As for imposition of Sharia law itself: what part os islam states that Sharia must be imposed by turning places of worship into battlefields with hundreds of children as human shields. Lal Masjid issue was not about imposition of Sharia. It started off as boundry dispute: the municipal authorities took action against the mosque (+ others in the city) which had illegally built on and encroached on land not belonging to them - this itself is against Sharia law! The mosque administration then started to hark on about sharia law in order to gain wider public sympathy & to use it as a pressure tactic to force the govt to back down on the boundry issue.

Extremist mullahs are destroying tolerance from our society and promoting hatred and religious disharmony. Lal Masjid is one of the examples. These mullahs would have gained huge power and every second Masjid would have become another Lal Masjid had we not taken action against these fasadi elements. President has saved Pakistan from this growing threat of religious terrorism. Madarsa reforms should be introduced sooner and all Imams should be government appointee for every madarsa.

As for imposition of Sharia law itself: what part os islam states that Sharia must be imposed by turning places of worship into battlefields with hundreds of children as human shields. These clerics were nothing more than cowards and criminals who obviously did not get it that Islam was never spread by the sword. Anyway, the people of Pakistan have showed in the election that they do not stand for these idiots

Lal Masjid issue was not about imposition of Sharia. It started off as boundry dispute: the municipal authorities took action against the mosque (+ others in the city) which had illegally built on and encroached on land not belonging to them - this itself is against Sharia law! The mosque administration then started to hark on about sharia law in order to gain wider public sympathy & to use it as a pressure tactic to force the govt to back down on the boundry issue.

i dont understand how anyone can support these people from lal masjid...they were looking to weaken an islamic state...how can you impose ur will in people...its good that they want to impose shariah...i think we should respect that as muslims...but is this the way? is this what islam has taught them...n then they seek revenge by blowing themselves up...killing innocent muslims...I think people like them have defamed our religion and our country...hope Allah shows all of us the right path....

relax i never said anything to shariah. ull see that if u read wat i wrote. i am muslim...wont claim to have more knowledge than u.. i do understand that islam is not about halal meat only...but as far as i know...its not abt blowing up ppl either or imposing will on ppl by force. The prophet (Pbuh) didnt force muslims or non-muslims to grow beards.... do u honestly think they were right in demanding imposition of shariah in this manner?

You seem to be getting your Islam from media and not from Qur'an or Sunnat or from any ulama.
In an Islamic country, especially when there is no khilafat, Muslims must try to spread Islam within their own communities. That's what Lal Masjid was doing. The enforcement of Shariat is a mandate for all Muslims, especially at this time when there is no khalifah.

The students at Lal Masjid nor the administration did what you are saying or even close to it. They took action against what any Muslim should take action against: selling of women at brothels and destruction of mosques.
There is no shari'i punishment for not praying or growing a beard. Shari'ah is not enforced by tableegh. Muslims are not Christians who would let their society sink into secularism.

It is not 'violent means' as you put it. The media seems to give the benefit of the doubt to brothel owners who are obviously lying (the brothel owner was easily willing to give up Islam; very pathetic!) and accepting all that the government says happened after having a complete media blackout.
Please research "Nahi anil munkar" and how this refers to Islam. It is a major part of Islam and a concept practiced by the Prophet (saw) and the Sahaba (ra) and a mandate for Muslims across the world.
