mmm, i always see this bass, i have never played one, but i know i dont like the way it looks too much. I have 3 basses, one which was a good, but somewhat cheap bass my dad got 18 years ago- an Ibanez EX series black.

i have an electric/acoustic Dean black bass, and as far as costly goes

i use a Fender Persision Bass, cream color that cost about $1,500 as well- same exact bass that Flea uses.

next time i go down to guitar center im gonna have to try this musicman out.

flea doesnt use a p-bass he uses:

modulus fb-4

fender JAZZ bass not p-bass

he will sometimes use the musicman and in the eighties he used spector basses

Thats not a stingray. Stingrays don't have the selector switch. Thats a sterrling 5 string

When i 1st set eyes on a MusicMan, i was not all that impressed. But when i plugged her in and played with all the sounds you can get out of her. I knew why it is such a wanted bass. And one with the maple neck,is what i would use.
