  • Great job guys!

  • Metallica :D

  • I can easily do the regular hammer like the guy did in the video. I need the bigger one to try now.

  • the sledgehammer work is a great idea. thanks for that

  • LOL!

  • good but ur bad at tire flipping

  • dude

  • Dude indeed, how ya' been man?

I need to drop you and email. My backs about all healed.

  • Hey man, thats cool. I never thought of anything like that. My budies and I have been setting up some training in an attempt to prepare for our first strongman comp, check our video out and give us some ffedback if you dont mind. Anaconda Strength Club on youtube

  • very good training video 5 stars

  • crazy!!.. good stuff

  • Irish,

I totally agree. That was an early attempt. i got much more strict as I trained it. Lately, however, I haven't been trainig the lever so it would probably look as bad again.

  • Not a knock. I lever a 16lb hammer myself, your levering hand really needs to be shoulder level or a bit higher and the head of the sledge needs to be lowered as closed to vertical, try rolling the head back and letting the hammer hover above your face, its intense but it looks like your almost there anyway.

  • Vyvial,

That one's a 12 in the video, if I recall. I have since done a 16 but it's been a while and I'm out of practice at the moment.

Beyond that, training is well. Thanks for asking. I have taken a few month off from strongman to lost some weight. I amd currently about 240 (depending on the day) which is 25 - 30 pounds lighter than in the video. You can follow it all at anvilorhammerDOTus

  • 16lb sledge lever? That's pretty intense. What was the weight of the stone? How's the the training coming along?

  • oops, forgot to mentiont he stone. That one is 243 if I recall. I have since shouldered it and done a 275 and, if I recall correctly, a 290.

  • what does that hammer thing train? where you hold it down to your head??

  • Sam,

That is called levering. It can be done a whole bunch of ways but what I did there was probably the most traditional. It exercises the forearms and wrist. It's just good fun too. You can check out gripboard . com or The Grip Master's Manual by John Brookfield for more info.
