Where did you find the larger blue stones/large gravel for your substrate? I've read that regular-sized gravel is not good for goldfish, as they may accidentally swallow it/choke when pecking for food at the bottom. I've only seen black stones or natural colored stones out at the stores where I live. The blue is much prettier.
I got a comet and then I got a black moor and I intend on having more fancy goldfish. Would anyone know if it is better that I sepparate the comet from the fancy goldfish, since it steals all the food? is it life threatning for the fancy goldfish?
You have wonderful goldfish!! Congrats!! I love ur Tancho, but also the others. What is the name of the one who looks like a Comet but has a strange long tail- looks like a dogs tail.....i also love your music you have chosen. what about saint saens "Aquarium"?
Your Ryukin is sooo adorable, I can't get over it, haha. I have two already, (Both calico) but this video makes me want a red and white every time I see it.
OMG your redcap looks EXACTLY like mine!! Wow! Amazing! I have a vid of her up somewhere. I guess there's some slight differences, like her dorsal fin is a little taller, but I'd say if Wynona were to have a twin, it would be your red cap.
How do you do your video effects? It is like watching a professional movie commercial, please give me some tips or what software u use? Thanks, nice fish!
i have a 70 gallon tank with 6 gold fish 4 tetras i dont know what kind and 1 iredescent shark is that over crowded? if so how much fish should i have?
^^Didn't see the video yet! I feed them Emerald Entree and an occasional meaty treat. FAT spoiled fishies...I am still waiting for a change for a 75 gallon.....:( Have to move out of my parent's first...
so cute! i just got a 29 gallon tank, and idk what im going to stock it with. i want comet goldfish but i've read those guys can get to be 14 inches maybe i should get fancy goldfish like yours. idk yet. lol im a begginer with a large tank so hopefully i will be able to created a healthy tank for my fish to live in. its going to be alot harder than my 2 bettas i currently have.
If you're getting a 29 gallon, it would be best to have two fancy goldfish at most. Commons, comets, and shubunkins really can exceed 14 inches! Fancy goldfish such as orandas, moors, ryukins, ranchus, and so on reach from 8-10 inches.
Oh! And also, don't worry about hard maintenance. If you cycle properly and do research on what you plan on keeping, you should do great! The larger the tank, the easier to care for. It requires less maintenance and there is more room for chemical error. If you decide to keep goldfish in your tank, (which are FABULOUS for beginners because they don't require heating and are generally very hardy) I promise they will be a source of joy.
You fish look great! I'm glad to see someone take such good care of goldfish they are often kinda abused. I can't wait to get my goldfish tank complete. YOu should check out my freshwater tank. =-]
Its a huge pond, it's a large rectangle, we dug into the dround with about a foot out of the air. Its about 1500 gallens or something like that, I worked it out a while ago and i think we can hold around 30 goldfish but were fine with thr 15 :P. Not sure if the calculations are right...
actually that might have been liters not gallens, :S it was a while ago so the details are foggy :) but anyways, i subscribed so i can see the next one XD :P
The font is called "dilate" and the music is first a segment from a piece in the third harry potter, the second is the tetris piano concerto from overclocked remix. ^^ I love those guys.
nice! The "tetris piano concerto from overclocked remix" is a mouthfull! lol, so when is the next vid of the goldies?? :P I have about 18 common goldfish in a pond, so i cant video them, it would be too boring for people to watch.
Now, now...let's not fall to name calling, children. Minch is three and a half years old-the first week I had her she had a severe case of fin rot; I treated her and as her fins grew back, they grew together into one instead of two! I have no idea why they overlapped, but she has adapted and been swimming like so ever since, perfectly healthy otherwise!
Yay, it's so refreshing to see someone who knows that they're doing with goldies (as far as getting them into a 100G, poor guys are crowded!), very nice, I too am partial to ryukins and have a red/white breeding trio as well as a couple of comets and demekins with a total of 450 gallons amongst my tanks, three of the smaller tanks are for fry.
i cant get enough of those guys their so inspiring well them and this video. once again great job... HA i just thought of another new goldfish name " pupis" sounds like the name of a planet or somthing lol
I think of Minch as...Disfigured. She is three and a half years old-the first week I had her she had a severe case of fin rot; I treated her and the fins grew together into one instead of two! I have no idea why they overlapped, but she has adapted and been swimming like so ever since, perfectly healthy otherwise! She can beat the fancies to food any time!
The first piece is from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Secrets of the Castle (by John Williams, one of my favorite people of all time ^^) and the second is Tetris Piano Concerto in A minor (OC Remix) By Jeremy Robson.
I found that as my goldfish grew, the extra decorations in the tank caused them to stress and get sick (ick), so now I have very little in mine. The best medication I found for this was Coppersafe (instead of all the antibiotics).
Best of luck with your fish! A mob o' fancy goldfish is fun!
I understand that goldfish love their swimmin' space and furnished their tank sparsely. My other tanks are LOADED. As they grow, I shall likely change the decor accordingly! Thank you for the recommendation on the medicine, I shall have a look and comment!
Really nice looking goldfish. How large is this tank? It looks to be a 30 gallon. When they get older, they will need at least a 55 gallon. Those comets can grow up to 14 inches long, and the fancies can get to 8 inches each. :0 !
Interesting--the one comet with only one piece of his/her tail.
Sadly, it is only a 30. When I move out of my parents' house, I shall get them at least 100 gallons. The one with the odd tail is three and a half years old-the first week I had her she had a severe case of fin rot; I treated her and the fins grew together into one instead of two! I have no idea why they overlapped, but she has adapted and been swimming like so ever since, perfectly healthy otherwise!
That's a good plan. :) It sounds like you know what you're doing.
Wow, that's an interesting story. Strange how easily they can adapt. The fish is intriguing to look at.
Which are your favorites--comets or fancies? I have comets as well, but they live in a pond outside. Right now they are enduring some 14 degree F weather, but they do well with it. They are about 4 inches long not counting their tails now.
My favorite fancy fish are orandas. They just look so silly with their red hats.
My first fish EVER (ten years ago) was a Ryukin goldfish named Jabba that I kept in a two gallon cube that I had won. He lived in that tank until he was as big as it was and I bought him a ten gallon with all the money I could possibly save up at the time. He died about a year and a half old, most likely due to ammonia poisoning (I had NO idea at the time!)
I just started keeping goldfish again when I purchased Minch the comet. But, to answer directly, I really love fancies. They are hilarious and lovable in motion. My favorites are ryukins and black moors. Not to say that comets aren't beautiful!
I miss keeping fancy goldfish. They were just too hard to keep healthy, even in our 55g tank...all the water changes and such. Our goldfish do great in our ornamental pond, but inside was difficult. Yours are gorgeous!
nice video, nice goldfishes and u ve a v beautiful decorations too. cute red cap oranda. will get some n add to my tank too. how nice is that each one got a name :)
Thank you for posting! My guy is a little sleepy this late in the evening, and watching your lovely bunch dance is a good way to wind down. :)

Technically comets are "fancy" but you are right. You shouldn't keep long bodied with round bodied. I sold the comets.
