The emphasis in this show is on the talk between the players, and the hand's themselves. Whereas in WSOP or other shows it about the all-in dramas, here we get to see some actual poker.

The commentator might not be the most insightful, but I *much* prefer this type of poker coverage. The only downside is the that the players have changed from their usual plays *because* of the type of coverage.

Most people know Shieky from the incident between him and Matusow at the WSOP main event (I think that's how most people know but I could be wrong). Shieky folded and would have floped a monster and banged his fists on the table then started talking about the hand before the hand was over. Mike and him exchanged words. When I get a great hand (would have been) when I fold it drives me CRAZY!! But I wouln't bang my fists (I hope). But Shieky does have a smug look on his face

I think that people are jerks to him during games because there's MONEY ON THE TABLE, and they know they can get under his skin easily.

However, you might notice that the people that play with him often don't really needle him that much (and only playfully).  So, actually, the case may be that only people that are concerned with their ability to play against him need to needle him in order to help them beat him.
