For those who are unaware, at the final moment before the explosion of radiation, right after the chemical reaction in a nuclear strike, there's a massive flourish of light particles and energy, making a nuke a literal rainbow nuke. the reason it seems grey and black is because the shockwave and energy wave afterwards dispel the energy, scrambling it and making the surrounding area a "whitezone". so yes, nukes are literally rainbow bombs.
