  • I feel bad for saying this but I think that the car deserved to get hit by the fire truck they weren't paying attention like they were suppost to, If you ever here a siren you need to check your surroundings and make sure your not in the path of the 30 ton fire truck trying to get to someone who's handling an emergency and needs help.

  • Passenger car vs. 70 ton tower ladder, fire truck wins people, every time, pay attention

  • Watch out, CodeRed is deleting comments he disagrees with.

  • @DominicMetal1979 no, it just proves that we have drivers that are asleep in there own world. You can here a firetruck from a million miles away. They should wake up, open there f..kn ears and look at whats goin on around them for a change

  • I work in the same building as the firetruck drivers as I'm a Paramedic. I know for a fact that eat 3 rarely interrupted large meals a day, lights out at 2200 hrs to get rest for the day job, get tiered to medical calls only to be cancelled immediately canceled by us. Without medical calls you monkeys wouldn't have jobs. Your more likely to drop dead of a heart attack then die in burning building while carrying out a small child or cat.

  • @SuperHamiltor

So you are comparing one fire dept. to all the others. When it comes to my fire dept. we run both EMS and Fire calls after we count up the calls at the end of the year we only have about 50 more EMS calls then Fire (BTW we run at least 650 calls a year not much when you compare us to our neighbors who run about 1200 calls a year). I was on a 12 hour call and I watched as a paramedic put on someones gear at 5 in the morning to lend a hand on the supply line filling tankers.

  • @vollyHCFDStation1

Now he is a hero to me for helping us when we were all tired. When we are needed we will bring order when hell itself breaks loose. Some times a friendly fellow emergency worker can make fighting hell not that bad. So I will ask you to be kind and watch what they do when they get into an "all nighters" situation. It might just surprise you.

  • @SuperHamiltor Thats no way to be man, there is no need to down those guys, my fellow firefighters, or as you like to say "Hose Monkeys" like that. You took your job hopefully for the same reason I took mine, to make a difference when some one is having the worst day of there life. Thats what its all about so I ask you please don't be so negative there is no room for it in Emergency Services today.

  • Really? this isn't a form to bash firefighters eh? It's called freedom of speech loser. Sucks when people call you on your bullshit. You live a dream world dude with high levels of insecurity and require constant feedback that you are sooooo great. Well dude, your not but I do apologize for hurting you hose monkey feelings!

  • @SuperHamiltor

I don't look for feedback to know i'm a great firefighter. "Dream world" tell that to the 3 guys who where rushed to the hospital after a chemical plant accident. One being my friend. OR all of the guys that counted on me to be on time with the water every time without fail.

Its easy to criticize some one when you never even bothered to find out who they are and what they do.

So please explain to me what you title as an "emergency worker"

  • I didn't expect you retards to understand the concept. I am an emergency worker and do run lights and sirens but also understand that you are no good if the hit another car running a red. You can't assume everyone is paying attention and common sense dictates you stop and make it's clear before going through. By the way I know how often those "priority 1" calls are actually life threatening(very rarely) Also going to a call with just your would just confuse the shit out of people. Good luck

  • @SuperHamiltor

May be in your jurisdiction but around my fire dept. we rarely run priority 1. To be honest Firefighter bashing isn't welcomed from the public and just because your an "emergency worker" doesn't give you a right to bash firefighters.

esp. using terms like "like hose monkey, and retards"

  • @SuperHamiltor

Yeah, and by that time, the person could be dead.

  • @yomamasofat1000 or 2 could be dead and out of service fire truck.

  • @HauntedLighthouses

As an emergency worker I would prefer if people would just stop when our lights are flashing. Just because we are not running the sirens doesn't mean we don't have an emergency

    pleas encourage the following.....

    1) move out of the way to give emergency vehicles more room

    2) stop completely so we don't have to worry about anyone running into us while doing 15 other task

Stay safe and help anyone you can out, you don't have to ride a fire truck to be a HERO

  • WHY the fuck do you stop infront of a firetruck, look at it, and don't do nothing!

  • get the hell out of the way for emergency vehicles you retards

  • just so all u retards out their bout this vid the fire truck has more right of way than a passenger car does and they cant stop on a dim like a car can seeing they have all bout 10 times the weight a car does

  • Those f'n hose monkeys should learn how to follow the rules of the road. They have to come to a complete stop at red and then proceed. Those over funded slugs /heros have the public brain washed. Bet that retard chief wouldn't be defending those firetruck drivers if it was his wife and daughter dead.

