  • @gtjumper +1

  • what a waste of a beautiful desk

  • The Beatles have the highest album sales in total in the U.S. They have sold almost 107,000,000 albums in the U.S. recorded on a 4 track.

  • to behonest with ya you have the money but not the talent.

  • keep doing what you do.

  • bitches, he know what he is doing

U all just wishing u been mixing with a ssl board ha ha

    Losers

at lest he trying to do something

Even If he was in some school or college

but what u been doing u LOOOOOOOSER

    ?

  • damn people need to stop hating that shit is tight and the gear is sick

  • my god all that gear and your making this crap man!!! have you ever heard of a guitar, mellow brother...!!! wooooo wheres the stop button!!

  • man, stop smokin drugs... salvage what little is left of your brain already!!

  • All the gear no idea talentless cunt

  • has no clue what the outboard gear is

  • You know whah i'm sayin?

  • you know what i say ?? noooooooooooo

  • you're clippin almost half your outputs!

  • I could have done this on a $200 keyboard.

  • Well you seem to be very proud of your equipment and you should be. I wish the music community would be more supportive to the direction of the youth instead of fueling them with more misguiding comments.

  • you seem to be really proud and happy of your SSL... Fine, now start trying to make stuff with it ! :)) EXTRAORDINARY SSSSSSHHHHHIITTTT... Sorry man, this video really sucks.

  • he's just moving faders....that's not what MIX means Mr. "you know what i'm sayin"

  • u sir have not a damn clue what ur doing, and ur dirtying up that amazing bored with shit music learn to play an instrument or how to produce fucking a. btw its not cause its rap its cause its shity music.

  • You sir, are a douche bag.....

Play the same loop again... go on... i dare you...

  • Multi hundred thousand dollar setup.... For this?

  • seriously this guy has no idea what he is doing...he is showing off for the camera pushing lots of buttons that do nothing aside from occasionally soloing a track with nothing on it...extraordinarily shit...$20 says this was shot in a music college somewhere and this guy is doing some crappy sound production course before he ends up back on the til at macdonalds

  • bullshit

  • This guy really likes to make sure that people know what he's sayin'

  • and do take the trash with you, we always knew you stole the begals b i a t ch!

  • you get yo butt out of my room weesle, i had no idea you got access to my studio, your FIRED!

  • Херня музыка, ни о чем))) Толку с этой панели))

Damn shit music. Nothing About. Senseless using of this console, when you have no good idea of the song.

  • what are the lyrics to the song?

  • Now if only TRUE beat producers would ditch all the same lame ass keyboards and start making some ORIGINAL sounds. We've heard and are sick of the same Motif, Phantom or whatever, y'hear?

  • SOUNDS GOOD BRO ...

  • The quality of the sound is amazing! Your a good engineer.

    Nice vid!

  • big up SSL

  • That's business.

Every nigga on youtube say they can bang but not one of dem mofuckas can make a god dam beat.

    props

  • wow ya know what, this is Extra Ordinary, this work could be done on any mixer from ebay, peace, and what if a white guy were to say the words here

    peace,

  • ya know what, this is EXTRA ORDINARY, not anyone can work on this desk, so having the chance to put this level of crap on, around, and in a prized jewel like this is really kinda like wrong, not to mention what would happen if a white guy were to produce this track, cant say some words ya know, peace nigggggggaaaaaaaaa

  • I see why you have haters! It seems like you mixed an instrumental on an SSL when it could have been done within the DAW... You shouldve had some vocals and a completed track b4 posting... plus you didnt show or explain the outboard gear... You said thats pro tools HD. i wanted to know what some of the gear was besides the obvious focusrite red, etc...

  • Don't be afraid to talk technical dude. Obviously, there are people who watch this and don't know what the fuck you are doing, but there are minorities. Give them some details on the outboard equip. Show it off man. Good shit.

  • OMG I Hate People Using 808 Drums On A Pro Mixer

    Make Own Drums A Tip...

  • hey wut school r u in??? cuz im doing engineering too!!

  • what school are u in... are u in fullsail?

  • Comment removed

  • @mrpeanutbuttercup08 That definitely looks like one of Fullsail's SSL rooms.

  • I know what an SSL is , too bad your putting crap into it....you know what im saying >>?/

  • digital all the way man plugins ans shit

  • Im going to agree with d3tach3d.

  • Does he know what 'Nigger' means?

  • the talent matters the most..if your good your good..but the hardware matters also..good production matters alot also..a producer that knows how n when to find the loud sounds he has..an engineer with a good ear n gear..an artist thats a recording artist who don't depend on studio magic so much..oh ya i nice $3000 mic to

  • @bosshogindog actually you dont need a 3000 dollar mic for a good recording..the majority of the music you listen to...was not done using a 3000 dollar mic. there is no such thing as a crappy microphone.

