Syfy will self distruct unless they go to the edge at the end of the mile.. I loved BSG even with the poor story line of the last 2 seasons. I don't know what's wrong with Syfy . I wish they would commit to something big and stick with pushing the envelope of Sci Fi. I would love to be in Blood and Chrome.

All I want for this series is to see the final 5 at the end giving resurrection to the cylons. and the humanoids being created. and finding out who Daniel was (I really hope they cloned the actual daniel graystone or used his name as a tribute). If he successfuly made a humanoid before the final 5 he must have helped them in the process. Then when Cavil was created he got jealous and got rid of his line

Would be a fun challenge to write for Blood and Chrome. Watched an interview with Emma Caulfield in which she mentioned BSG was one of her favorite shows. They need to get her into a viper cockpit. Maybe bring Noah Hathaway on as well.

It's on the "SyFy" channel and we all know how they do it! We'll be lucky if we get a single season out of them. It would be a gift from the gods if there's a season 2. I've learned not to get my hopes up with that channel especially after they burned Caprica and destroyed the entire Stargate franchise. Expect a short run folks!

hopefully they will make a good serie out of blood and chrome, compareable to BSG. They need to bring back the ethical dilemas, the political matters, the constant desperation brought by the fact of not knowing if there is going to be a day after.

And also, more military life, not civilian!

Tbh, I don't think B&C will be good, its just very hard to watch a show you already now how it ends.

serious? Caprica moved WAY too slow, focused WAY too much on V-world, and lets face it, they phone it in. The head producer genius, Roger, if I am not mistaken which I'm pretty sure I am not, stated there would be no spaceships, no battles, nothing like that. It was to be focused on intense drama and the intensity behind the reality of the Cylons vs Human (eventually). The writing was on the wall after episode 4. After Episode 5, they REALLY needed to make a change and again they didn't.

@sincrafts Caprica was more of a human drama than a straight - out science fiction show. & even though I LIKED it, it DID move way too slow with pushing the events leading to the Cylons becoming sentient beings. Eric Stoltz even said that he could tell that Caprica was headed for cancellation.

Personally, I hope that BSG : Blood & Chrome has more of a balance between character / plot development & action / SFX than Caprica did.

Wasn't thrilled with Caprica. Give me some good ol' space dogfights anyday over that Dallas meets Dynasty in space bullcrap. Wouldn't mind seeing a classic BSG Apollo and Starbuck type dynamic between Bill Adama and Saul Tigh.

@Captmiloman But as far as being a prequel to BSG, Caprica was in every single way 100% the same type of show that BSG was, with the same drama, same storyline type, same everything. People have seemed to have forgotten just how much drama BSG actually had. Sure it also had battles, but Caprica was leading into this. Also Caprica had to contend with bringing this suspense etc. into a planetary environment from that of being in space. If you take out the drama, it is no longer BSG.

How did they gain their independent consciousnesses? How did they react when they received this new way of life? How did they interact with society? What actually caused them to revolt? How were they mistreated? Who was William Adama and his background. Why did they want to look like humans? How did these experiments start, etc? Only Caprica can answer these questions...not B & C.

“This has all been done before and looks like it will happen again”, it was called BSG The Re-Imaged Series…..lol. This one will be just the same, only without the sexy cylons and William Adama will be half the age. That series had both ground, and space battles.

So much for a prequel that will actually show some BSG history and background, B & C won’t be showing anything new in that area, other than what is already known.

(sigh). I was a huge fan of Battlestar, but I didn't watch it for the battle sequences, the cool robots, the dog fights. I watched it for the mysticism and the philosophy, at a push the weird, strangulated human drama. What they've done in the cancellation of Caprica and the instigation of 'Blood and Chrome' (bad title -to me, 'chrome' suggests thinly-embossed plastic), is reject fans of cerebral drama in favour of airhead action fans -at best, krappy Afghanistan allegory. I say again: (sigh).

@xjames118 I don't disagree with you, but Caprica was very poorly executed. I actually found myself strongly disliking the characters, everything was disjointed, and the story was confusing. There wasn't enough Adama in it. Galactica had story issues too, but not like Caprica.

We need some good gritty sci-fi action on TV. Stargate Universe has taken on BSG in this respect - a human drama rather than sci-fi action the its predecessors.

For example, stargate atlantis, the most popular in the stargate series has the most action and gained much popularity around the world, unlike its less action packed but more story driven brother, stargate universe. TV viewers often dont follow the larger story and need the explosions to keep them entertained (not to mention get them through the commercial breaks!).

@xjames118 I can see by watching this--although fake--where your trepidation could lie. However, if you remember when BSG was first on, between shots of Six, the dogfights and Adama saying "We are at war", they were part of the ad campaign to establish the premise. Later on, what people stuck around for was the mythology and the writing. So looking at it from the perspective of a War Drama (along the lines of Band of Brothers; I hope), mind you this is all speculative, it might actually work.

@DailyDistortions I've just started rewatching Band of Brothers and it's excellent stuff --I'm also going to get hold of 'The Thin Red Line' after hearing it being hyped by EVERYONE. Possibly the problem lies in the fact that I'm 32 and I'm growing to hate sci-fi. It's natural. Stargate? Because of Robert Carlyle I'll give it the benefit of the doubt. But I do think no show should be made just because it's part of a franchise or a popular genre. We shouldn't need genres anymore. Rant finished.
