  • Amazing!

  • rhhnfhgnbkj

  • The first time saw this video when I was really a small kid (mind you, English is not my first language) and that time I really thought that the Archies group was actually the Scooby Doo cartoon! LOL

  • So Happy To Hear This Song...! Thanks A Lot !

  • This is like some eerie predecessor to the Gorillaz

  • I REMEMBER THIS SONG BACK IN 1969!!!!!! This Fat Old Dog Remembers!!!! :O

  • wow the candy girl has earned 2 dollars applause ^^

  • Don Kirshner's revenge, cartoon characters can't ask for more artistic control. Take that, Mike Nesmith!

  • How does Archie get to pick between two hot girls when he has such a horribly high voice?

  • If only you old folks had been thinking in the '60's -instead of smoking dope and having sit-ins- if you had been broadcasting THIS to the Muslims we would not have the problems we have today. This would surely have rotted their fundamentialistical 7th Century brains into mello submission!

  • i love this song!! :3 <3

  • The first time I heard this song it came on a box of Sugar Crisp cereal and I was 6 years old...my brother and I would make our mother play this over and over while we danced and bounced all over the house...LOL!! good times :)

  • cool how Hot Dog didn't have to shell out any money!!

  • 1969. A gold mine of awesomely great songs. Check out the hits of 1969. It will amaze you. Sugar Sugar... The #1 song that year. I remember, I was there. I was 12 years old. Wow. What a great time it was.

  • @PREZ150 Ditto...I may be 51 now, but every single time this song plays it whisks me back to the 60's. And yes, I got the record. Not my older brother. Younger, faster than he was I.

  • where is jughead

  • I remember these cartoons. They were TERRIBLE!!! The only reason a lot of people watched was for the band. The songs were great, and they kept the members of the band a secret for years. But the room itself was a disaster.

  • it was ok but is nothing to write home about

  • anyone else notice the Quagmire head bob at 0:47 ?

  • Some carnival... where's all the people?

  • @GauchosGirl I agree...the voices aren't what I thought either...-.-

  • I got this album off the back of a cereal box 42 years ago. SWEEEEET

  • What the hell? This is NOT how I imagined their voices when I was reading the comic books! Kinda ruined it for me lol.

  • What tv channel is the archies on?

  • I'd love to have Archie's "problem"... having to choose between Betty or Veronica.

  • @nickstoli

No you don't, that would mean having to choose between two girls that both are just unbelievable and equally gorgeous and apparently it has driven Archie so insane that he keeps imagining that he's been a teenager for decades when in reality he probably is in some psych ward and thinks all the other patients are the good ol gang. :P

  • JAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJJAJAJAJAJAJAJJAJAJAJJA QUE BUEN TEMAAA

  • dear god lip syncing at 1:22 :P

  • I was 8 years old when this came out, and I loved it. It's still my all-time favourite pop song. And I still want a guitar-playing frog, and a kiss from that girl....

  • Good old times...I like! :-)

  • is sabrina a witch from sabrina the teenage witch?

  • @fairgwen1 Yes. Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, in cartoon form, was introduced on TV in 1969 on "The Archie Comedy Hour." This video of "Sugar, Sugar" is also from "The Archie Comedy Hour" in 1969.

  • @windsorbear whats with archies voice?

  • @fairgwen1 Hey, watch your language!

  • FOR MY SWEETHEART, AROUNDTHEWORLD62, my Steven

    Te amo, belle0961, Marilyn

  • Fuck I was born 16 years too late!

  • I used to love reading the Archie comics :)

  • sorry to burst all myths, but the arches were a figment of a certain

mr king from england who wrote,"everyones gone to the moon"and

had another make believe group called "the piglets"

  • @1gangy Jonathan made a cover of "Sugar, Sugar" later after The Archies original version had already charted.

  • I never knew that this song was by the Archie comics characters

  • @andreagiuseppe Yea Dude it was sung by Paper cartoons !

    Fuckwit!!! go get a Brain

  • @keirfree You completely missed the intention of the comment. good for you

  • @andreagiuseppe Yea what Eva !!

  • @keirfree You need help.

