@coolmadzy26434 That's because pitbulls are a bad breed, and have a genetic issue which makes their brains grow too big for their skulls. Sometimes it happens early on, sometimes it takes 5+ years.

@Steelworker216 you're kidding right, there has been no reported cases of anything like this affecting pit bulls, ever, it's yet another unfortunate rumour they get tagged with that drags them down, they're no more prone to human aggression than any other breed, they just happen to fall into the hands of crap owners all the time.

I'm reasonably sure that there is only one breed that suffers from this disease, its the cavalier king charles spaniel, not exactly a man eater either.

This video had good points, but the title is totally misleading...not once does he address how to get your dog to stop barking. Just change the title to "how to select a crate for your dog," and you'll have an excellent well-informed video.

yeah you should change the title of the video, but I think these tips are helpful! I got a wire cage and my cage pulled the sheet off my bed into the crate and shredded it to pieces! I ended up getting a plastic crate in the end.

Well if you actually listened to the video, you would have heard him say something about the training part.....the cardboard. If your dog is in the kennel and can see from all sides, hes gonna be barking cuz he can see you. To avoid the barking, cover the sides to limit his visuals on you. That was it tho :( What about if your dog is barking all night tho, in the dark while ur trying to sleep? He can't see you cuz lights are out....

I use a rabit/guinea pig pen. Its big enough for his dog bed, food bowls and toys to go in. and he loves it. The plastic crate idea is poop. sorry but it is, My dog barks and whines when he cant see me, and so its pointless to make so he cant see me.

Plus i love waking up to look over and see my yorkie looking back at me from the other end of my room.

Hi, with my puppy, the thing i did was to ignore it (don't look at it as well) and go about your normal daily activity for a bit (don't leave him in there too long, because he/she needs to go potty). Mine stopped after 45 minutes and then went to sleep exhausted from the barking/whining. It may seem cruel at first and you may have the urge to take it out, but don't it's for its own good.

@3171 I got mine to stop barking(ignoring didn't work) by yelling SHUTUP loudly and shaking a can of pennies with the lights off. VOILA!! NO MORE BARKING OR YAPPING NOW:D

Hi, dogs are creatures of habit. I put him in the crate at 8pm, by 8:45pm-9pm he's sound asleep. He now (2 years later) sleeps at 8-9pm every night by jumping into his crate (door now removed) and goes to bed. My neighbors and I are separated by a single wall, and I never had any complaints. The key is to crate him/her early during the night, that's why I chose 8pm. He also goes to the potty every morning when he wakes up, after he has food/water and before he goes to bed.

He also wakes me up every morning at 6am for breakfast :) and sits at his bowl at 5pm for dinner. Just train your pup into the routine that fits your lifestyle the best. Also when you let your pup out in the morning to go to the potty, you should say something like "quickly quickly" or "go go go go go" so when you need him/her to go potty for any reason (e.g. car trip) he/she will go. Crate and potty training happen at the same time, no need to do them separately.
