SWTOR isn't going to be wow in space - there's no space in swtor. It's going to be 'final fantasy in star wars'. Mage, Priest, Fighter and Rogue. The 'mage' even has mage robes that look like wow costumes. It's godawful.

@NorthHitman622 let's not forget WoW borrowed heavily from Everquest with the group formula, ie. Tank, dps, healer etc. It used to not be that way, Ultima Online had full mages soloing just about anything and dominating any melee class, much the way Jedis were in SWG. If you look back at the damage/resistance SWG had, it's very similair to what Uo had added to their game back then. I don't think it's a coincidence some of those folks at SWG came from OSI :D . SWG was fun in it's time.

Star Wars Galaxies is terrible, Jedi or Force User's run around like roachs man. Go to SWGEmudotcom, that's oldschool SWG that everyone loved. (Note it's still a work in progress)
Yeah, it is no longer a hard to reach job that you have to spent months grinding and questing towards. You can choose from the start to be a jedi or even a bounty hunter...
Also, they completely removed the fist fighting class...
IMO the best game ever made pre CU just gone back to it for the 2 week free trial (just go to the website everyone gets 2 free weeks) and to be honest now all te bugs are ironed out its not to bad but still NO whaere near as good. It took me a year to grind Jedi, after the CU he went to E-bay mwhaha

deflect 80 % of all ranged attacks kicked ass :) the jedi was a tough grind, and i remember being hunted a few times by bh and losing allot of xp, but that was ok since i knew once i started my knight trials id be on my way to becoming truly imba
me and a friend we played 24/7 it was mad.. no life whatsoever but work then ggot homew and played but i loved it......
CU was prolly the worst thing ever. I had swg for a couple months before it happened but i never played much, i only got to level 33 when it came. it went from 34 professions to 9 'iconic' professions, which completely ruined it, along with the combat and xp gain. I got to level 80 now and it took me 2 years when pre-cu it could've taken me 1 week. :p

CU is the acronym for Combat upgrade, a major patch (around 2004-2005,) which killed the game. The whole community was turned-off, leaving the game entirely. It was a legendary MMO on an epic scale. I have to admit I've never looked at MMO's the same ever since. Fuck you SOE. RIP SWG pre-CU
I admit I hated CU cuz mostly of the levels on mobs and yourself but it was still playable and sort of fun, pre-cu was best but ok we are stuck cu was OK.. not great not good but ok but then less then a year later without even telling ppl btw and WITHOUT testing it fully (why the hell wouldnt you test a FULLY new and completely changing game system??) but whatever stupid ass CEO decided to do that, released nge untested and very buggy and glitched which really did kill the game.
CU & pre-CU are the old versions of SWG it was a totally different game back then and was much better... i'm not saying the new version is bad but this was better. i love the new version but it gets annoying at some parts and CU was'nt like that... oh well.

okay, they put it in to IMPROVE the game, hence the NEW GAME ENHANCEMENTS, but IMO, losing over a million subscribers is a red flag that you just did a NGCF, New game cluster fuck!
There are a few things that SOE did do right with the NGE: 1) The combat system once you get used to it, Isnt half bad, I mean half the time, from experience, You could cue up a few moves and WALK AWAY, Now you actually have to be ATK, To fight.
The prof removal, Was dumb as hell, 32 to 9, Red flag, Stop stop stop. Animations, God, That was dumb too, Poke stab, Poke stab. In the end, Its a loss on their part, but the NGE, With mods, Is not THAT bad. Its playable, and kinda fun.

Hey I have 2 questions, I play the NGE and never got to play the Pre-CU, so anyways my questions are, At the beginning of the video,
i saw the jedi meditating, and getting a buff, but isnt that thing from CH 7 in NGE??? Im confuse
my other question is, Why are the graphics there look badass, is it the computer??? or the game thing?, cause in my computer it looks good, but in this video it look very badass, like the shadows, and everything.
1) Force Meditate was originally in the game Pre-CU but was removed from the game when the NGE hit(along with other things that shouldnt of been removed)
2) If my graphics you mean the animations? Then the answer is that most, if not all combat animations were also removed with the NGE due to the change in combat speed, now they refuse to lower the combat speed because theyre too lazy to change all the damage values.
SICK i love it... i played the game ever since it came out... i miss those days, i played the "new game" it was pretty fun but got addicted to EQ2, but i heard they are bringing some cool features back to the game so im downloading it now!!
Kind of strikes you as funny that the game went from great to shitty, not the other way around like some of the pro-NGE'ers claim.
I was a master healer before the CU, converted to master powers and ground with a group similar to this guy's, then I picked up 4400 defender and it was SICK while I was able to tank and do AOE intim/lightning.
I've been off swg for years now... quit cause of the CU.. before that I was kettemoor's best BH.. I really miss watching jedi run lol... it honestly is one of the best feelings in the world... when they run and just do their very best... but you kill them.. without a buff or armour... thats how us roadian BH's do it...

