  • hahahahaha that was my dads station at the end

  • btw, my family did just fine for this storm, we still have to replenish our groceries and and money after the cost of gas for generators and basic survival through the power outages but it could have been so much worse. the good lord spared us again, really.

  • houma is one of the coolest places ever, i know this being a lifelong resident. i rode out this storm in thibodaux, about 5 miles north of houma, and i found thibodaux had more damage than houma did. as far as the oil field, unlike new orleans, there are oil field companies everywhere you look in houma, literally everywhere. i definitely say houma is a major oil field city, new orleans is a major port city. hurricanes are part of life here, live it and love it, regardless.

  • I found it a little disturbing that Jim Cantore was in Houma (where it hit) and he filmed nothing much, really. A bit of roofing fly away. But so there was so much coverage about New Orleans. Houma is where the damage occured. I've always been a fan of Jim but I truly was disappointed. There is better ametuer footage online than what Jim produced.

  • first of all Houma is 60miles southwest of New Orleans, in fact New Orleans had very little damage this time around. secondly, New Orleans is one of the most culturly rich places in the world. New Orleans is the heart of the oil transportation in the US. maybe we shouldnt rebuild your town when whatver happens to it.

  • Where the fuck do you think all those oil rig crews fly into? HOUMA.

  • They fly into Houma, Port Fourchon, and Golden Meadow. So it's not just New Orleans.

  • some people said that New Orleans must rebuild? Boy, they regret it saying again.
