Big up to all the Dilla heads out there.

  • this is going to sound weird, but the first time I hit play the song hadn't fully loaded so it cut off the same way dilla breaks the beat. awesome.

  • I love this song. THIS song. I will recognize no other version.

  • a great break man really im bouncing on the disk

  • Cool and Dre Sampled it better...Dilla could've made his better

  • @djjd707 agree. well everything has to start from somewhere right?

  • The Trammps featuring Earl Young & DJ Suds are coming to Gerritson Beach Brooklyn NY for the 70s disco reunion at Tamaqua Marina on sept 24.

  • mary j

  • 50¢ bite added a baseline and the conga bit...

  • Give the producers some credit here... It was Cool and Dre who made that track, The Game doesn't produce anything

  • Not a Bowie cover.

  • Love this song, can't believe it's only been sampled by Dilla and Game.

  • I can't get enough of it. True as well...

  • 2:13 Hate It Or Love It sample SICK!!!

  • Wow! Great playlist. Love the Trammps. Thanks!

  • Go ahead and envy this!

  • @mrkeenway88 you mean the trammps

  • @Mat072Mat Hate It Or Love It is a The Game's track, on his album The Documentary. ;)

  • @GangstaZ2206 Yeh I didnt know :P, I think the game is way better anyways.

    gunot

  • Cool & Dre's use of this record was far superior to that of J Dilla's

  • @DANNITYKANE100 I like the cool and dre song more but their use of the sample was not far superior lol. They basically loped. Dilla chopped different parts of the song and put em together. Listen to this again and both those beats and see that Dilla says go is a patchwork of chops while hate it or love it is a loop...

  • @mcpoet20 FAR SUPERIOR

  • well i'm gonna ,make an new collection mix of the biggest dancehits of the tramps so does anyone could help me t get tham all in maxi version at mp3 let me know

  • Lyrics are so true. Brilliant vocals + brilliant instrumental. Result? Excellent tune.

  • hate it or love it

  • Thank you for posting this overlooked original track from the recorded in 1971, released 1972, Legendary Zing LP by the Trammps. The 45 shown was the 'B' side of Pray All You Sinners, also released in 1972, charted stateside in 1973. The whole album was huge in the clubs in New Orleans & New York, and still quite relevant today. Really enjoy this group. Also check out the 4 Tops-Ain't No Woman. DAVEDJ

  • @Multi1628 I thought this was the flip to "Sixty Minute Man"

  • @holden76 In Germany in 1972, Rubber Band was the B side of Sixty Minute Man. In the U.S., Rubber Band was the B side of Pray All You Sinners. The promo 7" in the U.S. had the single version of this classic on one side, the album (longer) version on the flip. No matter how they were released, the Trammps are classic and relevant to today, with "Rubber Band" a particular faveourite of mINe. DAVEDJ

  • What I meant, of course, is that it used to be much better.

  • When you listen to recordings like these you become aware that music's becoming ever worse... You really have to look a lot to find good, ORIGINAL music nowadays.

  • 5 People Can Go Stretch Like a Rubber Band

  • This has been sample by various artists including "The Game","50 Cent",and others. But I do remember this very well when this came out in 1975.......As a kid, I knew GOOD SOUL MUSIC when it came out. The Trammps were the JOINT!!!

  • @rayssonation man u are so lucky....i wish i was born in those times when music like this was amazing! now music nowadays doesnt even come close to this....thumbs up :D

  • hate it or love it underdoooogs on top

  • J Dilla , Rest In Peace !!

  • grande canzone... tanti ricordi

  • hate it or love it! EDS

  • Cool and Dre!

  • @iwannafite what did cool and dre make outta this?

  • @jayjay26021995 you dont hear hate it or love it?

  • I knew it; I thought it's weird for 50 Cent and Game to produce a respectable beat for a change.

  • I had this album for years and played it completely for the first time the other day. To my suprise i hear the sample from hate it or love it. It's amazing how u can take a piece of a song and make a hit record. I'm loving the Trammps always.

