  • thank you my friend for sharing culture

  • Shakuhachi is not Chinese

  • @uchicha666 Yea, you are right. The Shakuhachi is actually a japanese instrument. But music belongs to no nation. It belongs to the heart of people.

  • I can't believe it, your music is wonderful, I will explore more into your music. Thank you.

  • so peaceful and relaxing..

  • thumbs up if you went to the nearest body of water, set up a really small pole and are standing on it while playing this on max volume as onlookers just gaze at your intesity

  • @perropeppe lol I haven't done that but I could image it

  • shakuhachi is JAPANESE. the chinese ancestor to it is the XIAO

  • So cool :)

  • it sounds like the opening music from the movie Baraka.

  • Im a hispanic from Texas, but i dont understand why this kind of music invokes odd memories , i know when i was a child Oriental paintings or styles seemed familiar .... not sure why

  • @Farvan893 Same here! Im part mexican and I think maybe its because american natives are originnaly asian.

  • hayopanching, ayolingsayioshi hung changal tyulori harmashi ghilotiiiii!!!!!!

  • This japanese instrument is really ugly it can never be compered to the chinese Flute.

  • @BlueWater1612 please change the title or you may be disrespecting Japanese people when you put wrong title like that. It should be Japanese flute music: Shakuhachi instead. Even a 10 years -old kid also can know this song is Japanese song

  • My gf is Japanese and i have been to China, Thailand and Japan so i can teel you each country is very different from each other.

  • Japan was less influenced than any other countries in Asia. China has a lot fo festivals which Japanese doesnt know what they are. Japan is unique country in Asia or even in the world. They created avery beautiful culture whcih no country has . By the way, if you were Japanese, you have to say itadakimasu (pray) before eating coz you have to thank creatures are being food for us. IN shrine or temple, Japanese claps their hands twice ( just some simple introduction of Japanses culture).

  • Japan has a lot of things which China doesnt have. Japan has Shinto which China doesnt have. SHinto even came first (Japanese own religion) before Buddhism was introduced to Japan. Go to Japan , espcially form Capital Kyoto and watch Japanese traditional festival as well as temple and shrine(Gion festival, awa dori, yosakoi ,..etc). You will see how much different it is,even Shinto was proven that it is same or very similar to Jewish culture).

  • @KudaKomi "Shinto was proven that it is same or very similar to Jewish culture"

There is one all powerful God in Jewish culture. That is actually more similar to the original Chinese religion of Heaven Worship, which also worshiped one all powerful imageless God. Shinto has many gods with limited powers.

  • All the asian cultures are Chinese BUT loads of them evolved from or heavily influenced by Chinese culture particularly Japanese and Korean.

  • @q1w2e381048104 >All the asian cultures are Chinese

are you korean wannabe?????? don't claiming everything origin.

most things were introduced from India via China.

  • @sijotakane Your profile pic is trollface but I think you are being serious. However, I want you to know that no shits are given over calling it chinese.

  • beautiful...

  • Fucking Gaijins keep saying

"Japanese iInstruments are brought from ancient China." like a stupid.

Origin / base was Ancient China, but those have different shapes and sounds after a long times. we are Not Korean. we never say "shakuhachi's origin is Japan" like koreans. but shakuhachi is Japanese.

    is scotland's bagpipe Arabian iInstruments?

  • FUCK YOU RACIST UPLOADER , YOU ARE NAZI

  • funny how chinese flute music is the same thing as japanese traditional music

  • I play 4 instruments, thought I could teach myself so bought a shakuhachi and it's the hardest instrument I've ever encountered! Challenging and I'm not yet at the point where it's a meditative tool. One day I'll achieve suizen. Beautiful video! Thank you so much for posting.

  • 美しさ

    beauty

  • im Chinese i could only tell you is Japan keeps a lot of Chinese ancient culture ,becoz we'll destory a dynasty when another one is come up,so we lost many good things...Japan and Korea keeps a lot of Chinese style things ...so thanx

  • well change the title then

  • its Japanese you muppet

  • wtf this one sucks

  • You know, just so everyone can enjoy the music and the video as a whole, it would probably be a good idea to just correct the title to say Japanese instead of Chinese. The music is played in a very unique Japanese style, and it will make Japanese folks kinda irritated if the title still says Chinese. No pressure!

