  • Great man!

He is also a veterinarian, which says a lot of him!

Go Morrisey, you are a veterinarian!

  • Great man!

he also has a vagina, which says a lot of him!

    Go Morrisey, your a vagina!

  • Great man!

He is also a vegan, which says a lot of him!

Go Morrisey, you are a legend!

  • good work mate, hope you will make some more videos

  • best part

Oh, I didn't realise that you wrote poetry

I didn't realise you wrote such bloody awful poetry, Mr. Shankly

  • brilliant!!! Can't wait to have a boring job to have a reason to sing it ^_^

  • I routinely whistle this tune while I clock in at work.

  • that was so cool

  • "I want to go down in musical history" Yes, Sir Moz....you already have!

  • Well, I just cleared out the room singing this aloud. haha

  • which album?

  • the back of the guys head looks like simon cowells.

  • Fame fame fatal fame

  • beautiful song

  • This song is brilliant, but disgustingly short!

  • loveit.....

  • Jeez, I always twist the lyrics and it goes like 'Frankly R. Shankly I'm a sickening BEAR'. I can't help it.

  • great video.. I envy anyone who does not relate to this song

  • Awesome video!

  • Describes my life at college right now, I'm doing an architecture course but i discovered a talent for music back in december and want to change my course next year, but have to make a good case to my parents and lecturers that i really want to make it in music, the first verse describes all that i feel perfectly.

Morrisey's voice communicates emotions so perfectly

  • @ThePicardieBand Dont be stupid, ye, fair enough if you were doing something like film studies... by all means change your career and be a waanabe rock star like the rest of us (yes I know, but you - really - think you can make it)......... my point being you can earn a LOT of money doing archecture, stick to that for fucks sake. wannabe rock stars are often pretty useless at everything else anyway so they really cling to the sentiment, I'm not part of "the system" as a defence.

  • @ThePicardieBand don't understand why you can't stay with your architecture degree and indulge your music ambitions too? no offence mate, but if you started in december, there is NO chance that you know if you're good enough to make it. Are you just singing, or playing guitar? Just take some lessons as extracurricular, and finish your degree. You can learn music while studying, and then after uni try to become a rock star. If it doesn't work out then you will at least have your degree!

  • @ThePicardieBand Im gonna get on the band wagon and say while it is all very well and good to follow your dreams, there is shit all money in the arts-take it from me. Everyone I know that has been perfomring for years and years have to subsidise their art with teaching. Think about it carefully. The grass isnt always greener.

  • @ThePicardieBand wait 'til you actually have a job, then you'll really know what this song means

  • that song describes exactly how i felt in my previous job

  • Top Video !

  • Listening to this at work - oh, the irony!

  • "I do not mean to be so rude, still I must speak frankly"

That line describes my behavior so much

  • @ScatterBeckied

~frankly speeking, it describes almost evryones behavior quite a bit, doesnt it, scatterbeckied^^

  • Songs like this, or like "Rusholme Ruffians" are typical for Mozzers great wit, I could laugh my ass off...

  • To all smiths fans, can you please check out this forum, it's new and needs members. And Smith fans are more than welcome.

    warringtonmusic d ot c om /forum/

    Cheers !!

  • BEST SONG EVER.

  • beautiful video!

  • You spelt "realise" incorrectly.

  • @sjbridle Realize and realise are both acceptable, I think the former is favoured in the U.S. Also, 'spelt' is preferred in the UK and 'spelled' the U.S. Similarly with 'whilst' and 'while.'

  • A perfect video for Morrissey since he said all he did was walk the streets for hours(that and sat reading in his room) when he was younger then went home to write songs.

  • 1:17 !!!! love those seconds! of the vocal! AMAZING!

  • Oh! Give us your money!

  • abuseing the replay button lol

  • Wonderful homage to Derek Jarman's 'Panic' video!!

  • I want to make cards for the mentally ill now.

  • @sirbean123 you should do it, they'd love it.

  • darren shan sent me <3

  • I laughed loud when I heard this and followed the lyrics. It's probably the best song I've heard this entire month! The lyrics are pure genius!

  • @MandaOwl ... change that to the best song of the year.

  • @MandaOwl That is what makes The Smiths "The Smiths" Awesome lyrics along with great music.

  • husky you are the worst caster ever wtf are you doing just give up...please...

  • 0:45 PERFECT!

  • Morrissey is the John Cleese of song writing.........sorry about that, the twentyfirst century is breathing down my neck,..........the Oscar Wilde of song writing.............he can turn a phrase flawlessly and is the GREATEST SINGER/SONGWRITER OF ALL TIME!

  • Probably the best ever anti-work song of all time..."It pays my way, but corrodes ny soul".

  • Id rather be famous.. then righteous or holy....

