@DANNITYKANE100 I like the cool and dre song more but their use of the sample was not far superior lol. They basically loped. Dilla chopped different parts of the song and put em together. Listen to this again and both those beats and see that Dilla says go is a patchwork of chops while hate it or love it is a loop...
well i'm gonna ,make an new collection mix of the biggest dancehits of the tramps so does anyone could help me t get tham all in maxi version at mp3 let me know
Thank you for posting this overlooked original track from the recorded in 1971, released 1972, Legendary Zing LP by the Trammps. The 45 shown was the 'B' side of Pray All You Sinners, also released in 1972, charted stateside in 1973. The whole album was huge in the clubs in New Orleans & New York, and still quite relevant today. Really enjoy this group. Also check out the 4 Tops-Ain't No Woman. DAVEDJ
@holden76 In Germany in 1972, Rubber Band was the B side of Sixty Minute Man. In the U.S., Rubber Band was the B side of Pray All You Sinners. The promo 7" in the U.S. had the single version of this classic on one side, the album (longer) version on the flip. No matter how they were released, the Trammps are classic and relevant to today, with "Rubber Band" a particular faveourite of mINe. DAVEDJ
When you listen to recordings like these you become aware that music's becoming ever worse... You really have to look a lot to find good, ORIGINAL music nowadays.

I had this album for years and played it completely for the first time the other day. To my suprise i hear the sample from hate it or love it. It's amazing how u can take a piece of a song and make a hit record. I'm loving the Trammps always.
it pisses me off that these comments refer to hate it or love it as a 50 cent song, wtf, its the game feat 50. a remix to it was on 50s album, but its still the games song. get your shit straight
@ChrisEgnew well, both had their versions of the song. What's the problem anyways? It's not like 50s getting royalties from people saying its a 50 song. Maybe those who say that refer to the g-unit version. It's a crazy good song, and it's shame they started fighting, cuz they could've made more songs like hate it or love it.I hope you're not one of those g-unot guys going crazy because people are "crediting" 50.Anyways 'm not fighting with you about something meaningless like this, from my view.
nah im not part of the g unot shit. but i hear where youre coming from. i just know that as an artist myself, i know how bad i would be pissed if that happenedto me. but yeah, they couldve done some dope ass songs together =/
The 1975 LP was a remix of the 1972 sessions that yielded this track and a bunch of others. Not all of them were previously released on 45. This track was released as a mono, slightly slower version back in 1972. Sixty Minute Man and Zing were other tracks released in 1972, along with the instrumental of Hold Back The Night (called Scrubboard). Disco was invented in Philadelphia, which is why this track didn't sound dated when it was remixed for 1975. No extra instruments were added.

good call ice, they have to ask permission if they(band, artist, company) dont agree then the'll have to ditch it or get sued. also sampling fees are hella expensive for the bigger artists
actually sampling exists across various genres aside from Hip Hop and has existed for several years. Its a good way to keep young people in tune with past music as Big Daddy Kane mentioned.
Love this original. I always wondered who did this. Now I know...the same guys who put out one of the greatest disco records ever...Disco Inferno.... One of the best that came out of the halls of the era of the Sound of Philadelphia 1970's...
i don't really think you can compare the two as simply 'which is better'...this song is from another era, it has all the hallmarks of that sort of 70s style, whereas 50's/game's version took this and transported it into the modern era with that hip hop, urban sound....i think they're both great in their own ways and styles.
