  • This was on the doriotos commercial

  • Sounds better without the wind instruments... Still good though.

  • doesnt sound this relaxing when i play it whith a trombone xD

  • Perfectly played. The 7 dislikes must be from neonazi skinheads who don't like this orchestra because it's from Israel, LOL!

  • Simon is funny from Yogscast

  • you spelled edward wrong

  • @blackstands It IS Edvard!

  • proud to be norwegian.

  • Did anyone else spent 2 years looking for the name of this song?

  • @EntetieZ143 i googled what it was used for and got it

  • @EntetieZ143 I remember it from the old Merry Melodies cartoons.

  • Wow, that's so beautiful. Their dynamics are perfect, flawless. I'm playing this in a concert on Thursday, really inspiring.

  • I love morning wood.

  • I HATE this song because every non-classic-listener says that´s the best melody they ever heard !

  • @StreetPerforming

but you have to admit it's quite a piece..i love it :D, ahh but i still think pachelbel canon is the best melody...(in my opinion at least)

  • @StreetPerforming u know this is one of my favourite melodies and i know and listen to classical music

  • @StreetPerforming but it is

  • @SPIKEJONES12211

No, definetly not. This belongs to the list of "easy to understand" music , like Carmina burana, Quattro Stagioni, Beethoven 5th , Canon and so on.

Everytime I hear form somebody thats the best melody, I know that this person hasn´t listened to composers like Tschaikovsky, Brahms , Mendessohn , Rachmaninov because these are OVER 9000 times better than Pachebel, Orff and composers like that!

  • @StreetPerforming but it is

  • @StreetPerforming I would not use the word 'best'. Because you cannot say 'best' in classical music. You should say 'different' instead. There is NO best melody in classical music. But I mostly agree with you.

  • @StreetPerforming Orff was an incredible composer, under incredulous circumstances. Despite itsrelatively undeserved fame, very few pieces can touch the drama of his most famous piece.

  • i have this song set to my alarm clock..... the best way to start the day is with this song gently waking you up =)

  • Totally Brilliant!

  • i luv the oboe dude's double chin

  • @funnydude5151

    That guy is hilarious!

  • Just wonderful!!

  • Beautiful!!

  • espectacularrr!!

  • Does the obeoist make anyone else's life!!!!

  • @commanderchipmunk damn you you beat me :( *angry troll face* congrats... Hmmmphh...

  • Simon from yogscast brought me here. :D

  • I have my own band and i would love to make my own version of this song

  • @JaredsOpinions

    Lewis!

    (it's the new Marco polo!!)

  • Four people don't know what music mean!

  • 1 M0:00RE TIME!!!

  • Simon from the yogscast.

  • @jobby210 Hellz to the YEA :D

  • I'm a oboe and alto sax player and I was impressed when I saw this.:0

  • Bueatiful. Splendid. Amazing. Terrific. Excellent. Magnificent. Fabulous. Outstanding. Awsome.

  • Brought here by Simon in yogscast ;D

  • It would be awsome to wake up in the moring and here this song omfg :D

  • In the beginning, there lived two musicians: the flute player with a half-shaved head and the oboe player with a nice mustache. The two battled for about 57 seconds, each shooting eight measures of a similar tune at each other. Then, about 50 other musicians stepped in, completely obliterating them. Thus, the Jerusalem Orchestra was born.

  • Lol Simon from Yogscast brought me here XD

  • Me to :D

  • not bad, not bad at all.

  • Omg i like just love this song soo muchh!!!!!

  • I use this as my alarm clock sound like on family guy with new brian. It's better than the death metal I've been using.

  • although unsofisticated compared to most other clasical music its definetly on of the most beutiful melodies.

  • makes me proud to be call myself Norwegian

  • 2 years ago, i played Peer Gynt suite in a symphonic orchestra, it was the first time i heard morning mood, I was fourteen years old and i was crying.. it was beautifull.

  • very good dynamics

  • This is my new alarm. My old one was heavy metal but ut woke me up. Now my day starts with a smile.

  • The only thing that goes through my mind when I hear this music is - Soylant Green

  • should be morning wood.

  • This Is One Of My Pieces For GCSE Music. Its Class <3

  • 0:42 Okay what the hell! That doesn't even look like a face!

  • Maravilhoso !!!!

  • Cool to listen this when you're wakin' up !!!

  • that oboe player has some serious chin action going on

  • in the mourning i listen to this and get moarning wood lol

  • Comment removed

  • what is the instrument that made the first opening music of this 'morning mood'?

  • oshhhhhhhhhhhh.... beautiful

  • I was lucky enough to be able to listen to this song on my Discman by the lake in Norway where Grieg composed much of his music.

  • this song brings back memories my granddad used to play this for me on the piano he had

  • Hasn't this song been in 1,000 movies and shows and is usually followed by something that completely interrupts the mood?

  • @Mariopartyrules haha LOVE THE COMMENT!!

  • @Mariopartyrules your right! i came here because i heard it on family guy.

  • want to hear the piano duet version of it? Look up Morning mood by Grieg on the second page. Taylor Zhang and Nathan Barnes

  • I love Grieg's use of the flute and oboe. And I love how Grieg used the melody to flow perfectly into romantic retrogressions. Grieg is the shit.

  • (sob) so beautiful it makes me think of heaven

  • is the black a hobo or klarinet?

  • hobo...lol

  • @tipsy700

You mean the one in the beginning? That's definitely an oboe.

  • @tipsy700 In this case, it's an oboe... for a moment there i thought you were making a bad racial reference - black people as hobos!! Anyway, the instrument here is indeed an oboe: perhaps the most notoriously difficult woodwind instrument to play: it is SO easy to make positively horrible sounds on it, lol! There is an old joke which asks "What's the difference between a flute and an oboe?" and responds with "Nobody cries when you burn an oboe." Played quite beautifully here, however!!

  • I will challenge you and say that the Bassoon is much harder to play than the oboe.

  • I love this song, but the recording on my CD has more of a dynamic jump at 57 sec, and sounds more heavenly.

  • cool song

  • Song..?

    I didn't know this was a song!

I thought it was a melody.

  • @yaniska100 when is orchestral music is almost always called a "piece".

but melody or tune are also used.

  • so beautiful...............

  • how is this emo?

  • I know right?

  • Go lick a monkey.

  • @TheTacticalGiraffe how is this emo? this is relaxing.

emo songs are screamo or metal. but this is not emo.

  • I love this, it made be go asleep one night

  • Awesome! Thank you indeed!

  • I have heard Peer Gynt performed by several orchestras and this orchestra and conductor, in my humble opinion, does a great job. They "hit the nail on the head," they got it right!"
