The US military in Iraq are among Iraq civilians daily who are allowed to have a Fully-Automatic AK47 for defense in their homes, but the civilians in the freest country in the world are no longer trusted to own NEW machine guns, though it is written in our bill of rights. Pathetic!
Our military service members fighting for the freedom of Iraqi's civilians can not own or carry some SEMI-AUTOS in some states when they return to the USA. Great, huh?
Hopefully that is the case. It's just plain unconstitutional to ban weapons for law-abiding Americans citizens while allowing police and military to use automatics and short-barreled weapons.
It's like saying that we're all just criminals and can't be trusted. It's not hard to pick up smuggled automatics or modified weaponry, but most of us still just don't do it because we AREN'T criminals.
