  • Thanks for posting this. Do you know where I buy a copy of this? I've searched on amazon and couldn't find it.

  • Very gorgeous ending!

  • Thank you very much for this ballet!! i love this reconstruction!

    do you know the year?

  • 2008

  • Thank's!!

  • No! I've never seen any photos of Daugher that show off the mise en scen or set--would love to.

One question about the reconstruction Act III set--how come the Kirov/Sergeyev version used in the back a *real* fountain but the reconstruction uses a painted one it seems? I alays assumed the orgiinal 1890 production used real fountains as well (at least in the DVDof the Act 3 done for the New Year's Eve gala it's clearly a painted fountain)

  • LOVE the old school apotheosis all the classic ballets had. Always wondered what Nutcracker's must ahve looked like what with the tableax of bees

  • have you ever seen photos of Petipa's final revival of "Pharoah's Daughter" in 1898? Now THAT was an apotheosis.....perhaps some of the most masterful decor I have ever seen in any of the old ballets. The dance of the hunstresses was danced in a massive jungle set.