  • @SuperHamiltor

Dude, they have to get there in time or else someone could die. If there is a fire, and they don't get there in time, the fire could spread. Use your common sense. If your house was on fire and you were trapped inside, would you want the fire dept. to get there in enough time that they could possibly get you out, or would you rather have them stopping at every red light while you burn to death.

  • @SuperHamiltor

    LOL

Well for starters love the term hose monkeys. In the US there are laws stating when we can run a red light when we can use the light and when we can use the sirens.

priority 1) someone is in danger of losing his/her life- sirens, light, run red lights

priority 2) someones life is threatened-lights, no sirens, obey all rules of road

3-5 even though for different reasons are no lights, no sirens, obey rules of the road though out the emergency

we do it for a reason!!

  • sure it appeared out of no where

  • women drivers no survivors.

  • bad karma....she must have done something bad!

  • Natural selection. Though it sucks when passengers are hurt...

  • Damn female driver " why the he'll are all these cars stop? Oh well I will just go through this four way and beat the fire truck. Fire fighter" looks clear, ok go on through, oh shit don't fuckin do that you piece of shit.... Bang! In this case, sence I'm a jr firefighter, I see this as the girl is not being smart.

  • O Kurwa!

  • haha, awsome, one less asshole driver in the world. Yeild to emergency vehicles, or die. Sounds fair to me.

  • @Polybun fack you

  • @Polybun You're a dumb prick, fuck you

  • Comment removed

  • @muldoon55 only the black ones. We just don't like blacks or Irish on our fire department, no problems.

  • @muldoon55

don't talk down to all firemen

my mission is protect lives and i do just that

i have turned down incentive programs that would reward myself for going on calls but still go on them

i am that fireman who will reach into hell itself to pull you out, and receive no recognition for it. no matter what age, religion, race, and your past history.

I judge no one and will give my life to anyone

i would expect the same from my fellow man

  • @vollyHCFDStation1 awsome comment. it sucks that a choice few dont get it and or ruin it but anyone who wants too understand what real firefighters are about google"the firefighters prayer" thats y we exsist.

  • @muldoon55 I totally agree with you. The public blanketly treats all firemen as Gods and heroes who never screw up. These accidents are always the other persons fault huh? Bullshit. I know some good firemen, but I also witness firsthand firemen that abuse their jobs and do absolutely nothing to deserve the praise that they get. Most of them are good at taking credit for the work of others......I like how hte chief says "they weren't going fast".....bullshit. the side of that van is demolished.

  • @Polybun

agree with the get out of our way but why do you have to act like that.

  • @vollyHCFDStation1 Well, why not? The fact of the matter is, most people are so blindly self centered and willingly ignorant, they simply don't even deserve to be alive. Now, these type of people are going to be the ones that ignore emergency vehicles approaching. They try to stay on the road right up until you are 10ft from them. They see and hear you coming 2 or 3 blocks away, and pull over when you are 10ft away. Fuck these selfish pieces of shit.

  • @Polybun

im not sure if you are a fireman but i believe in every life is important

no matter how they act i say just deal with it and hope to god they will wise up

    AND I DONT CONDONE SWEARING!!!!!

    so plz keep it clean

  • @vollyHCFDStation1 Tough fucking shit. I don't believe in unholy magical words that undo everything. Swearing is a fact of life. Fucking deal with it. I'll do whatever the fuck I want. Respect the 1st admendment, or get the fuck out of the country.

  • @Polybun You either are a hose monkey are want to be one. Having no common sense or even having a brain in your head is must for the Fire Dept. I hope day a f'n out of control Fire Truck blow a red and takes out your family...one less asshole driver!!!!!!!!

  • @SuperHamiltor I hope your house burns down cuz the fire trucks slowed down. One less unappreciative dumb fuck

  • las mujeres conductoras...´ç++ç`-.¡'@´-`´+Ç*¿

  • women drivers

  • @Ytherenonamesleft138 When it's a woman you know, you can say that asshole.

  • women drivers.....

