I like the intellectual scalpel of pakistani historian Salman Rashid to dissect this topic and reveal the true nature of the kalash identity, from a scholarly and historical point of view. The french Loude &Lievre did a good job in their account. Museums, excellent idea, but the Brits take artifacts to their museums, depriving locals of knowledge.

no one in nuristan or in the kalash valleys actually believe the alexander story, it has been imposed by outsiders' romantic views because of a few similarities. even the recent DNA analysis has cleared any macedonian connection. stop pandering false information. me, nuristani, and my ancestors are from this land, alexander may have passed through here, but we are not descendents of alexander or his soldiers. many of our people use the myth and make money form tourists who are lured here.

yes thats true, they conquered the whole empire but they settled in bactria and built there the first kingdom and these people may are a mix of greeks and bactrians for sure....... now actually theyre part of afghanland and and some of them migrated to the west.....
So many years later in the year 2008 a young kalash boy friend of Sharaket has posted a new vidio of an old film which was done 35 or 40 years ago all the people in this Kalash movie can be seen performing on drums and dancing what a wonder ful co incident that generations to come will remember the kalash movies done so many years ago greetings to the valley chiefs of Kalash I wish them all well after all KALASH are being helped with the help of Documentations at least on youtube THANKS for this
