Dear God, how good can this man be anyway?!? It's like he's in a whole league of his own. No matter how many times I watch these old videos I'm always astounded...and I don't think there has ever been another dancer like him ever. The world of dance is defined by Slavik! In regards to Elena vs. Karina, I think they're both wonderful dancers. However, Karina's Rumba with him, IMO, was amazing. This Cha Cha with Elena just makes me want to go and do it--especially that deep bend right at the beginning. She looks so effortless doing it. It's fabulous.

Slavic is the back bone of any dances he

does with any partner... i love the guy

as for elena & karina, the difference i notice between the 2

is that Elena seems to give in to him and to their dance

sort of effortlessly... where as Karina is wild... i enjoy elena's style, and her long slinder body .

The partnership had gone wrong by Blackpool and they were on the brink of splitting.

Comparing Karina and Elena is like comparing chalk and cheese. Both brilliant for different reasons and both partnerships were very high in quality.

Also, while this is certainly accomplished dancing I think that the version of this routine titled "Slavik and Elena (Cha Cha)" and uploaded by simpsdance is somehow more pleasant to watch. I also like the version from WSS.

THey are technically brilliant but completely lacking inthe character of cha-cha-cha. cc suppose to be a flirtish dance about courtship. I don't like to pour water but it is so lacking in character.

that's the point! i am not saying they are not technically brilliant. this is dancing, which is suppose to be expression of movement to music. it has a theme to it. in cha-cha-cha, that theme is the flirting between a man and a woman. with the way they are dancing, they may as well dance a samba to this music. this is more central to cha-cha than to make it to final of Blackpool.

Elena isn't Karina, but she's a great & successful dancer & probably the best lady Slavik could have chosen for his new partner. Her style is completely diferent to Karina's, so she doesn't look as if she's trying to copy her which is good & it's still eary days for them both. At least Slavik's still out on the floor competing & having success.Let's hope Karina returns soon as well. They might not be together anymore, but seeing them dance separately is better than not seeing them at all!

i'm a fan of these talented ladies because they are different, each has their attributes and style. A true dancing fan would appreciate different styles, absolutely!

Karina and Slavik were amazing together and will always be missed, but I doubt they could ever get back together. I heard they were on the verge of splitting for about a year before they actually did and after their relationship off the floor fizzled out they were really struggling to maintain their dancing chemistry and were barely speaking. I'm glad they went out at the top rather than ruining what they had on the floor together by staying in a partnership that they weren't happy in.

karina and slavik were powerful and sexy... in my opinion elena can't compare to karina's power and speed of movement.

Slavik needs to go back to Karina. Elena just is not as good as Karina. Wonder why they broke up in the first place. Had they not, they would be number one now.
