That's happened to me. I've given the same exact routine, one audience was cracking up hysterically, the other watched in stunned silence like I was nuts. You are funny, I have seen a couple of your other videos. In this one you were walking on the laughs some, and rushing a bit, so it was a little hard to follow at times. I think practicing your timing, and making the most of the pauses, to bring out the audience responses would make a big difference.
I did NOT think that was a bad set at all. Actually, if you follow a group of bad comedians, it's harder to get laughs. It's almost like the audience has accepted the fact that they won't laugh based on previous performances. Anyways, good-luck with future shows. Come to Austin sometime.
Dude, I'm a 24-year-old guy who recently graduated from Rice, and I thought you were funny. It was a good routine, bro. Your audience was just being unnecessarily hard on you. Lemme know the next time you'll be in town telling jokes again. I'd show up to support you!
Well the only thing you can do is try again, its common not to get laughs doing stand up, but all people having different tastes in humour. Good luck for your future performances
i was there man. i went on second to last (the guy with the hat) and i saw your acts. and you werent that bad man. dont be so hard on yourself. dont let it discourage you, i was actually releived you didnt talk about facebook or homeless people (seemed to be the motif of the night)
...basically, everyone else in the room who took a turn at the mic was a self-hating drug and porn obsessed loser trying to channel either bill hicks or sam kinnison. guys like that aren't even a dime a dozen--they literally come in gross lots. don't give that show a lot of thought... but definitely invite me to the next one...
man that bites. tough crowd. but it's good that you don't let it discourage you.
I failed a course in college that required me to give speeches. The first speech we gave was recorded on video so we could critique ourselves. After seeing myself speak, I was too much of a pussy to do any of the other speeches and ended up failing the course.
You might just need to find your style. Style can enhance your act a lot. Think of Mitch Hedberg, Demetri Martin, Robin Williams, etc...
again..even at the beginning you were searching for words a lot, nerves will do that I guess though. You'll get better as you push yourself though. 5 stars
When all the acts befor me where talking about huckers, gays and porn, and bearly got any laughs I knew that this audiance was going to bite my a**. Clean comedy at an all collage guy audiance, dosn't go over to well.

Yeah, most of the jokes had been done before 5 comedians had gone up, but that was a tough crowd.
The Indian guy was the best.
If that was my first time on stage I probably would have been bummed out, but I'm not.

The very next one. It's always a good idea to bring people along, for both support and protection, just encase things go south.

...absolutely--just because I haven't had to throw anyone out of a club in a few years doesn't mean I've forgotten how...