  • Almost all traditional japanese musical instruments were brought from ancient China. Dont forget China had been most powerful country on every front before 19th century. But now in charge of Communism Party, sad, hopefully CommuParty can accerlerate pace of reforms.

  • I've had this song in my music library on my PC for absolutely years. Played once in a while on shuffle, but I never knew the name or where it came from - and now I don't know where it's gone.

And now I recently refound it, whilst looking for a bamboo flute to buy. :')

  • this is absolutely beautiful. thank you for sharing this with us @Bluewater1612

  • chinese or not,the music in its beauty is all that should matter, why on earth anyone would care when this music brings such peace&renewal to ones-self. all you should be focusing on is the music, nothing else.

  • Shakuhachi is a Japanese instrument. But the shakuhachi is actually a descendant of the Chinese Xiao flute.

  • @wgh999 The notch of Chinese Xiao is like a valley, inside the vertical flute. The Shakuhachi is flat, and outward. Shakuhachi is more difficult to play. Shakuhachi is used mainly in Japanese 'Zen' (禪, Japanese Buddhism), The "airy" sound is part of Japanese culture, resembling the nature or mediation.

But "airy" sound in Chinese Xiao (vertical flute) is considered "exceptionally poor" as Xiao (vertical flute) is used mainly in secular music.

    Difference in culture.

  • @BlueWater1612 "shakuhachi" is NOT!!! chinese banboo flute!!!

dont't upload with your poor knowledge about japan!!!

  • @kap6pa

shakuhachi is in fact an instrument brought into Japan from classical age of China ;)

  • ShaKuhachi is Japanese, so why would they be playing a Chinese flute?

  • Hi guys, shakuhachi is a present day traditional instrument in Japan.

But it is in fact brought from Tang dynasty of China to Japan. You can still see the original shakuhachi in the Todaiji in Nara, it was brought straight from Tang dynasty. Shakuhachi lost its continuation during the Mongol rule in China. In fact a lot of classic Chinese culture were lose during the Mongol of China, but they are still well preserved in present day Japan.

  • this is truly beautiful,i feel soothed and comfortable

    thanks for this!

  • qué música tan deliciosa....

  • this song as a beuat voice

  • So, I'm heading to China in 50 minutes for a conference call...using this to get inspired........

  • this music sounds almost native American with it lulling high an low notes and the emotional pitch of the instruments hypnotic abilities.

  • Aloha, this is very beautiful :))

  • the shakuhachi is Japanese...

  • I think this is a Japanesesong not a chinese music, that's why there's a "scary" quality like phuabvaj770 said.

Chinese music is romantic, sweet, not sad or deep like this Japanese song. that's why it's using Shakuhachi the Japnese flute...

  • @oomsanti Chinese music can be sad and sorrowful actually. What you described sound like folk music which those of the Japanese would also be sweet, romatic etc. Reason why "deep" Chinese music is less common is because modern day Chinese people are generally less spritual or religious than before - so music tastes would reflect this.

  • precioso! me reconcilia con mucho de nuevo ver esto, tan facil !

  • ME PUEDEN DECIR EL NOMBRE DE LA CANCION

  • love the picture too

  • wow, where did u get the beach pic???

  • I love it! it's so peaceful and relaxing

  • this sounds scary..

  • I watched a Unit 731 documentary with this music in the background, this song grunges my intestines every time i hear it...

  • @purestgroove Do not mistake the Chinese government for Chinese people or even Chinese culture in general. Show me a country and i'll show you a countries government that has committed heinous acts of avarice. No one likes to be mistaken for something they are not. And lastly, it is true that all paths evolve and no one owns any path, way of life, religion or philosophy. However it is courtesy to acknowledge the progenitors and carriers of such paths.

  • why123 this should be the last topic on your dicussion. FIrst of all buddhism is forever evolving so no one stole anything from anyone. Second of all if anyone is stealing anything from anyone ask the chinese people what they are doing to tibet and tibetan culture and tibetan land? That's for finger pointing. Peace.

  • I never say Japanese steal Buddhism from us, did i? I said Zen came from us.

don't ask me that question, you think Tibetan is not part of Chinese, and my view is different, b/c we have 56 races in our country, and Tibetan is one of them. It is something you, Japs, and the western people that always separate Chinese and Tibetan. why don't you separat us from Mongolians from the Inner Monglia too?

yes, Japanese are stealing Chinese cultures, and including food cultures. you know who you are.

