  • I have a 92 maxima that had a similar problem. Check your idle air adjusting unit as a screw likes to fall out of it causing the idle to get all messed up and causes the car to stall frequently.

  • I think you made this video just to showcase what faggy music you listen to.

Get in there and clean out your throttle body, IAC and MAF.

  • I had a simular problem on my 01 SE Maxima . I had to repair the ECU, replace the IAC, TPS, and MAF. You can look on ebay their is a guy that can repair the ECU for $200 with a life time warrenty. I haven't had any problems since.

  • i have the same problem with my yaris 2008 model automatic

After the engine warms up, the car's computer lowers the rev's. When this happens, the car starts to "bounce" around 600rpm. It causes vibration and could become a big problem in the future. If anyone can help me diagnose my car, I will be very much obliged. Also, there is no check engine light on, so I can't diagnose that way.

  • You ever figure out what it was?

  • I had the same problem... at red lights it would vibrate and stall, but if I was accelerating it'd be find. It was the EGR valve. I was stuck shut and had to be replaced.

  • Clean your intake system, but more importantly Idler Air Control Valve.

  • Clean your I aCvalve duude

  • My Maxima has the same problem, but i really dont car about it because it doent seem that major

  • Looks like bad coil. Turn on blower for heater, does RPM go up? One of the 6 coils maybe going bad. The way to test is to measure the ohm across the + and center pin of the coil.

  • It's not a sensor or coil cuz that would trigger a check engine light. It's gonna b a vacuum leak check ur hoses and even ur intake manifold gasket. U can test by spraying brake cleaner around hoses and gasket. If idle picks up that's where u got ur air leak.

  • It is the one or more coilpack.I had 2 maximas with the same symptoms and they both run great after I changed a few coilpacks.I had mechanics say change the mass flow sensor, injectors, computer etc..

  • mass air flow sensor...i had the exact problem....a bad mass air flow sensor can cause a ton of things to go wrong

  • It seems like this is a very common problem on this gen of maxima and i30. I have the same problem and my mechanics cannot figure out what it is. I have heard that seafoaming through the brake booster hose helps a lot though.

  • rebasl thoter boty

  • dude just dance...its gonna be okay

  • @foxmoto17 igfrterterer zaxscvbwedfghsdf sfdfghqwsdefghjdfghjderftgyhj zsxedrftgherft

  • you need tight the acceleration wires from the engine and that will fixed that...very easy you can do it yourself..

  • The problem is a bad EGR valve I replaced mine two months ago, no more problems also you might want to check your knock sensor it maybe telling the computer that there is a problem it just might be faulty!!!

  • Check the coils ,mine do the same thing ,plug obd2 on your car computer ,and you will see a ghost code ,a multi cylinder misfire or a cylinder # misfire ,good luck

  • did anyone find the problem to this?

  • MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR! (maf) plus always use injector cleaner and HIGH GRADE fuel only!

  • I have the same problem, did you ever fix it? What was it?

  • Seems as if the problem is occuring after the computer changes the loop cycle. Mights want to give the maf a check.

  • I have a 1997 I30 (its mechanically identical to this car) thats havind the exact same problem. Please let me know if you have had any luck

  • I have a Maxima 92 and it has the same problem, the thing is that it doesn't happen all the time. I thoght it was the injectors, but since it doesn't happen all the time it can't be that.

Makes me thing is something wrong with the computer or just a loose wire.

I can unplug 3 specific spark plugs, and the car will be the same, (I can see and hear the sparks) so I'm not getting gasoline through those injectors. I'll keep looking :S

  • that happens in my 99 also its just a common thing nothing to worry about its just happens when u do a aftermarket intake

  • its your intake gasket its a common problem take it somewere and get a smoke test done to your intake

  • dude i got a similar prob. on my 1999 GLE maxima but mine stalls out in reverse and sometimes while im driving if i let off the gas sometimes. I had my friends dad check it out and he said he thinks its a vacum leak. I still havent got around to getting it checked out but you should look into that cause my car has the same idle prob. too

  • to check for vacuum leaks, u spray starting fluid over the engine. if the rpm's jump that means u have a vacuum leak. i did this, and i didnt find any leaks.

  • i just took it to the shop and they said it was my idle control. so they replaced it and now are still trying to program it

  • @GDubs88 same with my 98. i got an intake on mine tho. could be just the intake or the same shit as everyone's?

  • @oljerzbastard I had changed my 98 maxima's filter to a cold air intake n my car started running like sh!t i recently replaced the stock and works way bettter..

  • @marryJhitter1 saaame. myabe i should go back to stock. who the fuck knows...

  • that is a little low (idle wise) and pretty damn bouncy, mine idles around 900, which i know is high but stil - i think the optimal idle for vq30de w/ minimal boltons is around 550-650...

  • I figured that the wire was lose because I may have pulled on it during the cleaning. Anyways I cleared the ECU and drove it about 200 miles so far. No Check Engine light yet. :( I was so happy when it came up, because I thought I would be able to diagnose the problem. Figures, it was a fluke.

  • @thegreat1dev Do you remember which wire was loose? The maxima I drive is doing this and was wondering if it is the same root cause? Thanks

  • ok. so now a check engine light came up. it's for an oxygen sensor. bank 1 sensor 1....codes p0134 and p0171. I took off the oxygen sensor and inspected it. It looked fine. I had replaced it earlier with a new one, and so I double checked to make sure I didn't mix it up with my other nissans. Sure enough, all oxygen sensors had been replaced. I reinstalled the oxygen sensor, because replacement would have been unnecessary.

  • hmmmm :S

  • ok guys, i cleaned the IACV and while I was in the area I cleaned the EGR valve. Still no luck :( but I did notice a little more power. MAF cleaning is on the to do list. If anyone else figures out how to fix this problem, let me know. Thanks

  • i got the same problem did u fix it ? and how ? thanks

  • my car does the same thing, 1999 maxima w/ 106K on it, fucking shakes on idle and revs up a lil like urs

  • nope its the IACV (idle air control valve) i could almost swear by it

another thing you might need to do is clean the throttle body with some carb cleaner and a rag

  • Check the MAF (Mass airflow sensor), it may need cleaning.

  • thanks. i will do that.