  • it pisses me off that these comments refer to hate it or love it as a 50 cent song, wtf, its the game feat 50. a remix to it was on 50s album, but its still the games song. get your shit straight

  • OR how about this, fuck you for calling someone a bitch when they were just crediting someone for their work.

  • game didnt create this...so you basically gave game credit for something he neve did. Cool N Dre made the beat. 50 and game rapped over it.

  • i understand who fucking produced the song. all i was saying is that people call it 50s song, whenits the games.

  • @ChrisEgnew well, both had their versions of the song. What's the problem anyways? It's not like 50s getting royalties from people saying its a 50 song. Maybe those who say that refer to the g-unit version. It's a crazy good song, and it's shame they started fighting, cuz they could've made more songs like hate it or love it.I hope you're not one of those g-unot guys going crazy because people are "crediting" 50.Anyways 'm not fighting with you about something meaningless like this, from my view.

  • nah im not part of the g unot shit. but i hear where youre coming from. i just know that as an artist myself, i know how bad i would be pissed if that happenedto me. but yeah, they couldve done some dope ass songs together =/

  • @ChrisEgnew sorry pal this is a jay dilla beat get it right homepiss

  • GOTTA LOVE THE INSTRUMENTALS !!!

  • damn fuck 50 cent

    THIS SONG IS THE SHIT

  • @jtebaize 50 cent ft The Game hate it or love it, i've just noticed it

  • @Bonafide996 i know thats why i say fuck 50 cent

  • @jtebaize i don't like him either, he became soft

  • hate it or love it the underdogs on top !

  • 'Pleasure from the buddah group' says the picture

  • Does the price tag on that 45 say .99 cents?!?

  • R.I.P. J DILLA

    Dilla says... GO!!!!!!!!

  • first i thought that Hi-Tek produced this to 50

  • @Lidveppo cool and dree ....

what dilla made a beat with the same sample but thre name of the song ids dilla say goo

    ..

  • dillaaaaa.

and i liked hate it or love it too

  • @sazkwatch RIP J DILLA!!!

  • Lol thats hilarious you getting thumbed down but in truth you right. And dilla didnt even flip it the best.

  • WHHAAAATT!!!!???? I didnt know Dilla Sampled this song too? lmao should have known, Dilla is everywere!! hahaha

  • R.I.P. Dilla, fuk da five-0

  • Dilla says go. 50 says hate it or love it, underdogs on top...

  • Dilla, wish you were still here

  • DILLA.. we miss you

  • Dilla for life..

  • RIP Dilla.

  • The Trammps! 50 Cent - Hate It Or Love it sampled a portion from 2:04 -2:21 from this awesome track. How original is that?

  • wow amazing

  • Cool & Dre sampled that for Game & 50 Cent..50 not making beats..;)

  • @RAaron67 I really liked Hate it or love it from 50 cent but when i heard the original ... it's way better.

(J dilla did his own new song with it tho, R.I.P. :p)

  • The 1975 LP was a remix of the 1972 sessions that yielded this track and a bunch of others. Not all of them were previously released on 45. This track was released as a mono, slightly slower version back in 1972. Sixty Minute Man and Zing were other tracks released in 1972, along with the instrumental of Hold Back The Night (called Scrubboard). Disco was invented in Philadelphia, which is why this track didn't sound dated when it was remixed for 1975. No extra instruments were added.

  • @phillydisco Mixed by Mr Tom Moulton himself..freakin' genius.

  • @holden76 - Hell yeah!! If the 12 said "A Tom Moulton Mix" you knew you were in for 7+ minutes of dancing heaven!!

  • hate it or love it the underdogs on top

  • hate it or love it underdogs on top...

  • You stretch me out like a rubber band!

  • J dilla - dilla says go. amazing.

  • hell yah dude

  • yeah GET MYSELF TOGETHER!

  • uhh dilla

  • j dila sampled off this, and made "dilla says go"... r.i.p.

  • the game sampled it too for "hate it or love it"

  • i didnt mention it because i dont like him.