  • women drivers, lol

  • In the UK you are taught to treat all drivers as idiots and take things carefully, these things happen as people are too accustomed to the driving and dont drive defensively. I have seen drivers stop in front of the Emergency Vehicle like their brains cannot handle the situation, they panic. As the other guy said You are no good to anyone if you dont get to the shout (incident). Few people know that you may run a red light to make way for Emergency Vehicles just take the vehicle No 4 cameras

  • @Seal00754 All drivers in the UK are bound by the same traffic laws, drivers of emergency vehicles during an emergency can claim dispensation provided what they do is done in a safe manner, however if they contravene ANY traffic law that results in a accident or damage/injury etc then they are automatically at fault e.g. if they pass the red light, fail to give way/stop or cross into on-coming traffic etc, etc. treating all other drivers as idiots also includes drivers of emergency vehicles!

  • @Seal00754 - in the us they also are trained threw a defensive program like all enforcement of any kind. that is irrelevant - a car just didn't hear or see the fire truck and a mistake was made. can't take back those actions but you can't prevent something you can't see onces its too late. So I say poor fire truck driver he must feel so sad for the mistake since he couldn't avoid something he never saw coming, and i also feel for the family who had lost those people. Thumps up if agreed

  • lol news 12 nj thats where i live lol

  • can someone say ironic

  • the guy says proceed with extreme caution, what run the red light yourself

because they might just be reckless and crash right into you,

Its pointless to be reckless when the whole point of being first responders

is to help in accidents not cause them

  • Im a Lt. at a fire house in Fl. Your correct Engineers do have to drive with due regard. Also moving out of the way of a responding apparatus is a courtosy not a law. All Engineers are required to abide all traffic laws. They are allowed to go 10 miles an hour over the posted speed limit. Law states they may pass through a red light once the absence of oncoming traffic has been confirmed. If a fire truck runs a red light and hits another vehicle, according to law he has complete liability.

  • @farrj29 ; "moving out of the way of responding apparatus is a courtesy not a law"??? Is Florida 100 years behind the rest of the world? In Washington state it IS a law, & police do follow responding fire apparatus, & DO WRITE EXPENSIVE TICKETS, for failure to yeild the right of way.

  • @cowboyblue55 YOu Forgot Too mention unless they Changed it since 96 that it is also mandatory Driving school as well Im a WASH Native And Was Lectured when i moved back from idaho on this

  • I know a lot of stupid people still driving while hearing the siren. I dont feel bad . But maybe the lady is deaf would be a different reason lol.

  • lol at 1:46

"Report says Pentagon accidentally sold F-14 fighter jet parts to public"

How the hell do you sell a fighter jet accidentally?

  • I guess you can fix stupid.

  • Something DOESN'T just pop up in the middle of an intersection.

  • @rancheres07 Hahaha. I had an accident once where a tree "popped up" in front of me going around a corner. Really, it did. Just "popped up"

  • women drivers /facepalm

  • I think both the drivers and firefighters just need to be more cautious....ppl should be able to hear the sirens and try to move if at all possible

  • If the firefighters in this accident were speeding and weren't following their safety procedures then they are at fault. You are trained that 1st your safety 2nd your crews safety 3rd the bystanders safety 4th your victims safety. When going on a call i agree that you must get their as fast as you can but you need to watch out for others before you patient.

  • @Grizzleyben707 EXACTLY.. They cant just expect everyone to hear them and get out of their way especially at intersections.. By the way does anyone know where the fireengine was going? what was the emergency?

  • Love how the witness almost pisses his pants with laughter while telling the story...

  • Wait??! The chief says they weren't driving fast?? The car is totalled, and ended up 30 feet from the point of contact. So much for his knowledge of physics and simple first responder information regarding collisions.

  • dude its a big ass truck its going to push that car a good distance

  • @NateDawg797 YEP, ITS A BIG TRUCK. MASS X VELOCITY2. THE FASTER HE WAS DRIVING, THE MORE DAMAGE TO THE OTHER VEHICLE. HENCE MY PREVIOUS COMMENT.

  • arm I know that when running lights and sirens in any state you must come to a stop, and secure the intersection before proceeding when you have a red light! I wasn't there but what I believe happened is that the other two fire trucks made it through the intersection, and then the car thought it was safe to go.. I may be wrong in what happened but I am certain in the fact that you must secure the intersection before going through a red light no matter what!!

