  • Besides the fact that this show was based on action figures much like G.I. Joe, an interesting thing about the animation was that it was produced by one of Japan's biggest animation studios, Sunrise (known then as Nippon Sunrise).

  • @ApacheMan2K Some '80s cartoons, most notably "ThunderCats," were animated in Japan. It's a pretty cool thing.

  • @Ferocinator Agreed. Cartoons that were animated in Japan usually had sharper, and sometimes more dynamic, animation. And, in some of those cartoon shows, you might notice some effects and gestures that are more familiar to Japanese viewers and similar to what you'd see in anime. In the anvil chorus episode of "Tiny Toon Adventures", I remember seeing Plucky Duck pull down his eyelid to taunt Buster and Babs; this is a rude but very common gesture in Japan.