  • @MrKhaosconn So true. Blessed be the days of cardigans and Dr Martin shoes.

  • best band ever

  • these are the guys that did "love will tear us apart", right?

  • @theweakwillwalk . No mate that was Joy Division, another Manchester band (Salford to be exact).

They then went on to form "New Order" after the death of Ian Curtis (the lead singer)

  • @theweakwillwalk Close. You're thinking of New Order who became Joy Division after the singer died

  • @foggie other way round foggie, they were Joy Division first

  • @theweakwillwalk no, thats joy division

  • @theweakwillwalk are you crazy or dumb?

  • @theweakwillwalk are you crazy or dumb? morrissey will spit in your eye for saying that

  • ' Makes me wonder what i missed if it had been different and i grew up in Britian'

    rain, misery, idiots, exhaust fumes...

  • All my family on my fathers side is from Britian. Im first born in the states. Makes me wonder what i missed if it had been different and i grew up in Britian. My fathr woudnt have met my mother so i suppose i may not have been here to even type in this comment if hed of stayed in Britian. The Smiths have to be one of the most interestingly beautiful bands ive ever heard.. peacenlove

  • Makes me sad that people are too busy thinking about what it is to be British instead of what it is to be human. We're never a minority because we are all a part of the same race. The only problem I see with immigration is overpopulation and a drain on resources. But if there was to be any kind of peace on Earth, we would have to stop thinking that geography makes us different. Even down to the idea that you're nice if you come from Toronto.

  • I love Morrisey's snarks.

  • thats my story........w the smiths the best group ever david

  • fuck yeah

  • Nicely done

  • I'm in love with this.

  • My Friends ♥ Moz!

Search Face book: My Friends Love Me

  • I love this song, but with the Vuvu Zela in the foreground it just becomes so much better!

  • morrisey is a lyrical genius.

  • This song makes me smile! =D

  • @KRH6626 ignore him ....hes probably a jock ...whereas us english are infinitly superior ...to everyone :)

  • english stupid inbred bast*rds

  • @tramista86 how are we inbred? In england we have a multitude of cultures, and races all living together. thats many different genes and ancestry floating around. So surely thats not being inbred, or has your memory lapsed you fucking idiot.

  • @J4f94 easy now. When someone calls you inbred do you really need to defend yourself? Ignorance shines brighter from above.. don't stoop.

  • @J4f94 I totally agree: I am British by choice and conviction.

  • @fucknametheives my dear chap, how awfully tiresome for you....

  • @applemac555 ;) how can it be tiresome? I was born in Canada (how I love the brotherhood of the Commonwealth!) yet I live and breathe for Queen and Country, Enid Blyton novels, and stiff-upper-lippedness. Rule Britania!

  • @fucknametheives There is nothing to thank the Queen for. I would actually put her on trial for treason if I could, due to the way in which she has capitulated to the EU and allowed the UK to be swallowed up by the European Union Of Socialist States. The reason we have mass-immigration from every shitty-arsed country in Europe imposed on us is due to our enforced membership of this Socialist cabal; and HM The Queen stood by and letting it happen. Thank God I'm leaving the UK soon....

  • @applemac555 Where will you go? North America is mired in the same problems you describe (see my post to brighton1968)

  • @fucknametheives That is a really good point; I am a liberal, open-minded sort of guy, but get really pissed when I am told that I MUST 'celebrate diversity'; sorry to burst your bubble, but the UK is finished. I come from a city called Brighton (the San Francisco of the UK). Since we have had multiculturalism and diversity ENFORCED on us, the community cohesion and liberal open-mindedness of my home town has gone to hell; if you do not agree with your Socialist masters, YOU ARE A RACIST!!!

  • @applemac555 Some of the best musicians I ever heard come from Brighton. Didn't Joy Division come from there? Yep, the whole collectivist mentality is taking us to hell. I have to admit, my ideal of Britain is basically influenced by classical literature and the 70's version of "The Famous Five" :P

Tell me, is it still possible to backpack across Great Britain or is it too dangerous now?

  • @fucknametheives Well, it depends what parts of Britain you go to! We still have a low level of crime compared to say, New York. London has a problem with Romanian pick-pocketing gangs, so as with any big city, keep your wallet safe, and don't show ostentatious displays of wealth (iPhones, cameras, etc), and you should be fine. If you're a woman backpacking, you'll get a little hassle,as you would in any country. Send me a personal message if you want more info; I'm happy to give you advice! :-)

  • @applemac555 . Having an iPhone also shows that you don't know what to do with your ostentatious weath. Anybody with the money to afford an iPhone but half a brain would buy a HTC Evo, not that overpriced piece of uncompatible garbage from those theiving charlatans called Apple!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @fucknametheives Just sent you a PM with my email address if you need any advice re: backpacking in the UK

  • @fucknametheives PS You're from Canada, yeah? What a great country, I did my Ph.D in Toronto (York Uni); Canadian's are the nicest people!