  • @john4wt I know since i work for a fire department that our SOPs are that one must follow all traffic laws except when running a code 3 call. In that case you have to slow down but not come to a complete stop to check the intersection before continueing even on a red light. The only difference is that you can role through intersections on a code 3 but a firefighter still has to follow all other safty procedures.

  • Firetrucks have to come to a complete stop at a red light... since these red light cameras the fire department in our city has gotten the most tickets... rolling stops don't count. FULL STOP.

  • Comment removed

  • RitzCrackers: If a firetruck is en route to a scene (and will be lights and sirens), they don't stop. However, depending on the area, do slow down. In my area they must slow to 15mph when going through an intersection and down to 5mph if they must drive on the opposite side. The speeds may vary, but when time is of the essence, the rigs won't stop at a light

  • @Armistice023 At a red light, no matter what, they have to come to a complete stop before continuing through. This ensures the intersection is clear and safe.

  • Ritz. Might be the proticol for your area. I can assure you in my area, the firetrucks do not stop, but do slow down to ensure safety. I have done ride alongs with diff dpts and none of them stoped when we were running to a call

  • @Armistice023 it's all grey areas. department policy typically states that drivers have to briefly stop to ensure a red light is safe to pass thru, but almost no drivers full out stop nor are they told to. its just a piece of paper that says thats what they're supposed to do.

  • the correct term for the driving deal is EVDT

  • lol ev should stay out of my way when idrive cause my systems is so loud i cannot hear the stupid siren

  • That's because you're a fucking idiot

  • you are an idiot what if they are headed to rescue someone you know or love, now granted they are supposed to stop and clear intersections but you need to move over and turn your stupid system down i hope they blow your ear drums!

  • they are post to slow down and even stop before they go through a red light. But alot of them dont. when im a fire fighter only part time when fire season is i drive the truck and everytime i come up to a red light i slow and sometimes even stop and make sure theres no one going in front of me. i have had cops pull people over because they wouldnt get out of my way or stop to the lights. and almost hit me after i made sure everyone saw me.

  • This depends on which state your looking this "law" up on. Yall "yappin" back and forth and didnt think of that?? ( are either of ya certified) in the fire service that is, EVOC Emergency Vehicle Operation Control , (va.) states that you as the driver / operator are responsible when approching intersections with out due reguard to public safety. State laws arent gonna post ANY law with out a "loophole"

  • @369, Respect for being a fellow stick man, and kudos for actually getting EVOC correct (I can't stand it when someone says "operations course"). Yes I am certified, several times in fact both civilian and Military. Light rescue/brush apparatus, police cruiser, ambulance, TDOT Highway Incident Response Vehicle and in California they even made me do EVOC for my CTT/CSAA/AAA/CHP- Freeway Safety Patrol Tow Truck. "Due Regard" means (roughly) as long as I'm not driving like an asshole, I'm clear.

  • I never wish any harm to anyone, anytime but sometimes people have to get hit by an emergency vehicle before they pay attention...its sad, but true

  • BULLSHIT!!!!!!!! Of course the firetruck/firefighters did no wrong. They are hero's... right? BULLSHIT!!!!!!!

  • @babieolivesteve Love it dude- the whole hero thing is beyond nauseating already....they are no more heroes than anyone else. I am tired of the media, hollywood, and the general public buying into and promoting that myth. There is a definite bias toward the fire departments everywhere, allowing them to screw up, and not be held accountable because of it, and it's about time it stop.

  • @kapenahill Wow, ignorant comment. First, most firefighters do not see themselves as heros at all. The public does what it does, but most firefighters will tell you that they are no more heros, than anyone else doing their job. Hollywood sensationalizes everything, don't like it, don't watch it. More importantly, firefighters are in fact held very accountable for everything. A collision involving a fire apparatus is no different than any other.

  • i 100% agree with adam022695 emergency vihicles have the right of way only when running code and in some states if not all p.o.v.s are also in this catagory

  • EPIC FAIL

  • thats why you should look both ways befor crossing !!

  • I like how its always the firefighter fault that the other drivers are too damn stupid to pay attention for just a few seconds....dammit i hate stupid lazy people

  • i agree

  • Its only during "non-emergencies" when they must obey all traffic laws. This was just a tragic mistake.