  • @audiofreak4000 i've been recording almost 20 years..you have no clue wtf your talking bout..now go get ya $50 mic from radio shack n sound like you write lil fuck boy..

  • oh and one more thing, I have mastered quite a few albums, and I do realize that ssl gear is awesome. The comment about the earinger. the midrange, will become quite annoying, yes if your recording the beatles, or so.. good music makes great masters, great music makes platinum records, you can't polish a terd, but we need the right gear to polish it, with a HD society, sometimes a great mix doesn't necassarily mean the cleanest highest quality.. neve, ssl, api, digi, musicians make it happen

  • ssl is a leading standard recording quality with a clean punchy sound, used by such as dr dre, and 80 percent of the music field. It brings life and punch to almost anything, the preamps, compressors and eq's are what gives it that ssl sound. on the other tip manley and avalon, api, and others can match. pro tools hd, ran through a ssl preamp, and back in, can add ssl sound.. its all about your outboard hardware, and altering plug ins. But nice work doing something right to bearoundit

  • "you know i mean"

  • "you know what I'm saying"

  • First of all, this is a bunch of computerized junk. No "real" audio producing happening. maybe one audio channel using a mic. the rest is a bunch of synth sounds going direct to channels. BFD. Lots of people producing better in their little home studios. One could produce a better sound than this with Garage Band.

  • hmm..i was expecting a lot better than this.

  • @2real2touch He's at his school. This isn't his studio. The school is called SAE Institute. You can tell by the lanyard that's around his neck. The room is set up the exact same as the SSL console room in Atlanta.

  • @chesteroo1234 So what? i was talking about his shitty production not about the studio conditions dude.

  • sounds like the beat was made on a roland fantom, thats why it sounds cheesy... just my opinion

  • now correct me if i'm wrong... but doesn't wearing a hat change the frequency response of your hearing some... there for making you hear different sounds coming out of the mix than whats actually there...

  • @watchout4thedoor yes it does. the frequencies reflect differently off the hat. even if its backwards

  • It doens't care if you have a SSL or AMEK or a cheap Behringer. When you are blessed with creativity and talent you'll have a great sound and great music. I respect every musician, but the result with this equipment is not satisfactorily, respectively damn bad.....

  • WORD!

  • thousands of dollars worth of equipment for the sounds of an 80's beat machine. I cant even imagine how beat making can use that amazing consoles potential.

  • you're right. this is a waste of money. such a low quality sounds.

  • @d3tach3d u'd be surprised...

  • @d3tach3d

    jealous

  • @d3tach3d That's exactly the point I try to prove. These overpriced boards are obsolete for the price. The only good these still do is if you don't use computers AT ALL to make your music That includes Beat machines. These thing were neccesary wayy back when all you had was an audio tape and nothing to add effects to it but the audio boards. Now you can have all this inside a DAW as simple as fl studio

  • @d3tach3d - many people today bu these SSL boards simply for routing out of their daw's and into the pre's / EQ . Outside of this video, no one knows how this guy integrates this board into his workflow. Hye may have out-board, he may record many live instruments etc etc

besides, even an '80s beat machine' would sound great through this.....if you want the SSL sound, then buy the SSL sound....This guy did.

  • @tbizhere - Jay Z's producer for example loves his SSL desk, most people that were around before digital recording really kicked off were used to arranging their tracks and mixing on a desk in front of them. Many Rap/hip-hop producers today still love mixing on boards because of their workflow and of course because of that SSL sound

  • damn (calypsobober) is a str8 hater on you boy!!!! keep doing yo thang, you got em hating on ya like that!!!! cats get mad at me cause we record at doppler and they still sitting on their beds recording on fl studio.... this game is for strong, you weak niggas step aside!!!!! extra ordinary

  • Comment removed

  • dont have words for it... expensive studio with a cheap beat maker

  • looolll! ahhahahahahhahaha

  • and then i havent even listened to the vocals... let that to the pro's, not to the extra ordinary's...

  • sounds pretty ok to me?

  • WHAT SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • my mother always say, "God give bread to people with no teeth"...meaning that he got all Top of the line gear that many of us are dying for and this cat Gangsta "wanna-be" has it and dont know how to take advantage of it.

  • SSL, Pro Tools HD ,... for such shit !!!

    That hurts !

  • NO i dont know what your saying tryin to hear you say it not hear you spit ego. lots of crackle and you might be showing how you get down but trust when i say...your skills suck. nothings extraordinary about a man spitting garbage about something he isnt the master of. your renting a studio and you dont know how to use the gear...so what extraordinary..your words dont make sense and your sibilance is shit. so WHAT were you saying. you need help? you need a producer? you need the exit sign bro

  • you dont need equiptment that expensive to make a crap recording like that , get yourself a boombox and an alley with good acoustics ..boombox 10 bucks ....alley ..free ..crackheads and hookers always an option to get dat pardie started Boyz ,,,,,,why do they use that racist word nigga?...i thought they hate dat shit! they are racists towards themselves, the whiteman is not to blame , just blame the people that hate that word but call themselves it all the time ! nigga out,,,boy in!