  • @applemac555 Yep, I live in Toronto. We are known for general niceness.

  • @fucknametheives I agree with applemac555. the country that you think britain is died a long, long time ago; mainly due to the EU, political correctness and the appeasement of radical islam. thanks to the EU, the UK is the most over-crowded country in europe and if the current trend in mass immigration continues, we will have to build 5 million homes in the next 20 years. all thanks to the socialist EU

  • @brighton1968 well, we don't have the EU here in canada but we have all the other crap. I'm not racist but I'm tired of being made to feel like a minority in my own country because I'm White and able-bodied. Everyone deserves a chance but here in Canada it's common to see job postings read "women of colur and disabled people especially encouraged to apply." I suppose I've idealised Great Britain as being the exact opposite the place to which I dream of escaping PCness and other guff. So sad.

  • well made vid ,tasteful and creative ...a smiths fan in harlem ???? anythings possible i spose ...say hi to the globetrotters for me

  • such a beautiful video :)

it perfectly fits the song's spirit!

  • @Beestroker you answered your own question...few bands inspire the kind of hatred that the Smiths do. hallmark of a truly unique band, they have devoted fans and even more devoted haters

  • Damn, I wish I had a Mr Blonde action figure.

  • @fieldmarshalhough lol resevoir dogs is an awesome movie

  • Love it! And that is exactly how I feel at the moment about my work life. My soul is dead on every work week; but I don't really dare to change sthg. (yet ;))

  • This video is very good. It put an instantaneous smile on my face.:)

    Cheers for that!

  • great video, pal

  • Omg that is sooooo awesome !!!!!!!!!

  • What is he reffering to with the quote, "I want to catch something that I might be ashamed of." Lol, its not STI right.

  • i like this song and video

  • i´d rather be famous then righteous or holy, any day.

Nothing to ask for.... I love it

  • I didn't know you wrote such bloody aweful poetry. That line may be the reason I adore this song

  • This isn't britpop. It is much, much more.

  • @littlemisscyanidex

oh, it seems like 6 textbooks can be "RONG"

  • Really? I personally, wouldn't call The Smiths brit pop....

  • @littlemisscyanidex You think textbooks cant be wrong?

  • @LittleMissCyanidex

    SHUT UP

  • @BrokenNose182 and much,much more XD

  • @BrokenNose182 No this is The Smiths..Enough said(:

  • @BrokenNose182 So true. in Moz we trust

  • "Beestroker" more like COCK LICKER!

  • :33

  • I love how you're too lazy to write "fucking" but not too lazy to write "fuckin'" even though they require the same amount of key strokes.

  • wow! 5 stars!

  • I'm gonna guess you just learned half the words in that last statement. That and you also listen to Sex Pistols, based on the comment under this one. People like you amuse me. I'd love to see you concoct something similar to this. I don't understand why you're so contemptuous towards The Smiths, but I'm pretty sure that if you even play an instrument, they'll have your hands tied.

  • this video is brilliant :)

  • The Smiths 4 Life! No band will ever top them.

  • The greatest band ever.

  • Amen to that

  • Love the way the action figure looks like Moz, sorta like this is going through his head as to what he'd like to say when he's trotting around with a milkshake.

  • cool video.

  • great thanks to who made the video! Great

  • I really like this! Love the time elapsed photography and how you incorporate the words. Very artful. Well done!

  • eh eh that vid got some cheap geniality...

  • Oh give us MONEY

  • Probably the greatest album of all time.

  • or maybe he knows so much more than you that he CAN make bold claims like that

  • He can think what he bloody well wants

  • Brilliant

  • I want to go down in musical history. Mission accomplished!

  • Im sorrrry!

i meant to put a thumbs up!

  • i hope that wasnt a fizzy cola

  • This song has the best "breakdown" ever.. I just wish they would vamp it at the end of the song or something :P

    Can't get enough of it!

  • This is the type of song I would like to sing to my boss...

  • great video

  • what a brilliant song, and a superb video aswell. love it.

  • No problem, KRH6626

    --Joe

  • i love the smiths!

  • you should give us a download link. i cant find this song anywhere =(

  • download the queen is dead. its on that album

  • Try the record store or iTunes, or are you down with stealing from the artists you like?

  • I've had a poor stressful day and this has cheered me up. Top marks

  • does this song have anything to do with bill shankly, liverpool legend?

  • I've heard it's about Tony Wilson. At least the part about the awful poetry.

  • Dunno about the Tony Wilson bit but funny if true. I know it was partly inspired by Billy Liar, a book / film about a fantasist office clerk (he lied about being a writer) who hated his job.

  • class!
