  • Isn't it goin to be repeated? I wish I could see it...

  • It was a wonderful production of 'Saint Joan' at the National Theatre but the trailer just shown gives very little idea of what made it so wonderful.

  • "Quite so. These two ideas of hers are the same idea at bottom. It goes deep, my lord. It is the protest of the individual soul against the interference of priest or peer between the private man and his God. I should call it Protestantism if I had to find a name for it." - If Shaw wouldnt have become a poet he would have been a great Jesuit, as he is fighting the modern world with her very own weapons. Defending the clerical detractors of the Maidt! Movies should use this play as script.

  • I saw this, it was absolutely fantastic! Anne-Marie Duff was amazing and I was not bored once during those three hours!

  • i've seen it twice this summer... my god anne marie duff nailed it! go now you still can, it's ending in a few days!

  • Wow this looks really good and I love the music playing in this video!

  • can anyone tell me if it is worth going to see ans where i can see it if so.

    thank you xxXxx

  • saw it last saturday, play was great

  • I dragged my very reluctant 13 year old to this last night - she said afterwards that it was 'brilliant'.

Actress: I think that what the NT means by referring to Joan as a 'Protestant' was that she refused to accept the Catholic Church's interpretation of God's will and instead insisted on believing in her own interpretation, which were manifested through the 'voices' that she heard. Maybe the NT would have been more accurate to write 'Protestant' with a small 'p'.

  • Jocelyn Pook has composed the music for this production

  • Does anybody know the title of the piece of music accompanying this trailer?

  • Dont know the title but it was composed by Jocelyn Pook and the vocal was by Melanie Pappenheim. I imagine this piece was performed by Jocelyn's ensemble