  • Pants...falling down...MORE COMPRESSION, never stop compressing.

  • Every time that you patch somenthing you need to cut the SSL!!!!

    Unskill user !!!

  • You need a plug-in called "Ego-Converter", you plug your ego into the input and it converts it to talent. In your case, whatever you do, don't plug your talent into the input and convert it to ego or you'll be hiding under the bed for six months. Know what I'm sayin'?

  • Such an Incredible machine, but what a embarrassing and unskillful user

  • you don't need that fl studio is the best

  • Comment removed

  • lol i cud dig it!

  • rofl you're such a hack...all this gear and pure garbage coming out.

    get over yourself kid.

  • inbox mixing faster

  • talent is with knowing how to work the SSL

beat keeps reminding me of the crash of 97 when nails in the coffin of rap were hammered hard

the jay z shock and awe worked for like a few tracks in late 90's then that got boring

    culture stands still ... still

respect tho' for posting and explaining what you do young folks - i believe you believe that is tight -

gwan check some rare soul and disco funk music and apply that. lot of possibilities with you - Peace - JD

  • at the lab? a track i produced?lol stop trying to make yourself look professional . you look like a nigger bum lmao. you are no musician. there are 12 year producerso n you tube who wipe the floor with your face. you are a nobody lmao @ this crap.

  • thanks for tje video

  • Nice track - SSL's are starting to look like somethin from the past tho - you can pick em up for 10 - 20K - used to be like 200 plus

  • If you find a SSL for 10-20k on which everything works? Well, that's like winning a lottery (highly unlikely). The maintenance on a large format console alone will set you 10-20k back a YEAR. Because of this, the 10-20k price you mentioned isn't quite valid. Any large console in 'good' will still go for 50k (old 4k or perhaps aws 900) up to 200+k for consoles in mint condition. A brand new 48channel Duality is around 320k. Nothing beats mixing on a large format console though. Nothing!

  • hey jr, what did you make that supersaw on? (1.15)

Sounding pretty tight, loving the big impact sound, sounding epic!

  • thats at sae atlanta im going thier at the moment

  • Respect!!!

  • Did you rent that studio or do you own it? How much does that SSL cost?

  • Own it? Come on man, that can't be a serious question. It's a school.

  • I'm sorry I hated 4eal. Get your paper lol.

  • Ey I'm only 13 I have no right hating on his music. I'm sorry I came out of line I didn't even really know what a SSL is

  • Yo You tube fam!!! preciate all the comments . . .the love and the hate . . .even though its obvious half of you guys have no idea what an SSL is used for . . . but its all good . . .we all have to learn . . .New video coming soon!!

  • @drummerboyjrob ..can't really blame the hate. Not a whole lot of mixing going on ..other than some small eqing, some busing and soloing some tracks. Nice video anyway. I like the HD rig. Gotta love being in the studio!

  • @drummerboyjrob Ive worked on many

E series total G PLASMA METERS

    G series 4040 with 2002 that FADERS 5.1

  • If he's mixing it then that makes sense

  • Yes but I'm sayin like if u have a SSL console u must have skills to get u that SSL console. Like the beat he's making here is like basic Pro Tools status. Idk maybe I'm trippin but I don't feel like u need a console as nice as the one he's using to make this beat.

  • Give me some SM58s and a Tascam tape deck and I'll get the job done. Of course I will edit in protools :)

  • Fruity Loops sucks.

  • naw what im sayyin?

  • hey man, keep doing your stuff, keep practicing on the SSL, someday all these dudes, and others will have great respect for you! Blessings and encouragement to your endeavors.

  • This beat is wack for using such a sexy ass console. He should be coming up wit Neptunes type shit using a SSL this big

  • It's not the hardware that makes the beat, it's the musical ability. I've seen a lot of people use very good hardware (Euphonix System 5-MC, SSL AWS 900, SSL Matrix, etc.) but make jack shit with it. The producers beat is only as good as his talent put into it.

  • Do you know what a console is?

  • why so much hate ?

  • Are you kidding me? This kat probably needed a lesson on how to use the patch bay, and route insert sends and return to aux buss'. but instead I give the man props because he decided to take the easy way out and use the onboard compressor's which I personally enjoy watching the board light up and do the work in analog world. instead of in a POS DAW. SSL Compressors are amazing on a G+4k series.