  • Absoultly not. You must obey all traffic laws when going code. The only law in which you may take advantage of is speed. You still have to stop at all reds and stop signs etc... It's better to be late or miss a call than to kill someone on the way there.

  • @UnitDead Is this in US? Back here in Lithuania (Europe) all emergency services with blue-red lights (fire, police, hospital, gas and so on) have "main road" priority and do not stop on red, and so on, the limition is only that they must be carefull as much as possible, but would not be their fault for lasy driver. All drivers must pull to a side and stop to let services pass.

  • actually we don't have to stop at reds OR at stop signs. We slow down to see if its clear but we have the right away. NOT you when we are going code

  • @adam022695 Your going code and you come up to a red light and slow down and dont stop and get into a mva whos fault is it? The answer is (Yours). When you come to a red you are asking permission from those who have the green to proceed. If I have a green and you have a red and your going code I do not have to stop. Yelding to an emergancy vehicle does not apply at reds or stops if the apposing party has the right away.

  • yes and no because if you do not stop for an EV thats a ticket and jail time. At least it is in michigan

  • EV's have the right of way at any intersection no matter what color the light is and the right of way at any stop sign BUT you have to exercise what is refered to as due regard. If a crash happens you weren't exercising due regard. Which is what gets EV's in hot water because the government doesn't want to get sued BUT the laws do state that we have the right of way.

  • @adam022695 I remember when I was going code I came up to an intersection and rolled the ambulence and I'm just glad it was like 3 am but I still got shit for not stopping at the red and that I was running to fast lol.

  • I luckily am a little over cautious when I'm running priority *what we call code up here*. I may not stop stop but I know damn well where all the cars are and what they are doin. So I haven't gotten in trouble yet. They need to just make it nation wide if you dont get out of the way of an ev you lose your license period. we aren't going for fun someones life is on the line. It takes 2 seconds to move over and stop.

  • I heard that. At first it's kind of funny to see people freak out but it got old. I know that here in FL if you dont move, your car might have a big dent in the back. I've had to push a car out of the way because they were being a dumbass and there's nothing they can do.

  • An emergency vehicle doesn't have the right of way at intersection or stop sign. The EV has to clear the intersection. They can not go through a red light. They must stop.

  • actually sir you would be wrong. Try doing some research before you speak. Michigan driving code states I do NOT! have to stop at any red light, blinking red light or stop sign. Thank you have a good day

  • MMMMMMMMM!! Okay!! So, if you run a red light and hit a car that had a green light, you would be at fault. Sir!! Research? I'm been driving fire apparatus for over 20 years. I know what I'm talking about.

Go ahead a blow a red light and strike another vehicle. Have a nice day in court or Jail. Thank you and have a good day.

  • now your talking 2 different laws numb nuts. The first law states that I can run any red light, blinking red light OR stop sign,. The 2nd law states that I must operate with due regard. So yet again I DO have the right to not stop at a red light. Go back to drivers training

  • At all intersections, the driver must account for all traffic lanes prior to entering the intersection. If the intersection is a negative right of way(red light, stop sign, etc.) the DRIVER MUST STOP PRIOR TO ENTERING THE INTERSECTION AND MAY PROCEED ONLY IF ALL TRAFFIC LANES HAVE BEEN YIELDED.

Straight out of the Michigan emergency vehicle laws.

So, you do have to stop for a red light, flashing red light or stop sign!!!!!!!!! numb nutt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Drivers training??

  • (3) The driver of an authorized emergency vehicle may do any of the following:

    (a) Park or stand, irrespective of this act.

    (b) Proceed past a red or stop signal or stop sign, but only after slowing down as may be necessary for safe

operation. Try again numb nuts where in there does it say stop? Taken From 257.603

  • 3b is correct. You have to stop if the intersection isn't cleared. My only point. If you run a red light, hit a car, you are at fault. Even if you were already in the intersection. That car has the right of way.

I know of 1 FF that will spend the rest of his life in jail because he didn't clear the intersection and killed 2 people. The fire engine was already in the intersection with a red light. He pulled off and car struck the fire engine. Engine drivers fault.

