U2 are mine and my father's favourite band in the world, he started listening to them 30 odd years ago when they first brought out Sunday Bloody Sunday, it was the first song he played in his brand new car as a late teenage, i am so grateful he introduced me to such a talented group of musicians, Slane Castle was the peak of the bands ability, and these plus "One" are my favourite three songs of this concert. Never liked "All I Want is You" until I saw it done like this and then the transition into "Streets" is amazing. I caught this concert 10 days before Slane in London and it was fantastic. But Slane would of been mind blowing.

He (Bono) goes out there every show and bares his heart and rawest emotions to the thousands who come to see them. I think it's what puts their shows on an entirely different level than all others. This video is a prime example, especially between 4:45 and 5:40. Absolutely heartbreaking to see him singing in that deep, hollow voice, and calling out his name toward heaven, "It's Paul, it's Paul" (Bono's real name) b/c his dad passed on days before this show.

Bono wanted 3 people through this performance. First was his wife, then it was the dude who threw the bottle at him.......then it was his father.

Bono buried his father days before this concert. Looking to heaven he burst out into opera because his father loved the opera and sang for a hobby. Bono is pouring out his sadness, frustration, and spirit for the loss of his father. Then calling out, "It's Paul, It's Paul." (Bono's real name) So crazily emotional it's literally unbelievable.

It was this that clinched U2 as my favorite band of all time. I was given concert DVDs to watch. This 10minutes happened...unbelievable stuff. Just shivers all around. Unbelievable, best gig I've ever been to. I've seen them a few times and nothing matched this night, everything came together to make it really special, from the emotion of Bono's father's passing, the crowd up for it after Ireland qualifying for the world cup that evening, the amazing venue and the beautiful night. Super version, the year 2001 was probably the most emotional experience live! This song is the only real love song by U2 (say, who does not speak of failure, separation ...), it is beautiful, the Edge's solo is beautiful and Slane Castle, as I would have loved to be there! special mention of Bono without sunglasses!
