In some of the scenes, they seem to just drive round the same block several times. It's funny to see the same corner garage appear again and again. Other thing to to look for is the way shadows change direction between shots. You get an idea of how the final cut was put together.

Does anyone know the meaning behind their famous "L.A. 15 7 Mary 3 & 4"? Is this just a t.v. thing for added dramatic effects, or does it have any meaning in real life? I'm guessing it has to do with jurisdiction if so.

@jfpinell OK, L.A. is self explainatory, 15 is the seriel number for the station they were assigned to. Mary is the common radio code for the letter M, which designated that it was a motorcycle unit, 3&4 would be assigned numbers to the individual officers for designating themselves on the radio with the dispatchers and other officers.