  • if thats correct then theres a lot of people in my company that should be in jail. If a car his us when we are ALREADY in the intersection after its clear its their fault not ours.

  • I guess your an EMT/FF or a PM/FF? Well, the last time I checked my stations sop's and GL's we have to abide by state and fed laws which state. While operating an EV with lights and/or sirens activated it is the sole responsibilty of the operater to operate that EV in a safe and responsible manor and may take no attempts of brakeing any traffic laws and may only use other yelding vehicals to his/her advantage. If you get into any accident while running code it is your fault every time....

  • Okay T bone me in the middle of an intersection when I'm going lights and sirens. I was already in the intersection. An investigation will be done and it can be proven that you were at fault so its NOT the fault of the EV driver. I've never said anything about due regard through this whole thing. I merely stated that the Michigan law doesn't require you to stop at any stop light or sign. Look up 257.603

  • @adam022695 b) Proceed past a red or stop signal or stop sign, but only after slowing down as may be necessary for safe operation. I looked it up. You still have to stop and make sure it's clear before going through.

  • @UnitDead it doesn't actually say stop though. Slowing down and stopping are 2 different things. Now that I've got my point across I will mention that its in my practice and my company policy to stop at all intersections.

  • So, then I can assume that by making your point in saying you dont have to stop because it says that in your states laws, that you are correct, but by saying it is your companys policy to stop and that you do, you contradict your self. It is of my professional opinion you have no idea what your taking about and should not be behind the wheel of an EV. I dont know how long you've been driving one, but you need to reconsider you job.You are arrogant and have a juvenile sense of mind.

  • @deadunit, You sweetheart, are an idiot. How is it a "contradiction" to say (and I paraphrase) "though there's no law saying I must, I make it my practice to stop"?

I bet you're one of the piece of shit assholes that blames the police when a fleeing felon crashes during a pursuit.

  • How do I reply to that? Well, No I don't blame the police when a fleeing suspect crashes as he is being chased. Why would I blame the police when I'm in the process of going from firefighter to police officer? I'm sorry but I have go report in to my unit now, because I dont need anymore lip from my Sgt. So, I'll get back to this later and tell you that your user name is the most homo one I've seen. Trust me that's saying a lot. Have a bless day pecker breath.

  • That beeing said I pray for the people on the road while you driving code. I can see it now on the news how you killed a mother and her five year old son and said oh well they had the green light and I had the lights and sirens it's they're fault. I really hope I dont see that but you will sooner or later fuck up and kill someone. It's people like you who make it harder for us to help someone whos really in need not a dumbass medic driving like they just got they're license.

  • I know what you were trying to say. I'm just trying to save you from a big head ache down the road.

If I can see both lanes of traffic, I will slow down and then go. But if I can't see both lanes of traffic, I will stop. Clear the intersection and proceed. But there is always that one knucklehead that doesn't see you. No hard feelings dude.

  • And theres something called mutural aid.

Thats why the laws of driving an EV are the same in every state so that people like you dont kill some one while responding to a mutural aid call in the next state over. During the hurricane in New Orleans when FF's and police where going from FL and Georiga to help the was a mutural aid call. Just imagine if FL allowed running of reds and LA didnt. You would have citizens going through and getting hit by a FL fire truck. That would suck now wouldnt it

  • I'm sorry but FF and police from Georgia and Florida weren't responding priority 1 going lights and sirens across states. If they did thats the most stupid thing I've ever heard of. Driving faster doesn't get you there any sooner. @ 60 mph it takes 1 min to travel a mile the only way to make that take less time is to drive 120 mph.

  • @adam022695 so you drive 60 mph for 100 miles. and i'll drive 80 mph for 100 miles. and apparently your willing to bet money that you'd get there just as fast as i would? I'm sorry, but you sir, are a retard.

  • @bradfirec71 you have to go 120 miles an hour just to cut your time in half. Moronic retard. The only thing you do by driving faster is put yourself and the community more at risk because your drivin like an ass. Its not my emergency I didn't cause it and I can't help anyone if I don't get them there safely and I don't get there safely

  • @adam022695 who said anything about cutting time in half retard? if you actually knew what you were talking about, you'd know that cutting seconds off your time could be the difference between life and death for the victim. way to be a complete dick about "im going to take my time because it's not my fault they're in trouble". im aware driving like an ass is an unacceptable risk. i'm simply commenting on your stupid statement that unless your going double the speed you won't get there faster.

