  • The A-4 was a little ball of fire, what a plane!

  • @NoPancakeMixxx our airforce RNZAF (royal new zealand airforce) used them from the early 70's up to 2002. Absolutly great aircraft "down low" in fact our a-4's were upgraded in the 80's and 90's with a "glass cockpit" that was basically the same layout of a f-16C, all work was done here in nz.We were supposed to upgrade our strike wing to f-16's but politics got in the road and the scrapped our strike wing. just last week the last of our skyhawks have been sold to collectors and other operators

  • this jet is underrated

  • We would do well to take lessons from this aircraft and how it was designed and built. Goes to show you that the most expensive and complicated is not necessarily the best!

  • Scooters rocked

  • I helped build this aircraft at Doglas Aircraft. Is great to see this site.Brings back the good times.

  • The thing that always amazed me was the amount of ordinance that could be hung on the A-4.

I have seen them catapulted off the deck with all the hard points full of 250lb bombs.

Total load must have been near 4000lb.

It was probably the most over-designed aircraft the Navy had...ever.

A VA-76 pilot actually killed a Mig with a Zuni fired from an A-4...now that's talent.

  • my dad flew the skyhawk, he got a slip disk because of the small cocpit! but, he still loved it. XD

  • I was proud to work on the A-4M.

  • I wonder if anyone privately owns a Skyhawk?

  • A Prison like McCann is a true piece of trash.

  • Great plane, It is true that the most advanced thing on the A4 was your watch. Simple, strong, and safe wonderful Jet.

  • any chance to share with us...plz!

  • very nice airoplane !!!!!!

  • formidable avion ...en malvinas " se lucio "

  • Which documentary series this came from?

  • LOVE the Wings series!

I remember one time in the Army (75-79) my squad was on a hill top and 2 A-4's screamed over at treetop level...bowled us over with the jet wash, and down the hill ! Was awesome! I could see the pilot's face in 1 of the planes looking down at us! Didn't even hear them coming until they were passing over.

  • A superb document !

  • @ jaglavaksoldier-You wouldn't happen to have the entire Wings episode of the A-4, would you?

  • Yes, I sure do...

  • Under $900,000.00 a piece!

  • Bad ass little jet.
