Leftenant Colonel tavington was supposed to be bassed on leftenant Ban Tarleton and he was the complete opposite of Tavington, ecven their accents, Tarlteton had a Lancashire accent, not a typical oxford english accent like Tavingtons. Type it in google, and read it, they were 2 different people, its just the director wanted to make Tavingto a power hungry officer.

But i prefer Tavington.