  • your opinion and thats cool for me =)

  • this has to be one of the best trammps songs ever made , along with the 1992 remake of hold back the night , with jimmy williams as lead singer,

  • One of the best soul track ever - many thanks for posting, have played this recently at a couple of parties, and this is an abolute rocker - keep your ears open for the DK edit, its 7mins and loses none of the beauty

  • hate it or love it this samples good for rap

disco's dead, they cant take it back

so keep on playin this shit with a dope ass beat

cause they way the game rappin it brings you to your feet

    freestylin,

    goin all wild'n'

    out

    its what this mc's about

  • i love the song and remade or not the originall never loses its touch you strech me out like a rubber band and u got my life in the palm of ur hand

  • stupid people!!!cool & dre took the sample!!damm........... not 50 and game!they just raped on it..its a whole different thing+rap is based on bitting old samples!!wu tang biggie 2pac kanye swizzy and all them niggaz clasics are based on SAMPLES!!THATS HIP HOP!! i repeat for the slow ones......the greatest hits are based on stealing THE END

  • i agree this is whyh todays hiphop sucks in comparison

  • raPPed with 2 P please. raped is something *completely* else lol

  • Damn gangsta rapers!

  • It's Not Biting, They Creatively Modify The Beat, As Respect To The Tracks!! THEY ASK FOR PERMISSION DUMBASS!!

  • good call ice, they have to ask permission if they(band, artist, company) dont agree then the'll have to ditch it or get sued. also sampling fees are hella expensive for the bigger artists

  • actually sampling exists across various genres aside from Hip Hop and has existed for several years. Its a good way to keep young people in tune with past music as Big Daddy Kane mentioned.

  • Love this original. I always wondered who did this. Now I know...the same guys who put out one of the greatest disco records ever...Disco Inferno.... One of the best that came out of the halls of the era of the Sound of Philadelphia 1970's...

  • I love this music, i see the trammps in Italy in 1979- Eccezzionale!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Molto, molto bello.

Un saluto da Ancona - Italy.

  • wat can i say bout dilla, man was way ahead of his time

  • i don't really think you can compare the two as simply 'which is better'...this song is from another era, it has all the hallmarks of that sort of 70s style, whereas 50's/game's version took this and transported it into the modern era with that hip hop, urban sound....i think they're both great in their own ways and styles.

  • Love this original. Jimmy Ellis sings great. It reminds me of the time i went out to the disco in the seventies. Thanks for posting Love Peter

  • this has been so fuckin over sampled by like 10 producers ive seen

  • thats wut we have 9th for

  • such an amazing song

  • not even..you can tell when someone ghostwrites for someone else.

  • How is 50 cent version far better? when cool and dre sample this song for hate it or love it and j-dilla also made a beat from this song hence indicating songs back then had more elements of real music ship.

  • the early 90's were the era when everyone was sampling funk and old r&b songs. why can't game or anyone else do it in the doubles 0's?

  • making music from scratch is way better,

but hate it or love it beat is hot!

5/5 This One Rules :) even im more into hiphop, Real hiphop not lilwayne crap and soulja boy crap

  • soooo true,

i agree with you on that,

lil wayne soulja boy that shit is wack, lil wayne is not the best rapper alive,

if you listen to trae swangmthis dude has money but he doesnt brag about it,he speaks the real you know,.....

  • nice

  • Dillas sample this shit fuck 50 his shit is garbage

  • amen

  • 50's was better...sorry..all that "I HATE 50" bandwagon shit is getting old

  • finally someone said it!

  • I hate 50

  • 50 cent's version is (surprisingly) far better.

  • Actually it was on Games CD, but 50 is on the track tho

  • Actually there is a version on 50's "The Massacre" album that features all the members of G-Unit at the time on it, aswell as the more known version being on The Game's "Documentary" cd....

i own both CD's.. so yeah i'm aware...

  • well it was game's song, but after g-unit dropped game 50 had the rights to the song so he did what he does best and stole some of the game's heat by adding a remix of the song on his own album. So the moral of the story is 50's a bitch

  • It was 50's song first. He'd recorded the track (same thing for "this is how we do") and then let Game rap over it.. 50 produced "The Documentary", and he rapped on "hate it or love it" on Games cd...

  • 50 was co-executive producer...Dre was the other, contributing 7 songs

  • the gunit version sucks butt
