  • When Fred Astaire did his first screen test, someone said of him, "Can't sing, can't act, is balding. Can dance a little." I bet that person kicked himself for the next 40 years.

  • Actually, Joan began as a dancer! This is a wonderful film and Joan is a her best, totally natural and spirited, no cliches.
