  • Wow! The only thing most people are getting out of this is the use of the word gay? Too much reality TV has rotted the collective intellect. Sigh.

  • @GrizDrummer25 I was referring to the presumed implied meaning of your previous statement.

  • LOL

  • I still love these old fractured fairy tales!

  • Man, I was little when I use to watch this, sitting next to my cousin, while drinking strawberry Quick... Early 70's. Best of times.

  • I'm ancient! LOL forgot all about these - and I;m gay! ROFLMFAO

  • This was many years before homosexuals usurped the word gay for themselves.

  • Back to the drawing "bored" for the witch! (LMAO)

  • When did this air on boomerang?

  • does someone had beauty and the beast fractured fairytale? can u pls send me link!!! tnx a lot

  • Thumbs up if your school told you to watch this.

  • Okay...upon doing a bit more research and closing my eyes so as not to be distracted by images...I DOTH BELIEVE that I have found the voice of the prince to be that of Daws Butler...I realized it when I heard a bit of the prince in Cap'n Crunch, and vice versa. What a riot that a person can be so talented with one set of vocal cords!

  • I love the prince's voice...reminds me of Louis Edmonds playing Roger Cpllins from "Dark Shadows," but I cannot find that it is his voice. Anybody know who played the prince's voice? I recognize a VERY young June Foray (Granny in Sylvester and Tweety, Rocky the Flying Squirrel, Natasha from Bullwinkle, Witch Hazel in Bugs Bunny, and many others of which I am sure I am unaware). TOTAL CLASSIC TV going on here! I miss being young, but this helps a LOT! :-)

  • can up put the Beauty and the beast one up? that's my fav...

  • @tlmmy2

one day you may learn that this is classic stuff, untouchable by todays cartoons.

Oh by the way...gay means happy, not homosexual.

Thought id tell you that as you seem to not know.

  • absolutely awsome :)

  • hilarious! they'll never top this stuff

  • The princess sound just like Abby Cadabby! LOL

  • Im So Old....

  • This is soo cute!

  • Classic. Horten is amazingly good as the narrator!

  • Love that little opening jingle. Such memories.

  • Everyone need to drink from the Whatsamatta U coffee cup.

I do every day. Makes me happy.

  • Who Created the $7 Trillion Deficit? Dogs,Bullwinkles ?

  • June Foray as Leaping Beauty-sounds a little like Rocky the Squirrel.I love FFT's!

  • No, she sounds like Little Blue Riding Hood!

  • When was the last time Rocky and Bullwinkle was on Boomerang?

  • now we know what was the influence for Dee Dee (dexter's lab). They copied this character.

  • I wouldn't be surprised if she was!

  • I love these fairy tales and use to watch them as a kid. Thanks for bringing back the memories!

  • I love Fractured fairy tales.

  • Thanks!

  • Can someone tell me what the spell was? I couldn't make it out.

  • Instead of making people happy, the witch made Beauty make people bored.

If you want to know what she said exactly, I'll give it a shot:

"From my magic medium come on ui and tedium, dreary, dreary, dull and bleary, Beauty's voice will make them weary, ordinary people sleep for Beauty, now, is just a creep."

  • ENNUI ennui as in ' boredom '

  • I never knew how to spell that

  • @ilikethecoke

Very close. The word after come on is ennui, French for boredom.

  • Twilight in a Nutshell, anyone?

    XD

  • Love these too. The narrator, Edward Everett Horton was one of my favorite character actors.

  • I Saw this on WGN A few weeks ago!

  • to bad speeding beauty one is not on youtube

  • This was originally presented on "ROCKY AND HIS FRIENDS" in early 1960 (and initially telecast in black and white).

  • this is weird. =(

  • @lolabella198

it is so normal! ..that is why it seems weird to you.

Todays cartoons are weird. News is weird. Movies , and music is weird and extreme!

So i can see why you see these very normal and innocent cartoons as weird.

I feel glad to see the world for what it truly is and not be blinded by the

brainwashing techniques (bugs bunny taught me how to spell that) that are employed on the masses.

  • Hahahah this was so Cute!!!!!

If you liked this you should go to lulu, com and check out the new fractured fairy tale called Jack and the Cheese Stalk

written and illustrated by a 17 year old named jacob knowles

  • these writers were the best

their dry humor, the stereotyping of cultural characters, yet the tales are so reflective of today.

  • o___O

    This...is...trippy.

    Us young'ns will never understand.

  • I love these! Thank you, thank you!

  • I remember watching this as a kid many years ago! Check out PRANKSTERS IN THE PARK. If it puts a smile on your face its purpose has been fulfilled..

  • Beauty looks a bit like Sarah Jessica Parker. :> did anyone else notice that?

  • this is so symbolic

  • Love it! Thanks for posting!

(It's also a nice reminder that certain words and symbols have rather recently been hijacked and, erm, bent beyond recognition. Boo-hoo.)

  • Settle down, dude - this was made before the word 'gay' was hijacked. Back then, it meant happy in a light-hearted, care-free way. =D

  • @talitha00cumi

On the contrary, by the time these cartoons were made the word "gay" was already beginning to come into general use as a name for homosexual men. (It's now being used to describe both men and women, but that's beside the point). And you can bet that these irreverent cartoons meant it as a double entendre.

  • @talitha00cumi LOL!!!

  • Edward Everett Horton was born in 1886, imagine living long enough to do a cartoon in 1961, amazing.. He was even in Silent films in 1922. He was an old gay nellie, never married, and seemed to keep that Brooklyn accent. Listen closely resembles the accent of Moe Howard / George Burns and other New York city actors. He lived to be 83. Remember him in F-Troop too.

  • He made an appearance in the movie, "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad, World" - I believe he played one of the air traffic controllers who was trying to talk Buddy Hackett and Mickey Rooney down.

  • Of course, so did everyone else!

  • Classic. I have a Leaping Beauty Bobble Head:)Thank you.

  • lol!

  • i watched this all the time when i was little. it brings back good memories ☺ ☺ ☺

  • To make you gay....XD

  • Thanks for posting this. My favorite line in Leaping Beauty: "We all know that Kings and Prime Ministers are not ordinary people, otherwise how would they get to be Kings and Prime Ministers"

  • women should stop talking is the moral of the story. You could say that back then but not now

  • Heh, some women got the gift of gab, but most abuse it.XD

  • shoot its over 40 years ouch

  • "Education".. THAT is the CATEGORY???!!!

  • That's Paul Frees voicing the witch. June Foray couldn't perform the witch because she was busy voicing Leaping Beauty

  • My mistake: Actually that is Bill Scott voicing the witch. But the reason why is still the same; June Foray was busy voicing Leaping Beauty! It makes sense: an actress voices the beautiful young maiden, a man voices the ugly old hag.

  • EDWARD EVERETT HORTON, 'cartoons'. His name was prominently featured during the opening title sequence...

  • I love the actor who narrated this. He was funny, and I don't know his name. I loved these cartoons. Long time no remember. Thanks.

  • This was one of my most favorite cartoons when I was a kid! "The Rocky & Bullwinkle Show"

  • thank you for posting. i actually remember this episode when i was a kid!

  • thanks 4 sharing. please upload more if u can...