Yeah, it is no longer a hard to reach job that you have to spent months grinding and questing towards. You can choose from the start to be a jedi or even a bounty hunter...
Also, they completely removed the fist fighting class...

IMO the best game ever made pre CU just gone back to it for the 2 week free trial (just go to the website everyone gets 2 free weeks) and to be honest now all te bugs are ironed out its not to bad but still NO whaere near as good. It took me a year to grind Jedi, after the CU he went to E-bay mwhaha

yes people play it still i still play it its still fun back in the day jedi was sooooo hard to get i unlocked it 2 times and then they made jedi a choosable class thats what screwed it up along with a bunch of other classes getting deleted its pretty noob friendly i recommend bria tho they have the most populated server

i became a jedi pre cu , and being able to
deflect 80 % of all ranged attacks kicked ass :) the jedi was a tough grind, and i remember being hunted a few times by bh and losing allot of xp, but that was ok since i knew once i started my knight trials id be on my way to becoming truly imba

CU was prolly the worst thing ever. I had swg for a couple months before it happened but i never played much, i only got to level 33 when it came. it went from 34 professions to 9 'iconic' professions, which completely ruined it, along with the combat and xp gain. I got to level 80 now and it took me 2 years when pre-cu it could've taken me 1 week. :p

CU is the acronym for Combat upgrade, a major patch (around 2004-2005,) which killed the game. The whole community was turned-off, leaving the game entirely. It was a legendary MMO on an epic scale. I have to admit I've never looked at MMO's the same ever since. Fuck you SOE. RIP SWG pre-CU

I admit I hated CU cuz mostly of the levels on mobs and yourself but it was still playable and sort of fun, pre-cu was best but ok we are stuck cu was OK.. not great not good but ok but then less then a year later without even telling ppl btw and WITHOUT testing it fully (why the hell wouldnt you test a FULLY new and completely changing game system??) but whatever stupid ass CEO decided to do that, released nge untested and very buggy and glitched which really did kill the game.

CU & pre-CU are the old versions of SWG it was a totally different game back then and was much better... i'm not saying the new version is bad but this was better. i love the new version but it gets annoying at some parts and CU was'nt like that... oh well.

People talk about not having many subscribers... And SOE knows it, So really, Truly, Why doesnt SOE just change it back? I mean I am truly not a technical person when it comes to computers, but it doesnt seem that hard. Or were they dumb and deleted/erased all the odd models etc.

There are a few things that SOE did do right with the NGE: 1) The combat system once you get used to it, Isnt half bad, I mean half the time, from experience, You could cue up a few moves and WALK AWAY, Now you actually have to be ATK, To fight.
The prof removal, Was dumb as hell, 32 to 9, Red flag, Stop stop stop. Animations, God, That was dumb too, Poke stab, Poke stab. In the end, Its a loss on their part, but the NGE, With mods, Is not THAT bad. Its playable, and kinda fun.

Hey I have 2 questions, I play the NGE and never got to play the Pre-CU, so anyways my questions are, At the beginning of the video,
i saw the jedi meditating, and getting a buff, but isnt that thing from CH 7 in NGE??? Im confuse
my other question is, Why are the graphics there look badass, is it the computer??? or the game thing?, cause in my computer it looks good, but in this video it look very badass, like the shadows, and everything.

1) Force Meditate was originally in the game Pre-CU but was removed from the game when the NGE hit(along with other things that shouldnt of been removed)
2) If my graphics you mean the animations? Then the answer is that most, if not all combat animations were also removed with the NGE due to the change in combat speed, now they refuse to lower the combat speed because theyre too lazy to change all the damage values.

The games gone through 3 stages in it's lifetime.
1. Originality (The best IMO)
2. CU (They gave the game a total combat revamp, standing for Combat Upgrade.
3. NGE, New Game Enhancements. The stage that caused more than half of their subscribers to quit. It took all fun out of the game.

Kind of strikes you as funny that the game went from great to shitty, not the other way around like some of the pro-NGE'ers claim.
I was a master healer before the CU, converted to master powers and ground with a group similar to this guy's, then I picked up 4400 defender and it was SICK while I was able to tank and do AOE intim/lightning.

I've been off swg for years now... quit cause of the CU.. before that I was kettemoor's best BH.. I really miss watching jedi run lol... it honestly is one of the best feelings in the world... when they run and just do their very best... but you kill them.. without a buff or armour... thats how us roadian BH's do it...
