They started out "officially" back in the 90's with Todd and Nicol Spondberg, a brother and sister who grew up in the Congo where their parents were missionaries, along with their good friend Alan Hall. Nicol left several years ago for a less demandign solo career so she could spend more time with her family. Amy Perry now fills out the group in place of Nicol.

In fact, one could argue that the lyrics are not doctrinal at all. If your finger were cut off, that wouldn't get passed down to your children. Just because Adam had his rib removed doesn't mean it was passed down to later generations. I found Selah singing YOU RAISE ME UP and fell in love with the song. Then, Josh Groban sang it and it became a huge hit. I know the song is an old folk song, but I thought Josh Groban should have given up the song to Selah and not adopt the song for his popularity. Without this song, Josh Groban is already multi-millionaire. It's just my 5 cents for struggling Christian singers. BTW, each singer of Selah has amazing voices.