  • @bradfirec71 glad your not workin by me your a crash waitin to happen

  • @adam022695 i'm glad i don't work near you either. oh the joys of going to diabetic emergency calls 99% of the time cuz so many people in the states are too fat, dealing with rednecks all the time and people thinking all firefighters are stupid because this moron named adam decided you don't save ANY time unless you go double the speed limit. i feel a lot safer knowing anyone that retarded wouldnt get hired as a firefighter (career or fulltime) in canada.

  • @adam022695 I'm only fluent with Florida traffic laws. So what I'm saying only pretains to EVs in the State of Florida as to reference with other states.

  • You are absolutely right. 100%

  • Well although I do not know the law's of other countries, in Australia you must stop before proceeding through intersections with red lights showing, even if you are going what we call "Priority 1". Hense why here we have major intersections controlled remotely to allow trucks through without having to stop.

  • same with my station in canada

  • actually they cant break the law, thats why every1 else is suppose to pull over

  • You can justify killing someone to save someone else.

  • then what is the point of saving anybody? idiot.

  • my department tells us engineers if your late to the scene who cares and every1 forgets BUT if u kill some1 on ur way to the scene nobody will ever forget u have to drive carfully to these calls lets not forget there are people out there driving around and dont have a clue to what to do when they see a fire truck coming up the road.

  • this is sad but they said firetruck wasnt goin dat fast it just left the station and its true....when u hear a siren always pole over or look around

  • and if you dont hear it ? does department stay over life?

  • Yes. Please, "pole" over...

  • "pull" you ass!

  • i am a fire fighter, on the way to the scene you have to drive with something called "due regard" or respect for other drivers, the driver of the engine should have slowed down for intersection to start with, and let the car go through if the car didnt slow down, it doesnt matter if there was someone in a burning structure or not, if the firemen dont make it to the scene at all, what good are they?

  • Exactly!! No emergency vehicles can run red lights.

  • Pennsylvania law states emergency vehicles may proceed through a red traffic light and a slow speed to insure the right of wayh has been given

  • and that is correct.

  • not to sound like an ass its horrible that people died but the firemen have more things to worry about if there is any one in the house where the hydrant is at plus im sure if the truck was going threw a redlight sireens and air horns were going like crazy

  • I Rode ladder 5 before

  • so what!! u "rode" ladder 5 before u lying and even if u did what do that have to do with this story.

  • ok you all suck i know how it feels im a fireman the dam car don't move and it hard with a big truck like that i know about the stop at the reds we do it so blame the girl

  • Why do fire trucks always hammer it through red lights, you're supposed to fucking slow down and make sure traffic is clear before you blow red lights!

  • They will, even if there wasnt a fatality they get blood tested..

  • shut up the fuckin ppl don't get out of the way to tuff fuck im a firemen so i know how it is

  • Wait a minute, if two trucks had already gone through the intersection just ahead of this truck, why would the "victim" driver not look to be sure more trucks were coming?? It sounds like the trucks were still only yards out of the station and the third truck probably assumed that traffic had stopped and was ready for them to run through the intersection.

  • Emergency vehicles are required by law to stop for redlights. Motorists are required by law to yield the right of way to emergency vehicles. This seems to me like the firetruck slowed down but didn't come to a complete stop. How can you yield right of way to the fire truck if you don't see it.

  • Blame everything on the fire dept. Just remember who you call next time before being so cynical. Driving a rig with you people on the road is worse than most incidents themselves.

  • They still have a responsibility to drive safely to the scene of an emergency.

  • very true nd well said

  • The fire truck was involved in an accident, and is not going to leave the scene. And firetrucks aren't just going to respond with lights and sirens just for the fun of it to see whats going on.

  • Agree... The fire trunk did not stop at all and that is why it pushed the car for 30 ft.

  • Tha fire truck is extremely heavy... Its not going to stop on a dime guys. C'mon these things take a great distance to stop. At lease is was not filled with a 1000 galons of water, which would have made it worse to stop. If a regular car hit the other car, thenthats different, but an 8 ton truck is not going to stop quick at all...

  • Yes, but stopping
