  • I recommend reading Gunter Gras' book "Crabwalk'...

  • I didn't notice the edited parts.

  • i would be so scared down there damn

  • there is a fantastic book written by Reiner Daehnhardt and Heinz Schön, a member of the crew who survived the Wilhelm Gustloff catastrophe, called "From Heaven to Hell: from the island of Madeira to the Baltic, the biggest ever naval disaster".

  • excellent video. quite something. myself id be interested in seeing the full uncut film of the human remains. are they visible on the seabed and in the ship? there seems to be some marine growth on parts of the vessel.

i think the uncut film will show the awful cost and stupidity of war and educate present generations. and that can only be a good thing. the world needs to know the full story of this, also the other ship sunk by the soviet sub S13 and more loss of life.

  • everybody knows about the titanic and how bad it was, but not about this ship and all the mothers and their children who died. people dont even know about the wilhelm gustloff here in germany, i've never even heard anything about it until i read it in wikipedia a few weeks ago. its pretty strange.

  • innocent? gestapo soldiers too?

  • yes babies are innocent!

  • 9000 to 10000 died

  • Aleksandr Marinesko rott in hell!(those that dont know he was the captain of the S13 supmarine that sunked that ship.)

  • @tikkarityyppi amen!

  • the grave of 9,500 innocent souls....

  • The bell was found in a Polish fish restaurant stolen during an illegal dive. i don't know where it is now thou probably not In germany where it belongs. Its another one of those war crimes that we don't discuss because the victims were german. May their souls rest in peace

  • @godstargodstar The Bell is now in the museum in Gdansk.

  • How far down is the Gustloff resting?

  • 400 to 490 meters down in the baltic sea

  • That's not possible. They are diving the wreck on twin cylinders, and a single stage. Based on the equipment the divers in the video are carrying, i would think it's 80meters MAX

  • Hmmm... a little research on the web told med it's resting at 61 meters.

  • do you know how deep the baltic sea is?

  • the deepest point in the baltic sea is 459meters

  • 50meters is the max for going down when you are diving. and she sunked to 45meters

  • Why should i care how deep the baltic sea is?? That's not the question. My question was how deep the wreck is resting, and as i pointed out, the web said 61 meters give or take. I found my answer. And by the way... 50 meters is NOT the max depth for diving, as you claim.

  • thats what a danish website said. but i had a question about it. i admit that you are right about diving

  • No problem :-) Just read that the wreck is marked on a seachart due to it's depht. Wonder if diving is alowed on this wreck, or prohibited?

  • of all shipwrecks that i know in the baltic sea (only two) then its m/v estonia. diving inside her is prohibited

  • the wreck lies at 38 - 43m

  • Do you know if diving on this ship i prohibited or not?

  • yes , you have to obtain an official permit from German government, they declaring that the ship as a war grave, however, it is stil possible to get that kind of permit with lots of difficulties and problems then you have to ask the polish authorities for a dive permit. The video is ok, however probably very censored cause all the people are still downthere, and there is so much ****** that you can not actually avoid such a scenario even an average dive, are you sure you want see that ?

  • Its so eerie.......poor people.

    Where did the ship sink?

  • Shots of human remains have been edited out as you correctly assumed. Passage ways are covered in human thigh bones, skulls, boots etc - it is difficult to comprehend the scale of this single sinking that resulted in 4 times as many deaths as the Japanese attack on pearl harbor, 6 times as many passengers lost as on Titanic.

  • i would like to see those shots, could you please tell me where I could find them? that is if they are existing.

  • btw I also heard that the entire area around the wreck is "covered with human remains, skulls, and bones."

  • Hi Alex,

I uploaded the complete video to Youtube in 5x 10minute parts, but was asked to remove it.

Yes, the entire area around the wreck is littered with human remains. The passage ways are a foot deep in bones, skulls, boots, equipment etc. The sinking must have been a disaster of epic proportions.

  • That is fascinating. on the research I have done it appears to be one of the worst shipwrecks to date. I find it hard to believe and understand why hardly anyone knows of it.

  • @scubaengineering Hey man...where can i see the full video? can you send it to me? I heard the wreck is great the railing still has teak thats great.

  • @scubaengineering Why would you edit the remains it's part of the tragedy? Could you do a seperate upload where the remains can be seen?

  • Very nice video and music.

Have shots of human remains have been edited out? Because this wreck is littered with bones.

  • Dziekuje za zdjecia.

  • Awesome video. Visibility looks really good! RIP, all 10,000 souls.

  • cooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool
