People were stunned at its performance - it was untouchable. Bet it would still be able to shoot down a B-1/Tu-160.

No, the one which crashed, was overloaded by the pilots, so a wing snapped of.

But the Concorde is no fighter craft as well, it has also limits in it's maneuvers.

And in fact it is proven it is no design espionage, cause that plane was the first one in the air, braking the sound barrier and transported passengers 1 year before Concorde did!

It is in fact a genius design, because it only costs half of the Concorde's price, switching the reverse thrust with a parachute.

And it was in the air before Concorde and also broke the sound barrier before Concorde did...it even was the first SST, transporting passengers...but the soviet union suffered extreme problems, so their program only lasted a short time. But 16 planes were made, one is still in service as a laboratory, for the NATO and Russia.

But the TU-144 is cheaper to manufacture than Concorde and has more maximum speed, but less range. It's missing reverse thrust, but has a parachute instead.

@Pvjinflight look, the planes only faults where, the fact that they couldn't find good enough engines, and that it wasn't practical at the time, again because of the engines, other then that it was fine, and that crash happened in the Paris air show due to the fact that french mirage came over tu-144 and the pilots maneuvered to avoid a collision, which caused the plane to pitch sharply down, because the plane went 90 degrees down it couldnt take the stress, the concorde would have been the same

I love this plane! It had soo much potential... Unfortunately the engines and air frame construction and design did not get the refinement it needed. The later 144LL model showed some promise, giving it a similar range and efficiency to that of the concorde. What killed this airplane, was the airframe construction. They used large metal sections on the airframe with bad alloys. Cracks started forming on the airframes. Wikipedia has a great article on the 144, I would encourage anyone to read it.
