  • yes this is true but there is a thing called balck water extract that will make them breed over night also make sure your tank is clean first and all so one more thing make sure that the fish are a pair i have been breeding angle fish for 35 years now and it is fun once you know how

  • anything thats flat i guess, flat and smooth, angel fish in the wild breed and broad leaved plants, like plants with nice wide leaves, they are used to spawning on vertically placed positions or diagonallly placed objects(from about id say 40 degrees-90 degrees angle, or get a brazilian sword pland) but the black stuff is probably black beard algae, and best way to get rid of that is to use reverse osmosis or demineralised water/ cut down on trace elements or fertiliser (phospate and nitrate )

  • my love for you and your fish tank is uncontrolable.

  • o ta ^^

cept i only have the angel fish now :p

  • thats upsetting...it will have a friend once you get katorah

  • silly billy, they're from completely different places in the world!! they will both surley die if i put them in together ;p

Besides, katorah isn't going to be mine no more :(

  • dude what? why isnt katorah no longer in existance.

the music in this video is inspiring.

  • katorah isn't in exsistance because I'm getting clown fish instead of seahorses for a while ^^

  • :( thats so sad. i love seahorses.

  • Who doesn't? :p

Its just they're expensive, and hard to look after, so i will in a few years or so =]

  • k...well me allison and rachel will be waiting for that day..and im sure future katorah is excited as well

    :)

  • slate should be placed vertical. it will give you or tank dimension instead of being smothered in the sand/gravel.

  • oh :(

Maybe i should find a bigger peice? Is that what you're suggesting?

  • black slime or black algae only grow when light is not sufficient. green algae will bloom when there is too much light with a combination of high levels of nitrate.

  • thankyou, i've now got the light on for an hour longer for a test, it seems to work now :D thanks!

  • i love your fish tank :P

  • why thankyou ^^

    Do you have one?? :)

  • no...but i have a kittn

  • haha cool ^.^

  • Maybe the algae eaters are part of the problem too, they love to eat plants. Dont buy algae eaters, because they cause more problems than they can help. Put in some fast growing plants. Make sure your filtration system is okay. Reduce the time with light on: Maximum 12 hours, minimum 10 hours. Protect the tank from daylight.

    Looks like blue algae.

  • I don't have any algae eaters anymore, and you're the first person who has said against them (A good thing) Right now, i've cut all the leaves of the plants, so they're just stems, and the light is on from 5pm till 10.30pm :)

It;s also kinda in a dark corner of my room.

    :) Is that ok??

  • Its ok.

  • I think maybe it is the bad kind of algae that is not edible. Green algae is the best kind for your fish to eat.

  • but what should i do to it to DESTROY IT?? :(

  • Maybe get a more powerful filtration system. If I were you I would take my fish out and put them in a temporary tank and clean that tank really well and even run it for a few days with some of that algae destroyer stuff. Wait is this a salt water tank?

  • No it's not saltwater, it's freshwater :)

Today i took one of the plants to the fish shop and they just said its algae and i was like >:(

So cutting (pun intended) the long story short, I cut off all of the leaves from all of the plants (theres only 3) And i'm hoping when they grow back, it will be black slime free. At first when i took them all out, i tried just rubbing them, but the stuff wouldn't budge :(

  • the tank looks kind of big, how many gallons? and the plant problem... most likly there is alge growing. dont leave your light on as much and get snails and alge eaters, anything that will eat alge.

  • its not big at all :) Its 15 english galloens i think, but i get so confused with galloens and litres and english litres and american gallons and all of that lot :/

And about the plants, I have had loads of algae eaters, and it doesn't make a difference, and the light is only on in the evening :( But thanks for the help ;)
