it's interesting to see how Bill was just interested in talking about his relationship with God whereas Shabir was only talking about proofs and stuff. The evidence suggest that the Jesus of history never went around teaching that he was God but that he was a servant of God and would be horrified at people worshipping him in the way that they do today. Why not go to where the evidence leads us.
@Nazam44 In Matthew 14:33, Jesus was not horrified when his disciples worshipped him. If you read the Bible, he did go around saying that he is God. The reason why the Pharasees (religious leaders) of his days were so incensed by what he said is because they knew exactly what his claims were, ie he is God.
@729264boy The verse you cited is an example of evolution taking place in the gospels. In Mark the disciples do not worship Jesus as the do in Matthew but they disbelieve due to their hard hearts (Mk 6:52). In Mt the disciples do not respond with disbelieve but with believe in Jesus' sonship (14:33). Matthew has improved the story to show that Jesus is the Son of God.

Furthermore, if the koran was the "correct" Gospels, what do they show "correctly" about relgion and God, as better than the Bible?. PART 5..about islam and the koran. The koran was compiled as long, or longer after mohammed's death than the Gospels. Once a set of books were written fro both the Bible and koran, that was what was the complete voulmes of books as a whole. This doesn't prove authenticity, but proves that at some point, these words were written down. So, as we can see; scientific method isn't the issue, or helpful in the matter. islam was in fact the same oral tradition that Shabir criticizes.
PART 4..as we have seen, the Jesus of the koran has divine attributes, and human as well. So, the koran answers the question quite clearly about Jesus being both human and divine. What Shabir tried to do, is claim contradiction, when his own book claims the same thing. Also. he says Jesus never claimed to be God. 1st of all, I would think being "miraculous" spoke for itself, and staing the obvious would be neither here nore there.
PART 3..a muslim's musunderstanding is no more than just that. The trinity is a representation of God the infinite, God as flesh and word, and God as Holy spirit as spirit of goodness..which all good people have. Would Shabir Ally doubt the multpilcity of God's expression?. Creatures, colors, art, substance, design..all of God, and mutiple. As of Jesus' divinity..the question Shabir raises is how could Jesus be God and man?. 1st, Jesus in the koran is miraculous, born of a virgin, and Messiah.
PART 2..it is also important to mention, that Shabir said nothing about the fact that the Greco-Roman world that converted to Christianity, did it's best to do away with it; and the first Christian Bible was compiled with the same "different accounts" as a whole, from a people who were going against the staus quo of both Judaism and Greco-Roman paganism. If the Gospels suffered from a false sentiment, then the word could be used against it..yet quite the opposite is true.
In response to this debate..1st, the old and new testament's purpose is to serve the sentiment of belief. Now, Shabir Ally's claims that the new testament(for example) has different accounts from the Gospels. What he doesn't say, is that they are no more than JUST THAT, similiar accounts of the life and teachings of Jesus..with some things being mentioned in one Gospel, and in others not. The message and teaching is the same.
The Christian simply related what appealed to him in Christianity. The Muslim didn't! In order to explain why he was a Muslim he had to exclude all other religions first. And that's what most Muslims do most of the time. Why can't Islam simply stand on its own? Why do Muslims always have to say negative things about other religions and apply pseudo-scientific and pseudo-intellectual arguments in order to justify their religion?

The Bible says that we are saved by faith to do good works, yes faith without works is dead. But your works don't save you. You are saved to do good works.
You cannot work for salvation. We are saved by faith that no flesh may glory in God's presence. If it's by works then where does grace come in? Grace is a gift it can't be earned. Jesus said that when he comes back, he will reward every many according to his works.

About John 17:5 Jesus reveals that He shared glory with the Father before the world began. But in Isaiah 42:8, Jehovah says that He will not share His glory with another.

"Another" what? God will not share his glory with another god, because they are all false. Furthermore, there is a difference between Glory that belongs to God & other glory. Being glorified does not mean that God is sharing HIS glory. It just means that he is assigning to u your own glory in whatever measure He sees fit. In fact, John 17:5 shows that Jesus recognizes God's ability to assign glory, b/e as a human,.. If Jesus was "God in the flesh" then why was he glorified any less as a human?

Read... No,there is nothing here about Jesus having the same or equal glory to the Father before coming to the earth. Rather,he does mention a glory he enjoyed when he was with his father before the world existed. He asks of the only true God that this glory be returned to him, which shows that;
(1) he did not have that glory while as a man;

John in Revelation 22:18 basically promised that no one would be able to add anything to this book by threatening anyone who did do so. However, we do see that a verse was indeed falsely added to this book. So that means that the promise was broken to stop these additions. I dont believe it is about religion. I believe in the Holy Bible, Gods Word. I believe that Jesus was God manifested in the flesh and yes i believe that He died for all of our sins. In Mark the disciples do not worship Jesus as the do in Matthew but they disbelieve due to their hard hearts (Mk 6:52). In Mt the disciples do not respond with disbelieve but with believe in Jesus' sonship (14:33). Matthew has improved the story to show that Jesus is the Son of God.

