encyclopedia Britannica says of him:
"Firmly denying atheism, Einstein expressed a belief in "Spinoza's God who reveals himself in the harmony of what exists." This actually motivated his interest in science, as he once remarked to a young physicist: "I want to know how God created this world, I am not interested in this or that phenomenon, in the spectrum of this or that element. I want to know His thoughts, the rest are details." Einstein's famous epithet on the "uncertainty principle" was "God does not play dice" -
and to him this was a real statement about a God in whom he believed. A famous saying of his was "Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind."
In optics, mechanics, and mathematics, Newton was a figure of undisputed genius and innovation. In all his science (including chemistry) he saw mathematics and numbers as central. What is less well known is that he was devoutly religious and saw numbers as involved in understanding God's plan for history from the Bible. He did a considerable work on biblical numerology, and, though aspects of his beliefs were not orthodox, he thought theology was very important.
In his system of physics, God is essential to the nature and absoluteness of space. In Principia he stated, "The most beautiful system of the sun, planets, and comets, could only proceed from the counsel and dominion on an intelligent and powerful Being."
A letter published in Nature in 1998 reported a survey suggesting that belief in a personal god was at an all-time low among the members of the U.S. National Academy of Science, only 7.0% of whom believed in a personal god as compared with more than 85% of the general U.S. population. A correlation indicating that religious conviction diminished with education level. An inverse correlation between religiosity and intelligence has been found by 39 studies carried out between 1927 and 2002.
And the Bible spoke about this hundreds of years ago. The Bible stated through one of the "intelligent" people of that time, Apostle Paul that God chose the foolish things of the world to confound the wisdom of the wise. God has hidden from the sight of so called intelligent people and revealed it to those who come to him with child like faith

What I need is fish so to beat some sense in to you. Your weak mind is still holding on to your dead religion as though it where your last breath. How sad your life is, unable to deal with the facts. Youre clearly suffering from madness you poor sap. Hopefully death will take you soon, then you will be finally free, from the retarded existence of this dim witted foolish grandeur you insist on continuing. Like the old saying goes you need it cuz your weak.
Obviously your negative outlook on life is coming through clearly in your comments . I am perfectly happy with my existence because I know why I am here and where I am going. I wish and pray that one day God will open your eyes to see the truth.
"a fish to beat you with?!" What are you, a merchant from the 1800s?
You claim that our religion is dead- that's obviously untrue considering how christianity is the most common religion in the world, followed by Judaism and Islam. Dont brand people 'ignorant,' or 'stupid' because your beliefs differ from anothers- you have the right to believe in whatever you want to and so do we so who are you to insult us on our beliefs?
And also, please update your manner of speaking, because you not only speak ignorantly, but misuse "big words" in your sentences. Lastly, and most frankly, attempting to sound superior or of higher intelligence by putting other people down is not only a sign of low self-esteem but of your deep necessity of God.
I am assuming you are an adult, so please act like one by both respecting others and having the dignity to understand that differences in beliefs, character and values are what make us individuals.
actually, no. The three most prominent religions in the world continue to be (as they have been for hundreds of years) Christianity, Judaism and Islam, in descending order of popularity and number of followers throughout the world. Actually, buddhism and hinduism are not all that popular. In fact, there are more buddhist in the US than there is in Asia, where the religion originated from.

God bless you.

I don't know the numbers, but I believe there are more Hindus and Buddhists than Christians in the world.
adevandry 2 years ago
actually, no.

Alexvan2001, you think Judaism is more popular than Islam? There are only 12 million Jews, 1.3 billion followers of Islam, and 2 billion Christians.
