I dont know if i did something wrong. My friend game me his ipod, i want to get rid of all his songs but he bought some of his songs form itunes, and in order to get rid of his songs i need to sync it. so.... now i have a ipod with shitty songs, help plz

I actually tried this earlier today. My husband has an iPod Touch and I have a Classic. I wanted to put my songs on his Touch so I could use it at work. However, when I put the songs on there, not only did iTunes crash/freeze several times, but the songs that made it on are mixed up in that, for example, a part from the middle of the song plays first, then a different part that doesn't belong, all through the song. Did I do something wrong? Can I fix it? Any help would be appreciated. <3
