There is some very good Afghan Karate fighters, its just much harder for them to get publicity since there is not as much "calling" for that sport, or agents in there country. At least from what I have seen. I can say for certain we would see quite a few more amazing fighters if the UFC was not geared towards popular "idols" that make them tons of money, and was geared towards finding really good fighters instead.
Not always just for money, but they are more of a "business" style fight group, that is geared towards gaining viewers. Yes they try to pick good fighters also, but you will find the majority of these good fighters only joined the UFC because there is no other way for them to fight the "top fighters", and get the money they deserve. Most of the very respectable fighters came from a very poor background, and use the money they make to feed their family's back home.
Back when K-1, and Pride was still running the amount of very skilled fighters were quite a considerable bit higher , and most of the "greats" from these groups have joined the UFC after there was no longer an income or a crowd to view them any were else. Some times when you want to do what you love for a living, you need to make sacrifices, and joining the UFC under a contract is one of these sacrifices. It still brings good fighters, but the same respect is not there.
Back when Pride, and K-1 fights were still running the level of skill and respect in the fighters was much higher in my opinion, and while the UFC does still bring lots of good fighters most of them are there because there is virtually no were else for them to do what they love for a living. The sacrifice of being under contract to UFC is one that many fighters have taken to keep doing what they love, but it comes at a cost both to the sport, and to them as fighters.

Elbows are pretty lethal. The tip of the elbow can damage a fighter very easily i.e. cut them, then the fight would probably end there (Anderson Silva almost ripped a guy's nose off with an up-strike using the tip of the elbow). Other parts of the elbow should be allowed. Don't understand that part. It is fair to strikers because most use their knees and fists. Not their elbows unless they are real Muay Thai fighters.
One example of what I mean by going beyond the limits. Look at Bob Sap. A huge black monster, bully and boisterous. Brought himself to the ground crying when Mirko Crop punched him in the eyebrown. He was huge, American and crying like a little girl. I don't really see Semites (as being Jews, Arabians etc.) as a totally different race as the line between our peoples is so blurred. What do you consider Turkish people? There is some very good Afghan Karate fighters, its just much harder for them to get publicity since there is not as much "calling" for that sport, or agents in there country. At least from what I have seen. I can say for certain we would see quite a few more amazing fighters if the UFC was not geared towards popular "idols" that make them tons of money, and was geared towards finding really good fighters instead.

Not always just for money, but they are more of a "business" style fight group, that is geared towards gaining viewers. Yes they try to pick good fighters also, but you will find the majority of these good fighters only joined the UFC because there is no other way for them to fight the "top fighters", and get the money they deserve. Most of the very respectable fighters came from a very poor background, and use the money they make to feed their family's back home.

Back when K-1, and Pride was still running the amount of very skilled fighters were quite a considerable bit higher , and most of the "greats" from these groups have joined the UFC after there was no longer an income or a crowd to view them any were else. Some times when you want to do what you love for a living, you need to make sacrifices, and joining the UFC under a contract is one of these sacrifices. It still brings good fighters, but the same respect is not there.

Back when Pride, and K-1 fights were still running the level of skill and respect in the fighters was much higher in my opinion, and while the UFC does still bring lots of good fighters most of them are there because there is virtually no were else for them to do what they love for a living. The sacrifice of being under contract to UFC is one that many fighters have taken to keep doing what they love, but it comes at a cost both to the sport, and to them as fighters.

Elbows are pretty lethal. The tip of the elbow can damage a fighter very easily i.e. cut them, then the fight would probably end there (Anderson Silva almost ripped a guy's nose off with an up-strike using the tip of the elbow). Other parts of the elbow should be allowed. Don't understand that part. It is fair to strikers because most use their knees and fists. Not their elbows unless they are real Muay Thai fighters.

He was huge, American and crying like a little girl. Fedor Emelianenko got his nose broken by a huge punch, he continued the fight, still receiving punches that must have hurt tremendously, he went beyond the limits and won the fight (see against Rogers). That is what being Soviet means.

Fedor was offered the MOST money by the UFC but his manager, Finkelstein or however it is that you spell his name, wanted the event to be co-promoted by M-1 so he could share it the profits and get exposure for his company.

Yeah, it's too bad that MMA is swallowed up by greed and money now, but what sport isn't? I'd love to see Fedor come to the UFC and wreck Brock Lesnar, and I'm sure millions of other fans would love to see it too. So I say, why not co-promote? Having the #1 fighter in the world in the UFC means people are going to pay to see the PPV fights. Even if the profits are split between the UFC and M-1 I bet they'd both get more money then what they're making now.

Fedor is the co-owner of M1 Global... And a signed fighter for M1... Both he and his manager are employees and primary shareholders....

Nope co-promotion was not for one fight. it was for a minimum of 6 fights, and would have included any extension after that, which would most likely have happened.
U can say what u want about Dana, but the fact is UFC built this sport with their blood sweat and tears, no they where not the only ones doing it, just the best. No way in hell should Brock v Fedor be a M-1/UFC co event, M-1 hasn't earned it, its UFC or go home.