  • @why123 you know less than u think. india

  • @TheUnwantedRebirth the same goes for you. why are you so uncomfortable with what i said?

  • @why123 the idea of soul was not born in china, try to realise that it just looks that way.

  • @BlueWater1612

Hi there, shakuhachi is a present day traditional instrument in Japan.

  • Shakuhachi was brought to Japan from China during the Tang Dynasty. Its name is Chinese: Shaku from Middle Chinese Chek/Chak. Hachi from Middle Chinese Bat. The modern pronunciation in Mandarin is Chiba. But in Cantonese it is Chek-Bat. There was a consonant mutation from archaic japanese to modern japanese. H use to be B. And CH used to be T. It was Shakubati in Old Japanese where the u and i were silent, giving the approximate pronunciation: shak' bat' (chak bat in middle chinese)

  • @gariadara I like flied lice.

  • @RenegadeEngineer I'm sure you do....Chinese have both R and L, we can pronounced both fine. I think you're referring to the Japanese and Koreans, who don't distinguish the two.

  • @gariadara

Wise man/woman that shares his/her knowlede, I salute thee. :) ty

  • @gariadara How do you know that?

  • @MrKit2010 I studied linguistics in college. I have a particular interest on the Sinosphere and its influence on language in East Asia. I can speak, read and write, Chinese (several dialects) and Japanese.

  • @gariadara Yeah but shakuhachi sounds better. Which is 尺八 in kanji. I looked it up and it can also mean something completely different (yet it kinda makes sense) - so i shall watch where i use it in the future (lol can every sentence be read as a pun?).

  • Although, the form of music played here is Japanese. This particular minor scale is distinctly Japanese. But the instrument was invented in China, later taken to Japan.

  • Gracias a todos por vuestros comentarios y es cierto...sakuhachi es Japones, disculpen pero un error lo comete cualquiera, dicho esto os agradezco nuevamente vuestros comentarios y gracias por corregirme

    Saludos y un buen dia

    Miguel

  • shakuhachi is japanese !

  • WOW. Best music evar. <3

  • I love this. Me gusto mucho el poema, la musica, y la imagen hermosa.

  • Could this be the nanyin dongxiao? This sounds more like a flute with a fibble than shakuhachi? Does the xiao have a fibble or is this flute a dizi - I'm sure it isn't.

    Hmm...

    Does Mickey have Buddha nature?

  • @3z3three

    I agree with you.

  • Shakuhachi es japonés

  • q bonita musica hasta caga uno agusto q cosas nooo¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • I've heard that the shakuhachi was originally brought from Egypt to China, called the Sebi. Is this true?

  • wacho cha! this is amazin!!!!!!!!!

  • traditional japanese music i find are the most relaxing and enjoyable.

  • The roots of the shakuhachi is China, but this is a Japanese classical music with a Japanese shakuhachi.

  • Yeah, it's a shame when some people can't tell the two apart. I am Japanese and am always being called Chinese or Korean. It gets annoying...

  • To BlueWater1612.

Friend, this is absolute Japanese Shakuhachi (尺八), not the Chinese bamboo flute. (洞蕭)

    ..

The blowing edge of Shakuhachi is flat, and slanted outward, to favour the Zen (Japanese Buddhism) , while that of Chinese Bamboo flute is a notch inward.

    ,,,

    Very different.

Typically, the "windy" sound is part of Shakuhachi depicts Zen (not in this one),

but of inferior when in Chinese bamboo flute..very different in culture.

  • sir, Zen is not Japanese Buddhism. Zen is the Buddhism brought by Chinese monks to Japan during internal wars. make that more clearer. Japanese have stolen too many Chinese cultures already. You even use the theories of YingYang in Naruto, and now many people think that's Japanese culture. that's not cool.

  • i Agreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee China is da best culture but after our EGYPTIAN culture :P u know wat i love china more than my country :D so smart ppl so kind ppl not lazy :P

  • @zensorship

I totally agree with this guy. If all the asians are trying to be westerners, who's left to be asian??????

  • Zensorship is a troll. Let people do what they want. With "Zen" in your name, it would be assumed that you understood asian/white/mexican/martians are just names. IT transcends that.

  • People don't have to meet your standards. There is no difference if a person likes Disney, or if a person likes Marilyn Manson.
