Every person he came in contact with could not all have been stupid people hence the very prestige in their professions. They might not have been able to realize who he was but truly can you show that you do better? If this guy wasn't smart it wouldn't have taken the FBI to stop him. Intelligence comes in many forms and he was obviously very smart considering the venue through which he used his intelligence.

it really makes me wonder how he knew how to do all the fraud that he did yes the guy is very smart but if his life was even similar to the movie he had no guidence no one to teach him the basics of fraud so how did he figure it out that's what baffles me. I mean he out witted big companies that have people who look out for fraud and they got fooled by him.