  • @UTubeIsTrackingYou with what ? specifically

  • Where are his freckles!? *GASP!*

  • @Feathertailforever Filmation did not put freckles on Archie for the sake of continuity during animation. HOWEVER, they did give Sabrina freckles, which made no sense. The only time Archie was shown with freckles during Filmations animation of him was during the 1969 prime-time TV special, "Archie & His New Friends". Don Bluth was in charge of that one, and I guess he decided to have Archie with freckles then.

  • @windsorbear Thanks for the info dude!

  • Being sung on Moving-Up at Headway School, no. on Karaoke is 9217

  • The man at 0:37 looks just like my Biology teacher!

  • @PopcornWales14 Reggie is your biology teacher???

  • I'm only 13 and I love the Archies and I will pass on the fondness to my future children!

  • If you like The Archie's, you might like my bubblegum music podcast, Echo Valley. It's free and fun and we play The Archie's every week! Check it out on iTunes or Google "Echo Valley Bubblegum"! Thanks!

  • thanks for making me feel old.

  • @bagrat22 Glad to know I'm not the only one!!!

  • @Daddybopper Hoooomer

  • Simpler days

  • Found out this was originally supposed to be the Monkees... that would have been interesting.

    Anyone know a cover?

  • @CostanzaKramer1 There are several covers out there... Wilson Pickett did one in 1970. The Monkees thing is a myth... Jeff Barry, who co-wrote the song denies that it was ever offered to them... he says it was written specifically for The Archies.

  • SUGAR CANDY KISSES $1

    And REAL ones, too.

  • El Torombolo y Mala Suerte !

  • Love the song! LOL I have s chihuahua named Sugar (she's brown) and let's just say this song does not go with her! LOL!

  • I love thies soog

  • proof that old music could be just as retarded as new music

  • bitch.

  • I use to read the comic book. but unfortunately, all of them were lost :(

  • POP ART

  • i am ten and love it

  • @fireant53 i am 24 and i love it XD

  • acid times :D

  • Apparently, this song was meant for the Monkees but they were trying to be more alternative at the time so they refused it. So the producers "gave" it to the Archies!

  • @allaspinaband Jeff Barry, who co-wrote the song with Andy Kim, denies this; says it was written specifically for The Archies. There was another song written for The Monkees that had "sugar" in the title, and was refused by then, and it is believed that song is what causes the confusion about "Sugar, Sugar"... especially since Don Kirshner also said that it was offered to The Monkees. I'll go with the person that actually wrote the song.

  • @windsorbear It was called "Sugar Girl",as I heard it,and Kirshner was all too happy to give it them, but one problem..Nesmith took it off the turntable, and announced they weren't interested, which led to him Punching a hole in the Plasterboard Wall (It was at The Beverly Hills Hotel,BTW!) On top of that,Kirshner was celebrating a Belated Bar Mitzvah with his parents looking on in Horror! Some present,Huh?

  • @windsorbear cool, thanks!

  • Now watch it while high on LSD and hum the national anthem while dumping

  • Far Out!

  • I'm 27 years old and I looooove this song!!!

  • their guitars are weird and they hold them weirdly.

but that doesn't minus the awesomeness of Archie.

  • Always liked the song from the get go; nice to see the video. For those not living in 1969 who might be missing the joke, the Archies as a group did not exist. They were studio musicians that recorded this song using the Archie comic book character for a name. Not sure, but I think that it was well before the cartoon show It was considered the beginning of "bubble gum" music that covered what the name implies. See 1910 Fruit Gum Co. and Ohio Express.

  • im 13 and i love this

  • @oliveam11 XDD I'm 15 and I can't get enough :D

  • This is the first time I have ever seen it in color as we only had one TV and it was a black and white well into the 70's. Can you imagine?

  • @richard112588 ¡¡¡BIEBER DIE!!! "The Beatles LIVE"

  • How could they write this great song if they were only cartoon characters?

  • @16nowhereman Don Kirshner knows how to destroy the fabric of space and time.

  • @16nowhereman it's the voice actors and the creators of the show that wrote the songs.

  • @16nowhereman a voice dub over

  • @16nowhereman and how were cartoons made???