  • this shit is whack. It would have been nice to see him working on the board to its full potential instead of routing stereo signals on the monitor. multitrack mix session! not some back track stereo "beatz" with a vocal. what is there to mix...nothing

  • All he did was bring the tracks up on the board.....Then solo them......and turn the master volume up and down. Did he say outboard gear....lol.... there are no patch cables in the patch bay. They are just sitting there in the bottom left corner. He should stick to smoking weed in the break room

  • What's your point?

  • How convenient.

  • It's amazing how everybody that comments know than the people in the video. Now that's convenient.

  • Know than what? More? If so. In this case, yes. I know the 4k very well and it's obvious this dude is a bit lost on the board. He seems to know very basic stuff at most and isn't really doing anything. He certainly isn't mixing, that's for sure.

His other stuff is alright but he certainly isn't an engineer.

  • LMAO..you're a funny dude..your beats are too. Who's to say any of that man..just watch him do what he do...my point is anybody can say what they want..I still don't know that you know anything so it's pointless..let the man work.

  • What's on my private page has nothing to do with what I do for a living. Read what's in the info section if you will. I just ordered an SSL AWS 900+ SE (based on the E and G series) for the new place. I know these boards well. Believe what you believe, fine by me. I didn't diss the guy either. I just commented on the fact that he seems a bit lost. If you would have read my comment correctly, you would have seen that. Ignorance is bliss.

  • That's cool bro. Have fun with your new toys pimpin, but for the record I understood your comment fully I just thought it was pointless.

  • It still seems you didn't. That's ok though. Opinions are fun. As are 'toys'.

  • Oh, you're one of them that can't handle disagreements..calm down brother.

  • ?.. I had an opinion too. Hypocrite :p.

This could go on and on. I'm done.

    Business is calling me.

  • Hypocrite? that's funny.

  • Yes and no. He would be 'better of' on a smaller console but using a console is more than just for what it can do, it's also how it sounds.

Going back to what it can do. If you need dynamics on every channel then good luck with your Mackie ;). Same goes for analog automation.

In this case it is overkill because the dude obviously knows too little to use it to it's full potential. He looks a bit awkward and lost on the board.

    I'm a professional engineer.

  • an experienced / wannabe producer would have had their dynamics/sample choices sorted well before laying out a mixdown on an SSL board,he doesn't seem to be focussed on the sound too much but fumbling looking for the controls,he's not very comfortable using it, you get better results from using gear you know, hope this guy can afford lots of hours to finally realise how much it's overkill for what material he's mixing anyway.

  • make some new vids

  • interesting, u know quite a bit about mixing consoles and and sound engineering, are you a engineer ?

  • how was it a over kill?

  • :) "Uh, yeah, can you solo up the Lead Vox? I'm hearing a bit too much 2k when 'extra-ordinary nigga' comes in. And can you pull up Vocalign while you're at it? I mean, 'nigga' is kinda feeling flabby on beat 4. Thanks man, and go grab me a juice from the lounge."

  • How can you truely hear his mix being its not patched into a stereo feed for us to hear properly you can judge his mix based on this playback!

All you can do is watch him and and enjoy watching him mix!

  • Comment removed

  • patch bay looks awfully empty. Might as well stayed ITB.

  • true i cant even see it connected to anything

  • this dude was prolly sittin in on a recording session and got someone to film him real quick after everyone left LOL

  • lmao

  • HOTT new SONG on my page it hott people new track for the summer pass it on.....

  • thats a hot beat.

  • Nice work. It's great that you're taking the time to adjust your levels in the mix and not just making it sound like your slamming a mix against a wall hoping something will stick.

  • What a waste of an SSL!!

  • cosign

  • hey this is pretty fire man i like it skills wish i get a setup like that ne ways heyyy check me out i got a mean tpain remix on ma page take care peace n keep crankin out that bangers

  • haha...watching the video i think i answered my own question. You were switching on the mains WITH the near fields on as well.

  • By the way, I dig your style. Keep doin what you're doing. I hear some phasing issues throughout the mix when you hit some buttons on the ssl. I'm thinking maybe the camera?

  • Am i right?

  • Full Sail

  • This really proves that good equipment doesn't make a good producer.

  • just sounds like you opened a default presets in some DAW, and rearranged them.

and compression isn't going to give you more depth, it will level your dynamic range and give/take punch, attack and/or clarity, but it isn't going to shape a sound on a flat sample that is quick transients... and try layering, on your drum and bass loops

  • I don't think adding a compressor will add depth to the kick as you are taking away away from the dynamics. It would make your kick more controlled. RATIO, THRESHOLD then MAKUP GAIN. Quick attack and mid or auto release. Eq after the compressor. Didn't see you do any of that. I would suggest you stop using the stupid ass phrase "you know what I'am sayin" Not very professional.

  • "you know what im sayin!!!"

  • Sounds like something I would hear from Drumma Boy or Shawty Redd. The beat is FIRE.

  • Hm. I just mixed something on this very same board last week. <_< So not saying anything.
