AC/DC being inducted into the R&R HOF is legitimate. They deserve it but for the most part there are dozens of bands who belong there but aren't even considered. I think the R&R HOF is a farce based on favoritism. What a joke. I will never watch or support a TV program for this. Rock and roll execs should do what is right and not what they think should be. Congrats to AC/DC but look at the bands who should also be there and aren't.

Remember that Brian clearly stated that he was Never brought in to "replace" Bon..He was chosen because Bon was there no more but in spirit...Brian had some very tough shoes to fill back in 1980 but clearly AC/DC fans around the world accepted him with open arms!! It was Bon Scott's family themselves who encouraged the boys to carry on because they all agreed that it's what Bon would have wanted!! It was so cool of AC/DC to have Bon's nephews onstage with them to accept the award!!

@TheWheelofLife100 No. Cliff brought much more power and song-writing, as well as versiatility to the music that was really missing in Mark's playing. You can really hear a difference with how the music was written to enhance Cliff's bass, where as Mark just hit a bunch of random notes and called it a bass line.
NO band has deserved to be in the R&R Hall of Fame more than these guys. They are the very sole embodiment of rock and roll in it's absolute purest form. The only other band who could rightfully share that title is the Rolling Stones ( which ironically enough, is the only band to share a stage together with AC/DC!) God bless this fucking band for EVERYTHING they have given to us all . NO ONE can ever hold a candle to these guys in my opinion. I'd follow them right down the Highway to Hell!

@spidervenom1992 I don't agree with this at all. Johnson gets plenty of credit, but the fact is the overwhelming majority of ACDC fans favor the early stuff to the Johnson era. They are both very good.... But many of us grew up on the late 70's ACDC, that stuff is classic.
Without Bon Scott it is very likely there would have been no ACDC for Johnson to join.
They are both great tho ..... Back in Black put BJ on the map forever....

Bon Scott was a phenomenal singer and all-round frontman. The resonance of his voice and the electricity in his perfomances are sadly missed. However, it shows the strangth of the band that they could come back from such a devastating loss to go and rock the world. AC/DC paid their dues long ago playing in countless small venues, keeping the faith and hoping that one day they could get the break. Fortunately for the rock world, they did. This is an honour well and truly deserved.

Im sick of Brian acting like a replacement or a outcast. Don't get me wrong I love Bon and on a lot of stuff I think he is better then Brian, but with Bon AC/DC was a bar band who played infront of 4000 people most the time. Brian brought them to huge arenas and a great live show with bombs and explosions which they never had with Bon. In my opinion Brian is the chemistry of AC/DC but Bon was amazingly good and musically most likely better then Brian.
@TheHappynot, Bon gave AC/DC their image and direction, without him they wouldn't be where they are today. They were poised to play the big arenas when Bon died, Brian simply stepped in where Bon left off. Not knocking Brian, but without Bon's live voice and charisma, they wouldn't be standing on this stage. Had they hired Brian in 1975 instead of Bon, no way would have they been as big.
the hall takes a lot of criticism there are still alot of people who are not in there.
KiSS, Rush, Alice Cooper, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Motor Head, April Wine, Journey, Steppenwolf, Boston, The Guess Who. Thank god AC/DC is in there though.
Think about it- if they inducted every great band there was in the 70/80/90 right away, they won't be able to keep having these ceremonies.
They WANT to keep these annual shows running, and they need big bands every year, so they don't waste all their "hot ammunition" right away, they keep some for later years.

I was talking about music wise. Yes tribute. Anyother no. Brian has been nothing but respectful towards Bon. And if anyone were born to sing with ac/dc in bons stead Brian Johnson was. I've had the privelage of meeting Brian (I live in Sarasota, his hometown now) and he truly is just a regular great guy. Very giving and humble.

@spidervenom1992 I don't agree with this at all. Johnson gets plenty of credit, but the fact is the overwhelming majority of ACDC fans favor the early stuff to the Johnson era. They are both very good.... But many of us grew up on the late 70's ACDC, that stuff is classic.
Without Bon Scott it is very likely there would have been no ACDC for Johnson to join.
They are both great tho ..... Back in Black put BJ on the map forever....

Now as for what Brain did! Look at the album sells, and ticket sales from the first Album with Brian (Back in Black) to this day. You will see they sold Millions and gained Millions of fans more. If you like the shows? If you like quality recording and shows, it was $ made since Brain that paid for it!

Bon Scott was a phenomenal singer and all-round frontman. The resonance of his voice and the electricity in his perfomances are sadly missed. However, it shows the strangth of the band that they could come back from such a devastating loss to go and rock the world. AC/DC paid their dues long ago playing in countless small venues, keeping the faith and hoping that one day they could get the break. Fortunately for the rock world, they did. This is an honour well and truly deserved.

Im sick of Brian acting like a replacement or a outcast. Don't get me wrong I love Bon and on a lot of stuff I think he is better then Brian, but with Bon AC/DC was a bar band who played infront of 4000 people most the time. Brian brought them to huge arenas and a great live show with bombs and explosions which they never had with Bon. In my opinion Brian is the chemistry of AC/DC but Bon was amazingly good and musically most likely better then Brian.

@TheHappynot, Bon gave AC/DC their image and direction, without him they wouldn't be where they are today. They were poised to play the big arenas when Bon died, Brian simply stepped in where Bon left off. Not knocking Brian, but without Bon's live voice and charisma, they wouldn't be standing on this stage. Had they hired Brian in 1975 instead of Bon, no way would have they been as big.

KiSS, Rush, Alice Cooper, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Motor Head, April Wine, Journey, Steppenwolf, Boston, The Guess Who. Thank god AC/DC is in there though.

Then you're missing the point.
They don't induct all those bands ON PURPOSE.
Think about it- if they inducted every great band there was in the 70/80/90 right away, they won't be able to keep having these ceremonies.
They WANT to keep these annual shows running, and they need big bands every year, so they don't waste all their "hot ammunition" right away, they keep some for later years.
Further evidence to that: Alice Cooper is an inductee in 2011.