Islam teaches this, because it has to claim this, simply to try to replace the new testament with "the last testament". If that's the case then God all mighty had a son already, so why then didn't God send Adam's spirit (P) instead of Jesus (p). There r other proofs of direct creations from God. PART 6..the oldest koran found, has proven that words were in fact changed around. This isn't the point. God isn't defined or restrcited by a set of words. Furthermore, if the koran was the "correct" Gospels, what do they show "correctly" about relgion and God, as better than the Bible?. PART 5..about islam and the koran. The koran was compiled as long, or longer after mohammed's death than the Gospels. Once a set of books were written fro both the Bible and koran, that was what was the complete voulmes of books as a whole. This doesn't prove authenticity, but proves that at some point, these words were written down. So, as we can see; scientific method isn't the issue, or helpful in the matter. islam was in fact the same oral tradition that Shabir criticizes.

PART 4..as we have seen, the Jesus of the koran has divine attributes, and human as well. So, the koran answers the question quite clearly about Jesus being both human and divine. What Shabir tried to do, is claim contradiction, when his own book claims the same thing. Also. he says Jesus never claimed to be God. 1st of all, I would think being "miraculous" spoke for itself, and staing the obvious would be neither here nore there.

PART 2..it is also important to mention, that Shabir said nothing about the fact that the Greco-Roman world that converted to Christianity, did it's best to do away with it; and the first Christian Bible was compiled with the same "different accounts" as a whole, from a people who were going against the staus quo of both Judaism and Greco-Roman paganism. In response to this debate..1st, the old and new testament's purpose is to serve the sentiment of belief. Now, Shabir Ally's claims that the new testament(for example) has different accounts from the Gospels. What he doesn't say, is that they are no more than JUST THAT, similiar accounts of the life and teachings of Jesus..with some things being mentioned in one Gospel, and in others not. The message and teaching is the same.

The Bible says that we are saved by faith to do good works, yes faith without works is dead. But your works don't save you. You are saved to do good works.
You cannot work for salvation. We are saved by faith that no flesh may glory in God's presence. If it's by works then where does grace come in? Grace is a gift it can't be earned. Jesus said that when he comes back, he will reward every many according to his works.

About John 17:5 Jesus reveals that He shared glory with the Father before the world began. But in Isaiah 42:8, Jehovah says that He will not share His glory with another.

"Another" what? God will not share his glory with another god, because they are all false. Furthermore, there is a difference between Glory that belongs to God & other glory. Being glorified does not mean that God is sharing HIS glory. It just means that he is assigning to u your own glory in whatever measure He sees fit. In fact, John 17:5 shows that Jesus recognizes God's ability to assign glory, b/e as a human,.. If Jesus was "God in the flesh" then why was he glorified any less as a human?

Read... No,there is nothing here about Jesus having the same or equal glory to the Father before coming to the earth. Rather,he does mention a glory he enjoyed when he was with his father before the world existed. He asks of the only true God that this glory be returned to him, which shows that;
(1) he did not have that glory while as a man;
(2) the only true God is the source of the glory. It should be apparent that Jesus did not possess this glory at the time that he spoke this prayer.

John in Revelation 22:18 basically promised that no one would be able to add anything to this book by threatening anyone who did do so. However, we do see that a verse was indeed falsely added to this book. So that means that the promise was broken to stop these additions. Now reading this verse does not give me any 100% assurance that this book is truly indeed 100% the word of God.

Even non-Muslim historians will tell you that "Allah" was NOT "one of the gods" of the pre-Islamic Arabs. But was recognised by them as the supreme, abstract God. There was no idol which they called "Allah". The Quran quotes the idol-worshippers as presenting the argument that:
"We worship them (i.e. the idols) only so that they may bring us nearer to Allah." (39:3)
Obviously then, "Allah" was not one of the idols but the proper name for God in the Arabic language.

I dont believe it is about religion. I believe in the Holy Bible, Gods Word. I believe that Jesus was God manifested in the flesh and yes i believe that He died for all of our sins. How else are we to get to share eternity with God? He is Holy. Our "works" and so called righteousness are as filthy rags. God chose to come to earth because He loves us and knew where we were headed without a Savior.

This would mean that the Word didn't earn the title "Christ" until His death (which would mean He lived until His death a sinless life). So according to Scriptures of the early manuscripts John 1:1:5 details Elohim/The God is Two Holy Beings, not one or three but Two.
