I was performing at a casino in CA and was invited to the "Meet And Greet" with the tribe and the bands.
I commented that I enjoyed Chicago's big band album, 'Night & Day', to which Lee Loughname said, "That's One!".
Later I asked Pat Simmons why they don't include 'Another Park, Another Sunday' in their road show. He just smiled and shook my hand. Does anybody know why they don't play that song?
@Gumbathom I so agree! (Love the response you got from Lee, lol) 'APAS' is my absolute favorite from the Doobies...one of my favorite posts on YT is the Wolf Trap performance. Also they don't play 'South City Midnight Lady.' Maybe you would have gotten a better response from Tom, as I've heard Pat can be quite cocky.
@bze2nlz1 SCML is what I would put on the player whenever the Ex and I had an argument. 'Music to sooth the savage beast' as it were. It worked for a couple of decades until. . .
APAS is what I now consider a mantra, although I have always loved the guitar riff during the instrumental.
BTW, I enjoy Chicago's "Another Lonely Park" for many of the same reasons.
Wow!! It's amazing! The Doobie Brothers sound just as good as they did when they first recorded this song circa 1972. You got 2 legendary bands on the same stage: Chicago and The Doobie Brothers. Doesn't get any better than that!
@1962drob (cont.) The only bad thing about the concert was the screen...it was SOOO dim. (I like having the screen for when people get in the way :-P)

@bze2nlz1 It is a great song indeed. I also like "Up and Down That Highway" and "China Grove". They don't make music like this anymore.

I was there. I was totally blown away. I had never seen the Doobies before, but that was my 11th time seeing Chicago. They are my favorite band.

Excellent bands. I was at that concert. Up in the stands, got backstage passes to meet Jim Pankow. Very fun!
