In the case of Mushihimesama Futari and DoDonPachi DaiOuJou, the Black Label versions are easier. In fact, Futari Black Label's God Mode is considered easier than Futari 1.01's Maniac Mode, which is a step below that versions's Ultra Mode (which NOBODY has beaten yet).

@23tlp Touhou 13 Ultra is certainly worthwhile difficulty. However, even though the first stages of Touhou 13 UItra and Mushihimesama Futari Ultra have similar read complexity, Futari's bullets are much faster (especially in version 1.01). Last stage is pure hell.
As for the final bosses, Ultra Miko is more difficult than usual but still can't compare to the final boss of Futari. Read precision and parallelism are much higher in the latter. And that's not even considering the TLB.

@23tlp I think you saw the God Mode TLB (Spiritual Larsa), which does go down very quickly and is a total joke compared to the Ultra Mode TLB (Queen Larsa). SFKhoa has a nice no-miss no-bomb replay of the God Mode TLB here on YouTube (/watch?v=HWD-GZP35u8).
The Ultra Mode TLB, however, does not go down quickly. The length of the battle is grueling (/watch?v=6M5lsigC_GM#t=300s), especially considering that the attack patterns are MUCH more difficult than on God Mode.
@23tlp In fact, the battle with Futari Ultra TLB is actually a whole minute longer than the battle with Ultra Miko - 5 minutes for Futari Ultra TLB in comparison with 4 minutes for Ultra Miko (in Jaimers91's replay).

I didn't say it was much different from Touhou. The main point of my argument was "Futari just has a load of life", because you said it's harder because it took more time to defeat than Miko. Your hitbox on Futari is 3x3, and the bullets are considerably slower for the most part.
But I agree, Futari is harder... if only for the fact that all bullets are pink or purple, have a broken hitbox and blink nonstop. Well, the game's older anyway...

I was looking through a Guiness World Record book for 2011 (Game Edition), and Touhou got a record for 'Most Prolific Fanmade Shooter Series'. Besides, Futari's bullets are going pretty fast for patterns of that complexity, similar to how patterns behaved in Touhou 11-12.
Also, Touhou 13 1.00a Ultra does make significant changes from regular Lunatic, I've seen both.

I read all the memes about touhou in probably ever, and when I finally got my hand on MoF (loltorrenthoud:P) and saw Hina for the first time, I put one of those "fake annoyed" looks on my face and basically mocked her spinning the entire time XD

@SelCrysti there's much better ones, I dint really like Mountain of faith though all the other Touhou games are much better in my opinion. Look up "The flower patterened sake dish on Mt.Ooe" it's better than this
