Buddy, Loreena McKennitt is known to make celtic songs for more than 10 years, this song has celtic mood on it, I don't see where you got this idea that this song was supposed to be like "we can fly away", the lyric and rhythm aren't even the same.

Just because of the sharper voice? Friendly saying, I think that when they thought of the "mood" the song would give, they wanted not to just give a magical tone to it, but a majestic feeling as well. More than fairies, they are part of of a whole culture. I feel glad that Disney decided to get out of all this "give the public what they want" for a moment to work of something that values other cultures respectfully, people liking it or not. *sigh* I feel a little sad knowing that kids nowadays are only interested in "High school musical", "Hannah Montana" and all those disney series. Nothing against them, but it seems that those things don't fill the kids with the proper messages like if you were showing the real deal to them (like the earlier 2D movies of Disney: Beauty and the beast for example, learned that one shouldn't judge someone else for its appearance; they got straight to the point instead of coil).
