Wow what a great preformance. We will always miss you freddie. Check out my version of "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" I have the best version ever! RIP freddie and Queen!
As they got older they looked so much more relaxed and having a lot of fun performing. When they were younger they were much more serious and were more concerned about an image, either way they were fabulous.
I really love someone soo special in my heart <3 Really enjoying listening to these songs ;) xoxooooxxx ;) Thinking of him lots and hoping he is happy and ok xxx
Also you said "part of singing talent is meaured in your vocal range." maybe in opera and classical music not necessarily in popular music! Billie Holiday did have an ordinary vocal range. so she was only a "part talented" singer?! for popular singers good vocal range is only a bonus IMO. and we know for a fact that Freddie did have a vocal range of 3-4 octaves so... your arguments are all rather pointless.
Freddie Mercury.Brian May..Roget Taylor.John Deacon..you lived up to your name..Queen. Freddie chose this name in part cause it was regal..powerful..something absolute..this is Queen.4 men each a musical genius..masters of their craft. I consider myself fortunate.to have seen them live 3 times..they were amazing.from the first cord..to the first note of Freddie's...clear. perfect voice..you were taken on a musical journey.Their music will live on..Freddie.was a gem may he RIP
@Matthew9444 ...no need to be nasty love.. that language just shows a lack of class I love this band have for a very long time..If ya dont like the music..dont listen...he never messed up.. everytime I saw this band live..they were pure genius..
@Matthew9444 ..true he could not...the only thing I can say is it had to have been hard to hit em everytime..I guess It just didnt really bother me...I figure he always gave his best so it was ok...
@Matthew9444 So a musicians talent is measured by how well can he hit high notes? XD If you don't have anything intelligent to say just do yourself a favor and stfu. Besides at the Wembley concert how many times he "screwed up"? I know, just once. ;D
@Matthew9444 You said it yourself, PART, not all. And thats not a "screw up", he didn't ruin the song, probably 70% of the people there didn't even noticed that. Of course we do because is recorded, but live 99% of the artists have their moments where they might not be able to hit X note at X moment. Now, if you tell me, it happened every single time he sang that song then I'll admit it, he wasn't that talented. But just once and was barely noticeable unless recorded? "Child please!"
@Matthew9444 In that case, you're right, he wasn't perfect. But theres no doubt in my mind after watching a lot of other frontmans that he, is the best of them all.
@pachendrix Freddie was one if not the most consistent rock singer ever at being able to deliver very powerful vocal performances for very long tours, only singers like Steve Perry comes close really. Freddie proved he could sing in just about any style (listen to the impromptu section for example). Regarding vocal range, that is a silly argument as anyone can force a note out, but to be able to have the control and tone is what fundamentally makes a great singer. Here's the evidence :)
@Matthew9444 This was the twentieth-odd song he performed that night after so much jumping up and down the stage, singing, shouting, sweating, etc. how on earth can you expect perfect delivery for every song? he was a human being not a robot. more than once during that night he 'screwed up' (if that's what you wanna name it). but in studio recordings he always did his job perfectly.
Freddie just being himself, so confident, so energetic, you just have to love him. Unknown at the time that this might have been their last good night to a live audience. It's no less tragic for anyone to be faced with death, but it's so hard to believe someone with such a zest for life, so healthy looking and vibrant be cut down in the prime of his life. So sad.
@Ninimini999 8 times in 3 countries. England, Canada, and the USA. The USA seemed to be the smallest shows, and I never figured out why. Where I grew up, we were all Queen fans, and had a large following with us. I hear some people say they weren't that big in the USA, but not where I was from. I actually went to England just to see them at Wembley. My girlfriend had gotten tickets, and we went. Afterward at a pub I won the contest for coming the farthest distance to see Queen.
Freddy was Epic! I was fortunate in my life time seeing Queen every time they played Chicago.... I saw Queen at the Aragon Ballroom in 1975 for the first time from then on I was hooked! I'm still a huge fan! I still love Freddy Mercury even though it's been 20 years since his tragic passing, I always think if he could have held on just 2 more years we would still have Freddy Mercury.
@Evertale1 Freddie gave the answer to that question himseflf in a interveiw once and I quote
"I've made no effort to become a guitar hero because I can't play the fucking guitar!" he aslo said before this song " About 10 years ago I knew three chords on the guitar. Now I still only know three chords on the guitar"
at about 4 minutes freddy looks over at brian and he kinda has this expression like holy fuck what is the point of even trying to compete with this guy on guitar
Freddie is the most perfect example of a multi-talent: singing, playing the piano, playing the guitar, performing and being god-like. R.I.P. Freddie, you were an angel on Earth :')
