I read this stuff and I believe it, but you're right- I haven't and can't walk in your shoes. How many "Races" of people do we have on the planet? 100? 1000? The answer is 1...the human race. Here's another interesting fact: Everyone on the planet has the exact same skin and it's the same color, the only difference is the amount of melanin each person has that makes the skin lighter or darker. The major problem is proper education. Of all the many ways we now are able to communicate with each other, it seems like there’s even less communication happening amongst ourselves.

Lady is completely right. The context she used it in was not meant to be offensive. I don't think saying "nigger" is offensive. Now calling someone specific a nigger is a whole different story.

1) Saying "nigger" does not automatically make you a racist.
2) The idea that the words you can or cannot say should be determined by your skin tone is fucking ABSURD. If dark skinned people can say "nigger" whenever they feel like it, then act offended when a light skinned person uses the same word, that is a bullshit double standard, plain and simple.
3) Being so afraid of saying "nigger" that you have to say "the n word" instead? THAT gives the word its power. A word is nothing to fear.
